Veteran swingman Jerry Stackhouse, accoring to ESPN, will work out for Donnie Walsh and Mike D’Antoni. The Knicks are interested in signing a player like Stackhouse to a one-year deal, so that the 2010 salary cap space isn’t compromised.
The Knicks remain interested in Ramon Sessions and Jason Williams, though no offers have been made at this point.

found this on wikipedia, a dubious source no doubt, but i submit to the possibility that it could be true:
>>>
During the first round of the 2008 NBA Playoffs between the Mavericks and the New Orleans Hornets, Stackhouse had some harsh words for Hornets coach Byron Scott. In a radio interview, Stackhouse said the following:
“I think it’s just about having personalities that mesh and I think Chris (Paul) is such a great guy, I think he’s been able to kind of deal with Byron Scott. I don’t think Byron Scott is the best coach or I don’t think he’s the best guy to deal with — you know what I’m sayin? — from some things that I’ve heard from other players and just some dealings that I had with him earlier in the season. I was about ready to kick his ass — you know what I’m sayin? He was sitting on the sideline and we just got into a little conversation or something and he was going to tell me, you know, ‘Talk to me when you get a ring.’ I was like, I told that fool, ‘If I played with Magic and Worthy and Kareem I’d have a ring, too. So, you know, he’s a sucker in my book, but that’s a whole other story.”

Wow….on the court i’m not into talking but I do not think Stackhouse was too wrong. I have not seen him play in awhile. but I do not really see him being a fit with the roster or the system…but that being said I guess DW knows the league and has connections so he must know Stack’s rep and what the word on him is. I guess he has all sorts of plan b’s c’s and etc.
Will this be the week something happens with our Knicks?
Eddy Curry losing ten pounds does not really constitute news in my opinion.
Eddy Curry loves to play basketball, now that’s news to me.
Isiah Thomas apologizes to New York City, that would be news to me.
Every time Alan Hahn uses the name “Weatherspoon” to describe the man monitoring for Eddy Curry’s weight management issues, I keep thinking about Clarence Weatherspoon, the former knick foward.
Imagine if Clarence Weatherspoon were in control of Eddy Curry’s training and conditioning program.
I remember when we first got Weatherspoon, I was excited because I saw him get 20 and 10 on the season once in Philadelphia. What he did in New York was much less of course.
I believe that was a Scott Layden decision to get him, wasn’t it?
this guy broke it down for the nets, but it is illuminating to knick fans interested in salary cap issues since the nets are supposedly farther below the cap than the knicks.

Yes Spoon was a layden move. I remember when he was billed as Baby Barkley. I also remember the two Utah guys he brought in Shannon Anderson, and Eisley. I agree with you re: EC hope he brings the fire so that he can bring back some good value.
Remember some of Layden’s other picks Lampe, Vranes, FRANK WILLIAMS?
So glad we moved on from that era.
I hope DW’s patience pays off.
I did not think it was a bad idea to bring Oakley onboard
dwade talks about the knicks.

saipan:
right now, because of the way last season went, I can’t tell the difference between Lampe and Gallinari.
I hope this upcoming season Gallinari makes that distinction clear for us…
Much is banking on Gallinari. Moreso than our project center Jordan Hill.
don’t know if berman actually wrote this before the draft, but this article from way back is encouraging to read at this time:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/06162009/sports/knicks/knicks_having_hill_of_an_idea_174442.htm
KD, I like wade but he is a late model with high mileage driven on city streets if you know what i mean. I would not be surprised that if the right situation opened up that 2 of the bigstars go to one team…. I m not saying necessarily the Knicks but the right pitch could convince them to give it a go together.
Although Gallo played limited minutes,I feel he is way ahead of Lampe
IMO Lampe was a scrub on the NBA level. Gallo surely has only shown potential but he can run, shoot and has more mobilty with the back issues from last year. If he is actually better physically Gallo will be fine. he’s a gamer and he can shoot(not many of those around) looks like he has a nice Bball IQ and can pass.
yes a lot is banking on jim
him not jim sorry
Nice article about Hill by Berman… I remember reading it before it was definitely pre draft.
I hope Hill is working on his body and his moves… hes got some tools and gifts it needs packaging and he will be a solid pro, a dale davis type with more offense.
i liked that AlHarrington is committed to the team. I could be wrong but i think he means it and he will make the team better, and also have more energy to do his thing in the fourth quarter..
Wouldn’t you like to hear some Darko news? I wanna see him in this system
donnie walsh played rucker?
http://www.nypost.com/seven/08152009/sports/knicks/walsh_high_on_darko_184669.htm
What is happening with Ramon Sessions???
I did not know that DW played in Rucker.I heard he grew up playing rec. ball in the bronx.
I coud be wrong but i believe all that clippers wanting Sessions stuff is coming from the agent of Sessions in an attempt to get DW to panic and flinch. It seems clear that they(sessions people) want 5 years at the full midlevel. Dw does not wanna do that bec. of 2010 flexibility. It is a staredown.
I think and hope the Knicks will win. Yet it is taking a little longer than I thought.
I do think Sessions could end up in L.A.
I do not think it would be wise for Sessions to do so, if he has confidence in his abilities to excel at this level, because he would be a third or fourth string guard playing behind B diddy, Eric Gordon and Sebastian Telfair.
Also, just took a look at that roster, they’ve got quite a few former Knicks on there these days:
Marcus Camby
Mardy Collins
Fred Jones
Q was on there for a New York minute, but now he’s playing for Riles in Miami (at least at the time of this bloggin’).
http://twitter.com/gerywoelfel/
knicks are trying to make a trade happen to afford sessions.
I’m rooting for ya Donnie!
LGK!
I still think Sessions agent is behind the Clip talk.
as you wrote he is not a fit there nor does he fill a need
realgm is reporting that Walsh will be trying to get Rubio this week. If that doesn’t work, he’ll then go after sessions again.
believe the hype?
i want to believe.
if walsh gets rubio i would strongly consider getting season tickets this season.
right now i can’t afford it, but i’d do it anyway if we got ourselves a prime-time point guard to run the d’antoni 7-seconds or less…
if not, msgtv for me.
Rubio might pretty good in SSOL system…i know it maybe a stretch but maybe Kahn can give us the McHale type hook-up given to ainge since DW gave his first real shot in the L.
Perhaps the no rush attitude of DW this summer will pay off and Rubio will be a ton cheaper than sessions. but nice to have a plan B
nate got arrested?
what’s up with that?
just bloggin’, but brendan haywood seems like an idiot:
http://brendanhaywood.yardbarker.com/blog/BrendanHaywood/My_Apology/1005097
Steph BWood…….yeah that was weird scenario all the way round
Haywood use no comment more often Brother!
Na8 hmmmmmmmmmmm. glad he did not hit anyone.. gues his insurance is going up!
the Haywood thing is funny because he apologizes about making gay comments, then he calls out Tim Hardaway right at the end of it, basically throwing him under the bus and trying to make light of what his comments were. Good thing these guys play ball because they def aren’t too bright and don’t except responsibility for jack. There’s no integrity left in sports i’m convinced.
That’s not everyone Bilz. There are also players that do the right thing, like D Wade, LeBron and Chris Paul to name a few. Even Charles Smith does the right thing, but he still gets booed every time he plays in the wheelchair game at the garden. Knicks fans can’t forget. Yet they did forget with Starks…
huh?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Knicks-Nate-Robinson-tried-to-get-out-of-ticket?urn=nba,184062
is that what happened?
KD …wow Charled Smith he’s waaaaaaaaay back! I always thought he was more injured than he let on!!! When watching him play he was like two different players… rbounding aggressive and attacking the basket. then other days he was timid and appeared soft. yet during those semi invisible games I saw he limp more as well as walk and run gingerly on the court.
My take is the days he was spry he played well and harder… and obviously wehn he was hurting he did not exert as much and perhaps did not have the explosion. I look it him sort of like ralph sampson… a talented long athletic big, whose careers were limited and ultimately derailed by joint issues.
Also Smith was fouled errr make that mauled…I guess the Hubert davis call was payback My 2 cents….
