Donnie Walsh is trying to sign and trade David Lee

by knicksdefense on June 7, 2009

I knew it.

Well, if they’re moving Lee, you BETTER get quality in return, and not just picks.  Walsh is sticking to his 2010 guns, we’ve got a year left of patience to see how it turns out.  We will get at least one all-star, but we should get two out of it.

As far as the finals are concerned, I’ve always considered the Lakers to be the stronger team, and I expect them to win today, but I’m rooting for the Magic because of Ewing and Van Gundy.  I also like the way Turkoglu plays and hope that Danilo Gallinari can grow into that kind of player for the Knicks faithful.

We need to get Thabeet or Rubio out of this draft…   Right now, it is not happening.  Curry is too short to defend the two in the NBA, he may put up good numbers on the other side of the floor, but that isn’t going to help us any more than it did when Isiah had Marbury and Crawford ruining things for us in the back court.

Orlando looks like they might steal this…
8 minutes to go and orlando is in striking distance down one.

Starks4ThreeYes and saipanknickster, you guys are basically carrying this blog at this point, thanks for contributing to Knicksdefense!

Woke up this morning to reports of Gortat coming to new york as a restricted free agent. extra reason to pay attention the nba finals, if dwight gets in foul trouble, it’s scouting time.

KD thanks for the props… hope all is well however I must say that as a former blogger (whom I know you will recall) once said you are the one that keeps it all together here. Thanks for your graciousness and hard work.

I have not seen much of Gortat… he seems a little slow for 7 seconds or less, yet he appears to be a battler and tough… that we could use. I would really like to re instate some of Rileys Ruies…. No Rebounds No Rings…No free layups… No helping up the opposing players after a foul etc

I know the L watches this kinda stuff more than back in the day but the Knicks as a team need to develop some league cred with teams and the refs and respect will come when mixed in with talent.

This is a big summer for us..I know about the 2010 plan but DW needs to show the L and players that the team takes a step forward this year and that the Knicks are for real.

It will be nice to see, read and hear about the workouts today(guards) and tomm.
Peace

Gortat stat line from last night against the lakers:

5 min 0-1fg 1pf 0p 0r 0b

This kid Curry sure is a confident young man. I think we should take him at 8 if he is still there.

I know, defense. But still, something tells me this kid has special potential on the level of John Starks.

Wow. On the level of John Starks? That’s a pretty high level. Starks was an All-Star [one year, but forever in our hearts]. No one on the current team has been an all star.

If Donnie and Dantoni really want Curry, I hope they are able to trade down and get him. I’m sure there are teams who are eager to move up for guys like Demar Derozan or Tyreke Evans. Maybe they could move down a couple spot and get another pick or something.

When you’re talking about special potential, don’t forget that Adam Morrison was drawing comparisons to Larry Bird coming out of college.

Well Gortat bears more watching to see if he is a player.

Kid Curry does seem charisma, smarts and a willingness to be on the big stage. that’s gotta be worth something. I also sure that he learned a thing or two at his father’s side while growing up. lastly his mom was a volleyball player in college.

I’d be comfortable with him as a pick. The system this team runs NEEDS shooters at several positions and several on the floor at once

sick new format.

looking forward to hearing feedback on the evans and jennings workouts and a little more insight into the lawson and flynn workouts. i’m kind of praying that somebody outshines kid curry at some point. i don’t doubt that he’ll be a sharpshooting specialist, but i’m not sure if i would draft steve kerr #8 either.

hey fellas KD nice new look clean bright layout and easy on the eyes!!

I think SCurry has a much better handle than Kerr he appears to have a midrange game and can pull up on a drive better passer
My 2 cents… looks like jennings stock is rising.

Somehow I hope the Knicks deep pockets turns out to be a plus this summer and next!!
