For the math heads out there, looks almost like a normal curve. All votes being equal, we can interpolate from the results that the average Knicks Defender predicts about 46 wins this upcoming season. Very interesting because, as you know, most NBA preview articles are writing off the knicks as 4th in the atlantic and out of the playoffs. That’s some contrast.

A few of the local newspapers are doing preview videos streamable online. Check out Vescey’s here.

Newsday also has one, but I couldn’t get it to load, and Berman from the post has one here, but it is not as positive. These videos were brought to my attention by the excellent The Big Push, which was in turn brought to my attention by our BARF–thanks homie.
Finally, this is the program I’m going to blame for holding some of your comments from being posted immediately. It isn’t me, this program is built in to the blog so I’ve done all I can to minimize its effects. It is only a problem for a few of you, but still, if you don’t see your post at first, just be patient, chances are it will go through.

Glad to see DVJ is back, and now we’ve got Tman here, Kevin Harewood stopped by and also mr. Trane joined in on the discussion, so it seems we all know the spot! Keep it poppin’ indeed!

“Will things go better this year? Thomas sent up-and-comer Channing Frye to the Portland Trailblazers (with Steve Francis) for Zach Randolph. He’s a perfect fit with the Knicks’ new mentality: anything goes, and nobody wins.”

HAHA! “Up and coming” Channing and franchise for Zbo is a bad deal according to this clown. Whatever.

>>>

It is worse than I initially thought. It is actually an entire issue devoted to Knicks bashing.

Thanks O&B for the hookup. I’ll be there for that, any of you fixers (ex-fixers?) going to go?

I’m going to look around and see if I can find some photos from last year’s practice in Jersey, that was a great event because we were so close to the action and we got to meet a few of the knicks players.

Welcome to all the recent visitors, MODI, Steady, BARF, Bronxboy in Md, PEACEMAN, Jazz, and Orange and Blue. Good to have you on board and I’ll do my best to keep you interested in my Knicks blog. Like MODI, I started this because of the apparent bias in Knicks reporting, and wanted to write it as I see it–also to document the haters so they can eat their words down the road–but everyone feel free to write whatever you feel about the knicks.

I may not be Alan Hahn, but together we are the Fixers!

If any of you guys know of another fellow fixer who has got a blog, let me know so I can post the link on this site. It is best that we each have a blog, that way if any blog gets too Isola for us, we have a network of Knick fans ready to come through like David Lee off the bench! Go to blogger, get a blog homies! Or just read this one, of course!

In the time being, here is a link to my knicks bike. Nothing much, but I did get it because of the Knicks Orange. I won’t go so far as to paint my honda civic that same color scheme, but I always wanted a bike to ride in the city that reflects my pride in the New York Knicks. I think at the time I posted it to fixed gear gallery, we must have been 9-17 or something like that, and NOBODY was at the garden, just a bunch of empty seats–same time they were booing Marbury for being out of shape due to the extensive sneaker tour.

Like the quote from Jerry Ferrara, “I’m a real knicks fan, I go down with the ship.” That is how I felt at the beginning of last year, that is how I feel right now. But we don’t have to worry about that, because this year is going to be different. We are going to win more, no doubt. We’ll let the haters worry about doubts.

“If you’re a Knicks fan or someone who follows the team closely (be it by choice or for a living)”

Alan, how many would you say, between your newspaper, the daily news, the post and the ny times–all of the ny sports media covering the knicks–are in fact knicks fans. I think that may be the problem here. all of the media who are covering the knicks consider their job to be just that, a job. but the people reading their work are real fans, fans that want to see their team succeed. when I read a certain reporter spin any knick story (and I’m not talking about this trial mind you) for the worse, it is an insult to me, because I am a knicks fan. i am not paid to follow the team. i want to follow the team of my own volition. if you are not a knicks fan, try to imagine whatever team you do like (hockey or basketball) try to imagine that team being constantly beat up by the press. it boils our blood.

that is not to say that there have not been mistakes in the organization, or that these mistakes should not be fully chronicled, but this media market leaves the fans who wish to read something positive no choice. it was my hope that your paper would provide knicks fans an alternative to the Vesceys, Isolas, and Bermans. the guys who obviously want the paycheck but aren’t going to do their job they way they should. it was never in your job description to piss us all off to no end. you should be mindful of your audience when you write, no?

look at fox news, they do a great job of telling us what we want to hear. they conceal the atrocities of the iraq war and all the other hidden ugliness around the world and report what they think america should know. that is what i’m looking for in my knicks newspaper. if it can’t be fair and balanced, spin it the other way so that it reads positive. tell us what we want to hear. we may not be a first place team. but most of us believe this team has playoffs written all over it. no one has wrote that story yet, nor will they until two months into the season.

i’m not telling you how to do your job. this is just my opinion on how at least one newspaper in town could do business. because if you pick up any one of those other papers, they’ll all read the same.

why will no paper be a fan’s paper in this town? i don’t care if your are the atlanta hawks, there should be a paper in every nba town that assumes you actually “like” the knicks are are not being “paid” to follow them.
