Knicks Pickup Al Harrington

I’m writing from work, not a place where I have time to do a full write-up, but apparently Peter Vescey is reporting the deal with Malik Rose being sent out and Harrington once again playing for Donnie Walsh.

The irony is multi-layered.  Isiah Thomas went after Harrington for years during his tenure as president of basketball operations for the New York Knicks.

Yeah, i caught this too KD. Malik is not fully confirmed yet, as Crawford’s name has also been mentioned as the outbound Knickerbocker.

Either way, it seems like a prelude to sending Zach or Lee out of town. As it is, we’d have both Z-Bo and Lee making HUGE bucks next year as 6′9″ power forwards, Harrington brings a different skill set but he is essentially a third, expensive, 6′9″ power forward.

Something’s got to give. My guess is Lee & Crawford get packaged for Chris Kaman and a pick, perhaps a nice one. We’d probably have to agree to take on some salary dross to get a first, perhaps by swapping Big Snacks for – get this – a returning Tim “Fugazy” Thomas.

Marbury gets inserted into the starting lineup and makes a late push for the All-Star team!

Seriously, he is on the ballot. i voted for him and urge all KD’ers to do the same! =)

Al Harrington, Zach and Lee all play the same position. If you make this trade, you’ll have to then trade two of the three players. It doesn’t make sense.
