Golden State offers Elton Brand $90 Million; is Monta Ellis the next player to shake loose from the Warriors?
July 2, 2008 – 3:30 pmCan the small-market Golden State Warriors afford to resign Monta Ellis after throwing the checkbook at Elton Brand today? Brand has yet to say yes, but how do you say no to 90 mil?
If they haven’t already, teams will line up to speak with Mr. Ellis’ representation.
The Knicks’ hands are tied if they’re holding out for 2010’s free agents (LeBron, D-Wade, and Chris Bosh). The kind of contract Ellis would be looking for would not match the size or length of contract the Knicks are looking to use on a point guard this summer.

Good PM Defenders!
Interesting Development! It appears the Warriors are playing a little Tit for Tat. The Clippers offer Baron Davis 100 Million, and then Mr. Mullins muddies the LA drinking water for Mr. Davis by trying to snatch his new Tag Team Partner the big fella Elton Brand before he even arrives. Oooooh, Ain’t it Funky Now, uh huh, uh huh…
This Free Agent period is going to be sure nough live with all types of Chills and Thrills. BTW, I won’t be mad if the the Knicks sigh Duhon, no siree bob… He would be a good pick up and would add a much needed defensive presence in the backocurt, and his assist to turnover ratio ain’t bad either. Now, that does not preclude us from going after a younger more offensively gifted PG too, if it is the intent of this MGMT TEAM to rid themselves of Marbury. And, do all of this without giving up DLEE just yet. We also need help in the front court. A young bruiser who blocks shots and rebounds and sets great picks. Basically all the things ECITY doesn’t do…
ONE LOVE!

O&B
Thank’s for the explanation of your Lakers,Knicks, Kings trade. Makes sense with Artest bringing D to Lakers. I missed the three way part of it.

what’s up CooleyHigh, I hear you on David Lee.
DLT, looks like we’re fighting Orlando for Duhon’s services.
Kevin Harewood, if you understand O&B’s proposed trade, is it feisable? If artest is going to the lakers, what does that mean for the Knicks? Three team trades are less popular in recent years for some reason.

@KnicksD #5
I posted that article FOR YOU @ #2.
I don’t think we are the only 2 teams looking at Duhon.
I heard Miami,LAC and maybe Denver are interested too.
And we are ONLY offering 2 years-3.5million.

@KnicksD
You know everyone likes to take shots at New York. The real truth is EVERY PLAYER wants to call MSG their home.It’s the basketball Mecca.I just hope Duhon and others understand that we are turning the corner in New York and (as Sam Cooke says)”it’s been a long,long time comin’,but I know-o-o-,change goin’ come.”

No beef just veggies dude.
I think the trade is plausible and would work for all teams involved.
Sacramento loses Artest who is not to thrilled to be in Sac town, and who is rumored not to be wanted in Sactown anylonger. They get a solid double double guy in Lee, an expiring contract in Rose, A long defensive glue guy in Jefferies, and a young athletic Wingman in Trevor Ariza from Los Angeles.
LA gets Artest the shut down player on the wing that could neutralize Paul Pierce, should they meet them again the Finals, They get a tough 20-10 rebounder in Zach Randolph who will likely benefit from being on a team with strong leadership, lastly the Lakers can groom Ronaldo Balkman as Artest’s defensive lock down heir apparent.
The Knicks in losing Lee and Randolph replenish their front cour by getting a versatile 4 who could thrive under D’antoni and a solid rebounder, midrange jump shooter and intangibles payer in Brad miller from La and Sacramento. La also throws in Mihm as filler who would be mor servicable than the big stiff Jerome James. By Acquiring Miller, Odom, and Mihm the Knicks get players whose contracts expire in 2010, and dump players like Z-Bo, and Jefferies whose contract extends beyond that date.
As I said before I checked the trade on the Real GM trade check and it goes through.
I hope the Knicks consider this scenario.
