Lives! Welcome back dude, cosign on if they move D Lee they will miss him. When I think of all the knicks who might get a rebound and throw a connecting 70-ft outlet pass, i'd just like to see D lee in D'antoni's system before making any predictions on whether D'antoni likes Lee enough to keep him

But as the season ended I realized it might have been lee's last. he's a solid player with a modest contract. how many guys can we say that about currently?

I don't know who the knicks are going to keep, but like you, I know who they would miss.

Great analysis of Gallinari's first game in a knicks jersey (well, sort of, summer league...). looking forward to seeing more from this guy, they say alot of defense is attitude, this guy seems to be a competitor, so maybe what he doesn't already know he can learn on the fly, and if not, better make sure we outscore our opponents ;)

Good PM Defenders! I pray all are having a productive and constructive Wednesday!

Up until now I didn't believe in Ghost, but like most things time and a bit of wisdom can certainly change your persepctive. Glad to see MY Dear Brudder LIVES chime in and drop some KNOWLEDGE and OPINION...I am almost certain our Host with Most has a chair next to a table that is left available for Para-Normal Brudder can squat and eat some of Bernie Mac's milk and Cookies...LOL

I have been scouring the various spheres this AM and I am blown away by all of the acrimony, anger, disgust, disappointment, and cynicism regarding Walsh not trading ZBO, and towards ZBO, Isiah, and I'm hopeful none of this folks handle my financial portfoio, if so, I'm in a helluva of a lot of trouble...LOL LOL

Paitences, patiences, and more patiences...No intelligent person trades an asset and recieves less than the asset is worth. Only a fool would that in their personal life, and the same can be said in the world of business. Secondly, I read on one blog where ZBO game is not suited for the system. I've said it before and i will say it again, it is quite obvious, many who posts have not played ball in the environs that propel BBALLcareers, cuase some of the thinking is downright ludicrous and farcical. Now I am a true believer in Prior Proper Planning beats Piss Poor Performance. But, living 2010 is so ridiculous, because so many things can happen between now and then. Careers, Conutries, Events, LIVES, change daily and putting all your eggs in any one basket is foolish and could bear very little fruit....
YOU LIVE IN THE MOMENT! We are one or two pieces away at making a run at this thing and despite are poor play over the last two years, we will be one of the few teams in the Eastern Conference that will bring back a core of players that are familiar (Boston, Wizards, Orlando, and Cleveland at the others as it stands at this moment) and I think that is truly a plus for us for this reason. Our new style of play excites real BBALERS. Some OPTIMISM ALONG WITH SOME DISCIPLINE FROM THE COACH could make all of the difference....

Adding the right pieces are important than getting rid of pieces. We've added to good solid pieces in Gallo and Duhon, and I willing to Walsh the benefit of the doubt that he will find thwe other pieces we need in due time and at the proper time...

ONE LOVE DEFENDERS!

It’s good to see some Knicks basketball, although it is only the Summer League. Watching Chandler was a kissy kissy for a Knicks Defender/Fanatic poisoned with an apple rotting from a 23 win season and cursed with a bad case of the Boston Celtic runs to a championshit. In other words, it woke me up. And so did the play by the latest child prodigy – Danny, as Q called him the other night.

A win is not always a win, but any victory now changes the atmosphere at MSG and provides an opportunity for optimism. Yes, we know that the promise of summer league is but a tease but me likey some good foreplay. (Yeah, yeah. Last summer we got great foreplay before getting funked. I know, I know.)

Gallinari is a little bit of a basketball tease. He piqued my interest. His upside is apparent. It is impossible to judge his ceiling because it depends so much on his opportunities, coaching, teammates and the team’s style of play. But, I agree with the consensus in that this boy can play.

Still, I am a little disappointed. Gallinari was a feel good story, but I did not see anything different than what I saw on the miles of You-tube video. He is an offensive prodigy, but he is currently defensively deficient. It is his defensive liabilities that will prevent him from being an NBA star. (Go on and mention Gilbert “No D” Arenas, a man who has lacks the leadership skills and often the common sense (see his blog) to lead a champion.)

On offense, I stand by my earlier description of him as a “black hole.” Don’t you see the Zach Randolph in is face up game. No he does not do a million jab steps before burrowing into the heart of the defense. Instead he over-dribbles until he can set up his move – kinda like Jamal Crawford. I bet, Danilo will be required to lose the emphasis on that dribble penetration move where his long beautiful first step is followed by a yo-yo crossover dribble that catches the defender off balance and sitting on the back of his heels as Danilo whizzes by. The NBA, not the Summer League version, is too fast and big for that move to work with any consistency. The defense collapses in the paint too quickly for that move to work without a deadly pull up jumper to fall back on. He will not be able to run regularly into the paint without getting called for offensive fouls, at least not unless Stern knights the Rooster in front of the refs before every game. He will not be allowed to run players over, at least not for the first year and a half. Kobe and LeBron lost playoff series, in part, because of their over-reliance on that one-on-one drive from the top of the key move.

Fortunately, Kid Galinari has a sweet shot and a jumper that will remind you of Kevin Garnett and Toni Kukoc. He has a dribble that will remind you of large point forwards like Scottie Pippen. When he learns “his” NBA game and the coaches learn how to use him, he should be proficient and efficient offensively.

A superstar? I still only see a good sixth man on a good team. I lack imagination, I guess.

Tonight I saw nothing defensively from the young kid. He often stood around in the lane for four or more seconds and looked lost as he roamed around the basket. Actually, in his first NBA caliber competition after a couple of practices, that should be expected. However, he demonstrated no “instinct” for defense. That same hunger and intensity that he has with the ball in his hand, he does not show on the other end. Those of you who play ball know what I am talking about. There are ball hogs and there are ball hounds. Gilbert Arenas is a ball hog. David Lee is a ball hound. Renaldo Balkman is a ball hound. He can’t shoot worth diddly, but he has a hunger for the ball. (Zach is a hog of a hound)

By contrast, Gallinari’s drive is turned on when he has the ball. Like most youngsters his victories come with putting the ball in the basket. His retorts to being scored upon don’t come in the form of steals or blocks, but jumpers, forced drives and dunks.

Watch Gallinari when the opposition has the ball. Bad footwork. He is constantly crossing his feet and getting turned sideways while he is getting beat off the dribble. He is slower and unbalanced on defense which should not be the case with such a wide wingspan. He will not stop guys his size and bigger. (Yes, I know: defensive development is likely to be secondary and takes a longer time and will probably take a much longer time under D’Antoni.)

We talk about how resilient he is after being bounced around in the paint, but he does not put any of that ample body on anyone when the opposition shot goes up. The big difference between him and Eddie Curry is that he at least jumps, but he is often out of position or he is not strong enough to hold his position. This is interesting, because we suggest that he will grow and add on bulk but the kind of defense his position and body requires demands more than bulk. It demands a very defensive attitude.

It is foolish to make predictions at this ridiculously early point, but I will dare to be foolish and say that the Knicks will miss David Lee (when traded) for a long while before Gallo is anointed the chosen one. He is hungry but not like David Lee is hungry. Not yet anyway. David Lee knows that in order to stay in the league he has to get to the ball. He is a worker. By contrast, I see Gallinari as the privileged prodigy who does not yet go after the ball, but expects it to come to him. Just ask his Italian teammates who will tell you that they relied on Gallo in crunch time. Everyone knew the ball was going to him and he would make something happen – like Crawford, not MJ.

I want to be wrong and I want Gallinari to succeed as a Knick. No one really knows how he will mature mentally, but he is headed in the right direction. I want Gallinari to develop a fire on both ends of the court like Garnett. Not like Nowitzki. Not like Kukoc. He has the body, but when will he get the mind set? Will he ever be a complete package?

At least he looks like he will help us enjoy the journey to the answer.

Hold up Hold up here is the story originally from hoopsworld.

"Marcus Camby to the Clips?
A source with knowledge of the situation has told HOOPSWORLD the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers are discussing a deal which would send center Marcus Camby to the west coast.
With Elton Brand departing for Philadelphia, the Clippers have around $12 million to spend this summer. Since LA is under the salary cap, the Clippers could absorb Camby's salary without giving Denver anything in return. However, it is expected that if a deal is consummated, the Nuggets would get at least one draft pick in return.

For the Clippers, the deal would give the team a formidable frontline of Chris Kaman and Camby to complement the backcourt play of Baron Davis and rookie Eric Gordon.

The deal would help lessen the Nuggets' payroll and give the team more financial flexibility moving forward. The 34-year-old Camby is due to make $8 million this season and $7.65 million in the final year of his deal in 2009-10.

The Clippers reportedly had dialogue this weekend about acquiring Zach Randolph from the New York Knicks in a deal that would have accomplished a similar goal for the Knicks.

The source emphasized that no deal has been completed as of yet. Stay tuned to HOOPSWORLD for the latest."

The Clippers may be trying to induce Walsh to budge and give up Gumbo for nothing.

Can Camby provide post offense? No!

That is what they were trying to replace in Brand. Gumbo does that better than Camby. Kaman can do the shot blocking, and would compliment Gumbo better than a Camby Kaman lineup.

Let's see what is confirmed over the next several hours before we- including me- jump off the tracks.

If this is so then I still think Gumbo could get sent to LA- the Lakers that is in a multi team.

The deal would help lessen the Nuggets’ payroll and give the team more financial flexibility moving forward.

Stay tuned to HOOPSWORLD for the latest.”

Let’s see what is confirmed over the next several hours before we- including me- jump off the tracks.

If this is so then I still think Gumbo could get sent to LA- the Lakers that is in a multi team.

Well, the Nuggets took the deal we didn't,

The Clippers on Tuesday agreed to terms on a deal with the Denver Nuggets to acquire center Marcus Camby as their replacement for Elton Brand, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Clippers will only have to surrender a future second-round pick to acquire Camby, who is being jettisoned into the Clippers' salary-cap space vacated by Brand to generate payroll relief for the Nuggets.

Maybe that's too much, maybe not.I can see us pushing Collins in the trade.Once you add Balk,we have got to get more bodies for this year's roster.LAC doesn't have much to offer in terms of talent. N8 would be a better back up for Davis. If so, we would need 2 first rounders (2009 & 2010) and Jordan. There's nothing wrong with a 7-8 players trade.Add Q,Jefferies & James to the talks also.
