The game was entertaining…albeit a loss.. McGrady looks he he can be very helpful. I am happy Donnie made the move. This system suits House as well, Serge has got some wheels doesn’t he? too bad this trade could not have gone down 20 games ago.

McGrady and Serge have good court vision.. that will help in this system

100% cosign saipanKnickster.
going to the garden tonight.
i was hoping they’d give out some kind of free t-shirt or something last time to celebrate t-mac’s arrival.
looking forward to it.

i used to hate house’s guts for talking so much smack when he was a celtic.

i think he couldn’t have played better for us the other night.

very solid shooter.

sergio with the slick passes and running the floor.

let’s see what mike d can do with this modified group.

i have a friend at work that is complaining that the knicks can’t make the playoffs.

I’m not convinced they can’t, but I always beleive too much in the Knicks. that’s just the way I am.

LGK!

There is a possibility of them making it in. They have gotta gut it out for real.
yeah i hear you on House I remember him going at Steph when he was still in decent graces around here. Same behavior I dislike in KG (plus his cheapshots usually against lower ecehlon player)
but house can get hot in a hurry..
I hope this new squad revitalizes Bender as well…he looked decent and active saturday.
Hopefully T Mac and Serge will get a feel for Gallo and get him off.
This team albeit small will be hard to guard… they just gotta have good spacing and motion on O. Enjoy the game…I might be able to catch some of it after a meeting.

definitely a buzz in the Garden right?
Again enjoy it!!

No need for Duhon, there’s simply no excuse for D’Antoni playing Duhon at this point aside from lunatic-level stubborness – or deliberate fraud of some kind.

Let’s see S-Rod & T-Mac run the offense moving forward, it was kinda sad to see how much the current Knicks squad were looking to the newcomers for guidance and leadership on the floor during the OK City game.

I hope you enjoy the game KD….please let me know what your impressions of everything are, including D’Antoni…i am quickly losing faith in him being the right guy for any Knicks team. =(

LGK!!!

you’re probably right PaulNoize.
I don’t understand half of D’Antoni’s decisions.
The team didn’t show up tonight.
Since Jeffries has left the defense has really suffered (we knew that was going to happen).
But what’s worse–the rebounding is really out of control now. They doubled our rebounds as a team. Unacceptable.
Don’t know what to think, there may be an adjustment period, but we don’t have any time left with only 27 games remaining.
why does d’antoni not give some more minutes to douglas, he said he would.
Sergio had 8 steals tonight but only one assist. usually it is the other way around for point guards.
T-mac is rusty, his elevation on his shot is not there, he missed a few looks near the basket, that will come with time.
the explosiveness may never return.
looked like d’antoni was envisioning house running the point tonight.
gallinari is slumping.
al harrington didn’t produce.
we sucked tonight.

8 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 12:36 pm

what has happened is that for some reason harrinton is freaked out by McGrady so Harrington is playing like crap and will probably continue to play like this. Do do like Sergio and think he could be the point guard of the future and eddy House can be his back up. As for Jared Jefferies if he was so good why didn’t the Knicks win games. The fact remains they didn’t win because the only had one play David Lee. Now they have McGrady and Lee. If I were the coach I would limit the minutes of both Harrinton and duhan to as little as possible. Those two kill the Knicks. If find it funny how always hear about how good Jared is yet is talent didn’t produce wins. I think the reason the Knicks always talked about Jared’s talent was because they knew they wanted to trade him and we’re trying to build him up. And Jared will be traded again this year because nexty year is the final year of his contract and NBA teams love players with expiring contracts.

I’m going to give Thomas credit here as I always have. He’s great at drafting people. His draft picks have been outstanding. And he did make a great move for Zach Randolph. However the positives of Thomas are outweighed by his inability to sign free agents ie Eddy Curry, Jared Jefferies. That said I think Walsh getting duhan and trading Crawford and Zach was terrible.

9 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 12:54 pm

Donnie can go out and get players, but the coach must get them to win. Right now I’m not thrilled with the coaching. I fear that we’ll get twi free agents keep lee and maybe sergio, but still lose because of coaching.

10 knicksdefense February 23, 2010 at 12:54 pm

Glad nate is gone.
Glad zach is gone.
Glad francis is gone.
Glad jerome james is gone.
Glad jamal crawford is gone.

Glad the knicks have a REAL GM for the first time in a long time..

11 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 1:10 pm

The Knicks gm has made some bad moves ie Duhan, trading Zach and Crawford and maybe even signing this coach. That said I’m willing to give him this summer to prove he can get free agents here and sign his own ie lee and sergio and McGrady if he isn’t completely done.

12 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 1:10 pm

He’s also shown the inability to draft people out of college.

13 saipanknickster February 23, 2010 at 3:49 pm

KD Hopelly they paly better tonite. I know T- Mac may not get his legs for at least another 4- 5 games

14 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 3:53 pm

I don’t know what made donnie walsh believe that chris Duhan a career back up point guard is good enough to start.

15 knicksdefense February 23, 2010 at 4:05 pm

you’re such a twisted fanatic, Walsh hasn’t had the draft picks to make. Isiah traded them all away in all those asinine trades where he bet the farm for the likes of Marbury and Eddy “useless” Curry.

I’ll take Danilo Gallinari over Channing Frye 100 times out of 100.

lee, sergio and t-mac, you say? none are the top priority, but are merely after thoughts in the light of the people available this summer.

isiah thomas got what he deserved, banishment from the nba.

good riddance.

balkman isn’t a basketball player, neither is mardy collins. put that in your
“isiah thomas is the world’s greatest draft talent evaluator” and smoke it.

He also took Nate ahead of Ellis. what a rocket scientist this guy is. you are blind.

You can be an NBA hall-of-famer and still not be qualified to run the Knicks with all that erroneous arrogance from a bygone era.

By the way, Joe Dumars has always done a wonderful job in Detroit. They really made the right decision there.

deep in my heart, I truly despise Isiah Thomas for what he did to the Knicks. I did not hate him not even a little bit until he became holy roman emperor of the new york knicks. I don’t care about players unless they’re on the Knicks. When Isiah was a piston, I could care less about him either way.

“Again, you haven’t won here since 73. 19-73 that is.” Way to talk to your employer (the knicks fans) Isiah. Whay to sh*t all over the legacy of Patrick Ewing, John Starks and Charles Oakley too. You either belong in Detroit, or Indiana, or not at all in the NBA. You sure don’t belong in New York, even Dolan figured that out after 4 years of being stubborn to a fault.

My only regret is that I didn’t clock Isiah with a shoe the way George W. was treated during that press conference.

We didn’t give up Jack Squat for Duhon.

Signing the coach? This is a transitional period. Isiah got HIS GUYS for four years. Walsh hasn’t had HIS GUYS for two years and you’re already being an irrational knick fanatic.

I hate talking about this. I hate Isiah and I’m glad he is gone. You should move down to FIU and quit pretending to be a Knick fan and just follow Isiah around like a lost puppy. or a sick puppy.

Did he not draft jordan hill? Yes he did. Walsh also traded Zach randolph and Crawford. Last time I checked Zach was an all star. Walsh also decided that Duhan someone who never started a game should be the Knicks starting point guard.

18 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 8:34 pm

This is why the Knicks might not sign anyone in free agency. I hope they do and I was in favor of the trade that brought Tmac here, even if he does get hurt. I also like Sergio who was always involved in the deal. I think sergio can be the point guard of the future.

under the N.B.A.’s collective bargaining agreement, a player who stays with his team can sign a six-year contract with 10.5 percent raises. If he leaves, he is limited to five years and 8 percent raises. The Knicks can only offer Lebron a deal with an 8 percent raise. So they might not get Lebron, Bosh, wade or anyone else. But the Knicks can give Lee, Sergio and McGrady an 10.5% raise as opposed to the 8% raise that other teams can give them

19 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 8:58 pm

Also, D’Antoni favored Jordan Hill over Brandon Jennings in the draft.

So as you can tell, its a lot easier for teams to sign their own free agents. teams can give their own players at 10.5% raise and a six year contract.

20 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 9:18 pm

So if you want a big time free agent from another team, you’re going to have to convince them to take a contract of one less year then his current year and 2.5% less in money. That’s why I’m happy we have Mcgrady. If he plays well we can re-sign him and lee and sergio.

21 ed drossman February 23, 2010 at 9:44 pm

I think the key to the mcgrady deal might be Sergio. There’s a chance that McGrady might get injured and the Knicks might not re-sign him him if he’s injured to badly. But the Knicks really need a point guard and Sergio can be that point guard. He’s much better then Duhan. Eddy House is good too. I really like this deal.
