Danilo was sent packing to Italy to see if the Italian doctors can confirm that he needs back surgery.
Duhon, due to the heavy minutes of the season, is not the same in terms of the effectiveness he displayed earlier for the Knicks at the one spot.
David Lee sat out last night’s loss to the Magic in Orlando with knee problems. He is currently listed as day-to-day but remarked that he wants to play in tomorrow’s game against the Magic at Madison Square Garden.
We’ve lost four in a row at this point.
Keep looking at the loss column as the regular season draws to its close. Right now, the Knicks have already lost 41 games on the season. The team currently in the 8th position with little more than a month to go in the regular season is Chicago. The Bulls have lost 38 games this season. The team that finishes in the 8th spot will have the formidable distinction of facing LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavs in the first round of the 2009 NBA Playoffs.
Haven’t had the chance to catch much march madness this year, haven’t had the chance to catch the Knicks as much as I’d usually prefer, the new job has been such a time and energy sucker this season. I do want to go to some Knick home games in April, hopefully that will happen.
Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni still thinks the Knicks are in the race for the 8th and final playoff spot in the east, I read somewhere he believes 37 wins gets you into the playoffs. I don’t agree. 40 wins might not get you in if certain teams start to get hot.

I hate walking past MSG and thinking the Knicks are so close to making the playoffs, but will probably not. How sick would it be if they did clinch it?
THE CANCER
Hope sprung eternal at the top of the season.
If things didn’t go well, The Cancer would be the reason!
All around the 34th, people asked “What can we do? What can be done?”
The answer became “We’ll send The Cancer into oblivion!”
Now, here we are at the end of the line.
Hope has vanished! Things are not “fine”!
Both saviors have failed. The team has shown sighs of fatigue.
My Goodness, they were even blown out by the worst team in The League!
Still not a word from The Doughboy or The Flunky
Things up in Corporate have become very funky!
“Upon whom should we now place the blame?
Should it be The President, The Coach, The Players or the speed of the game?
Solutions should be coming soon, but why worry?
We can always blame this newest mess on Stephon Marbury”!
Who said this? The losing Culture in Changing
at 2 Penn Plaza? Who doesn’t play better under Mike D’antoni? Ha Ha Ha Ha ha ha ha……
KD your intelligents is = to a Door Knob!
LMAO……………………………..
my pre-season prediction was that the Knicks would win 38 games. I will soon turn out to be wrong. But why is it so necessary that there is someone to blame? How will that change anything? It wasn’t Walsh’s fault or D’Antoni’s fault or Duhon’s fault or anyone’s fault. If blaming Dolan will actually make anyone feel better, I remind you that the Knicks may have been very bad these past years, but they are still not the Bengals.
The Knicks just don’t have that many good players. They don’t have a center. They don’t have a lights out shooter. They don’t have a backup point guard. They don’t have a lock down defender. They don’t have a go-to guy in the fourth quarter.
But we all knew this! Don’t get too discouraged. They were fun to watch this year, but they’re just not that good. Rebuilding takes more than one season [unless you have Paul Pierce, then pull KG and RayRay and draft Rondo].
Relax, people. We all saw this coming. No need to start pointing fingers and throwing around accusations.
Whoever said that 28 wins with a full month to play wasn’t better than 23 wins FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON should just quit posting under other respected bloggers because their own blog identity has lost all credibility.
A tree is known by its fruit.
Poisonous people are known throughout the knick blogosphere as such and need no further introduction.
These scrubs hang out and wait for the Knicks to fail so that they can feel good, because when the Knicks win, it really f*cks them up inside that someone can come in and do a better job than their beloved hero who was finally kicked to the curb for botching up four years of lottery picks and free-agent signings.
If for no other reason this season was an improvement upon the last because the mistakes of Marbury, Crawful and Jerome “Big Snacks” James have finally been erased.
It still boggles my mind that some people who love to hate the Knicks team would run a website claiming to be FOR knick fans.
I cheer for Mike D’Antoni, Donnie Walsh, Danilo Gallinari and Chris Duhon. That’s right, that’s my team as it is currently constructed, and that’s what makes me a Knicks fan.
If you don’t cheer for those people I suggest you find another team because they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. They’ll get their obligatory four years trial run just like the last two guys that came in here and tried to get the Knicks to win again. Until then, real knicks fans, I wish you well.
Donnie Walsh was the GM or President in Indiana for how long? What did they ever win? D’Antoni had Souudemire, Nash, a two time MVP, Shawn Marion and a host of role players who have all been successful in The League. What did he ever win? I understand your frustration, believe me. I am an Oakland Raiders fan. So, you know that I know suffering. Therefore, when I speak of ineffective ownership, you should at least hear what I am saying. The Knicks will never be anything as long as The Doughboy is in charge. NEVER!!! That should be obvious even to you diehard NY Knicks fans, which I used to be until I watched them exhibit no loyalty to their best players and ship Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Bernard King and Patrick Ewing off into the hinterlands as soon as they felt that these players had lost a step or two. The other night, they had a awards night for the best Knicks players of the last five decades. How many of them actually retired as Knicks? Open your eyes!!
I am predicting this now so that when it reaches fruition, it won’t seem as though I was a Johnny Come Lately. Soon enough, you will be able to add the name of Donnie Walsh to this list: Al Bianchi, Scotty Sterling, Dave Checketts, Scott Layden and Isiah Thomas. It is the same game going all the time.
KD how are you man? hope you are well
Best wishes w/ the new job
I hope the coach lets the prospects play to see what they’ve got
Whats up SaipanKnickster, yeah, the season is lost, time to see what the prospects can do.
Another question on the coaches’ mind, does D’Antoni raise or lower Curry’s trade value by playing him in the remaining games of the season? Curry really turned out to be a bust trade in every way.
E. Feggins,
Open your eyes. Everybody knows Dolan is the worst owner in sports, what can anyone do about it? You can go pick a new team, I’m staying on this ship that has already sunken three times over.
I say the other two “presidents” had four full years to fail, the people that don’t give walsh that same time in new york to prove himself are impatient.
Oh, Isiah Lord Thomas is talking to the Clippers. I really do hope he gets the job, honestly.

Guys
Knicks are in FAN HUMILIATION MONTH mode!
Hahaha KnicksD
You use a broad brush to attack everyone on the Fanatics web site. And do so for everyone who doesn’t have the same opinion of this current Knicks regime as you.
You should read closer b/c there is a broad variety of opinion on the Knicks Fanatics site.
seriously look over our LBEs and you’ll see that not all is black and white.
That’s all I have to say.
KD all is well
I think the Knicks have nothing to lose by playing Curry…His value has got to be low now since he did not play much all year
O&B how you doin bro?
Peace to you
Saipan
Good to read you.
Doing well,… so far.
I’m down with playing Curry and giving shine to the guys acquired via trade or temporary signings.
See if there are any keepers still left around.
The season isn’t a total failure with the ferreting out of contracts that exceeded the talents and transcendency of the players signed to them (Z-Bo and Crawford), and plenty of dead weight was ferreted out (James LOL).
While I’m good with those moves, perhaps Z-bo might have been allowed to stay on to put up X-Box 360 numbers and land us a higher level draft pick. But hindsight is 2010.
I like that D’antoni mixed up the rotation and did play a balance of defensive players and scoreres, Jeff, hughes in the mix was good to see.
Still i have plenty of doubts with his style of play and whether the scoring side of the ball alone is the foundation of a Championship team.
To that end I really don’t think he is the answer for the Knicks.
every loss is a win at this point.
why is joe crawford on the knicks roster for this box score?

O&B… I always enjoy reading you as well
I think that just as well the Knicks need defensive minded guys.`
These cats are professionals and they need to leave it all out there on both ends of the court!
