Happy Birthday to Knicks Defense
August 6, 2008 – 11:23 am
It has been one full year of having the pleasure of blogging with some of the sharpest basketball minds in cyberspace. Thank you for reading and contributing to Knicks Defense. It has been a blast. I look forward to next season, which will hopefully–not definitely–bring improvement to our troubled Knicks.
In just one year, through a myriad of debates and opinions, we blogged in 223 posts and 23425 comments on our New York Knicks. As passionate Knicks fans, we started the game day live blog that is now being copied by the others. We even managed to offend Frank Isola, so we must have been doing something right. Some of our best bloggers, through their innovation, invented great catch phrases that are now being used all over the net.
Again, thank you all for just bloggin’ here on Knicksdefense.com.

I’ll take two of what Cooley just ordered…..lol
Seriously, this blog had been an oasis in a desert of garbage.
We had our disagreements, but just like any other “family”, we’ve always been able to “right the ship”.
Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to “mesh minds” with you fellas. Here’s to another year of postin’ and toastin’, my brother.

thanks defenders for the shout out.
a few blips on the radar you may have already heard by now.
the new schedule is out.
the heat are thinking about picking up marbury if he’s bought out.
and the knicks get a new assistant coach, someone I’ve never heard of.
The worst one was the rumor about “lebron would say yes to $50 mil a year in Europe.”
The same people who believe for one second that lebron would play for the nets over the knicks believe this newest piece of hype.

O.K…It took me a while BUT,here is the real story on SHAQ & KOBE.
It seems that Shaq was having a dinner party with Kobe and other former Laker players.Shaq had prepared a fish dinner for all his guess. After the dinner Shaq was asking all his guess,’how was the fish dinner?’.After asking Kobe over and over again about the fish dinner.
Shaq finally yelled out “KOBE TELL ME HOW MY BASS TASTE!!

Ha Ha!
Tell me how my BASS taste!
Ha Ha!
Yo on a more serious note.
Anyone here know how we can catch some footage or reruns of the Italian National Team, this summer.
Since Nilo basically short changed my viewing expectations during the summer league I was wondering if anyone here through their sources could inquire about where to check out Nilo this Summer.
I’m surprised MSG doesn’t run some Italian National Team reruns, since it would be a good way to get us Knicksheads to check out the station and assess Nilo’s game even further.

Anyword on this front?

This is a good place to be when one desires to read and share, news, opinions an the like re the Knicks. and and
This space is populated and frequented by some downright scholarly gentlemen and Roundball afcianados from seemingly all angles and many kool kats. It has been a tumutous year in many ways. Yet the blog still stands
and for my brethren(because you all make it possible) I say congrats
LeBron’s I’ll listen to the Greek offer comment smacks of a business type comment (remember MJ’s famous Republicans by sneakers too comment re Harvey Gant’s campaign in NC?) and also it could mean bye bye to the mistake on the lake(if there are any natives from Cleveland or any with ties and/or connections thereto i’m only joking)

Is it me, or does something about this seem “strange”.Earl Boykins is now the highest paid player in Italy. In his 10 years here he had a tough time getting a game. With all due respect to a little man who deserves big respect,3and 1/2 mil is not major money for a playoff team who needs a back up point. So why then is it such a big deal that Gallo’s domination of the Real Eastern League, the Euroleague, proves to be such a significant credential.Maybe the kid can become a player, and maybe not. He’s probably somewhere in the middle. How important was Kukoc to Chi?Dirk is great, but you can’t really call him a superstar. He failed the “carry” test. Can you carry your team to a championship.Too bad!Now Duncan and the Argentinian contingent(Those dudes, including Oberto, Ginobli, Scola and a few others are certified thugs, but in the most positive way. Maybe it’s the water?).Point is european ball is still way overated, except in smarts and effort. If we, the USA, play good defense and hit the outside shot in the Olys, nobody can play with us.We, NBA players in general, are victims of pride, laziness and disrespect. In short we are victims of our own hubris. Those Euro dudes know they can’t play with us, but they also know that we are capable of losing a game.In ancient Rome when the conquering commander rode through Rome wearing a victorious wreath and enjoying His triumph, a servant rode in the chariot behind the hero, and whisper in his ear,”You are mortal!”.Coach K, you need to hire a few of those whispering servants if we’re going to win this thing. We need a wake up call.
Some private musings, If I were running a place like, let’s say Dubai, halfway between NYC and Hong Kong, which is also intent on becoming the strategic business center of the world I would need accepted showcase trophies, ie a stock exchange, magnif hotels and attractions.I have unlimited resources and I’m not afraid to spend them to become the new, New York City of the world, I would think about buying a Euroleague franchise that I could upgrade to an international NBA franchise, or just a straight up franchise. You say no, expansion money is split equally.Remember most franchises run in the red and also remember only the USA loves to sell off pieces of itself to foreigners.Remember also, money is no real problem because Dubai controls oil. What would It need to be taken seriously besides an arena(built), unlimited luxury jets and fuel, and an unlimited budget. They need a star and a team.Should the richest per capita country in the civilized world reach out to an Earl Boykins, or perhaps they could do a little better than that seeing that a luxury tax would only cause a tiny smile. How does $30 -$50 million a year sound? And they could afford a lot more than one player.Fasten your seatbelt David. The big boys may want to sit down and play at this table. What do you think the Dolans would say to a 1 billion dollar offer? The Dubai Knicks? with Kobe, Lebron, Odin, CP and Wade as the starters.Sound impossible? We’ll see.Kind of sends a little scary chill through you, doesn’t it!Think Dodgers, think 5, 6, 7, bucks a gallon for gas.Don’t be fooled by dropping gas prices. We have an election coming up!Well, at least we’ll still have the Brooklyn Nets!
Oh, by the way,Crazy Ed(d)y, what’s your weight TODAY!Time to get in shape.LGK

O&B, don’t know about the italian games here in the states, and i’ve been looking for that info. i know nbatv sometimes shows euro basketball during our off season but this is a different animal.
I doubt dolan sells the knicks or the rangers because they’re both great free advertising for the cablevision company.
