KnicksD,
I say Redd’s salary is too much…..it’s the one position we have, a good shooting guard in Crawford, and for less money.
If you can swing a trade including Crawford and an unwanted contract(one of the JJ’s),GREAT!
As for a GM, I just hope it’s someone that other teams will work with(like KG to Boston,or Gasol to LA,type of deals).

really dlt, redd makes more than crawford? i thought he only had two years left at 30 mil.
well i don’t know who just finished watching the game but sure looked to me that whistle should have been blown when kobe reached in at the top of the key for his 5th steal of the game and came down and dunked it. in terms of ratings drama, with the lakers now going to boston for the last two, it is better that the series gets extended to 6 or 7 games, but that was a pretty clear reaching in foul that any county rec ref could have made in their sleep.

David Stern seems to have a lot in common with the captain of the Titanic.Hopefully, its not going down with de ship.”Full speed ahead and damn the icebergs! This ship is unstinkable!”.Well, maybe and maybe not.Mr Donaghy is floating 7/8ths submerged dead ahead, and steersman Bavetta and Crawford seem to have the captain’s confidence although their driver’s licenses need to be revoked.Either they need to go to Florida so they can make calls out of the windows of their Lexi at the other senior citizens, or perhaps they simply should make reservations at Club Fed because they just can’t seem to blow a whistle at key moments.Too bad because that lets out doorman service as a part-time position.Oh wait a minute, they don’t need a part-time position, they already have them jogging up and down NBA sidelines counting fouls they didn’t call.Let’s see, there was the San Antonio debacle, where the NBA actually apologized for a last minute missed call that ended the Spurs season. To bad Pop, but there’s always the every other year streak t uphold.Way to be a good soldier! And last night it was Bavetta trotting up the left sideline who chose not to call Kobe’s obvious body blow to Pierce, down two and closing fast.Point is even if Kobe touched the ball, which is doubtful,he did obviously hit Pierce hard enough in the side to put him off balance. No foul?If you play the game you have probably learned that refs almost automatically call reach-arounds even with no sight, let alone some contact.Bavetta as on the left and had to see everything.Kobe may be MVP, but he is clearly not Mike, sorry M. Jackson, so how does he rate an MJ call? Maybe it’s wishful thinking? But good no call for the sponsors Dick. Not so great for David and your rep for honesty. But back to the “unsinkable” NBA.Maybe you are unsinkable, after all you are on TV!So is Flavy Flav. But if even one of Donaghy’s claims of fixing by another ref,or suit proves to be true,it may be that your company refs have already “holed” de ship.In fact “De ship may be sinking!”It’s already definitly stinking!”Turn the wheel David!Turn the wheel!LGK

NEW YORK (AP) — Madison Square Garden, which last hosted an NCAA tournament game in 1961, is hoping its $500 million renovation will help it land the East Regional championship as early as 2012.

did you see the plans for that Tman? I posted them on here a while ago. will look for them, hold up…

Interesting,
Last week, the Garden announced it was going ahead with the renovation, prompting officials involved with the Moynihan Station plan to claim the Garden was bluffing in order to secure a better negotiating position. Approvals for renovations would be needed, the officials said, and the Garden would be foolish to give up the opportunity for a new arena.
But Garden executives today, in a presentation for reporters on the plans, said the renovation would require a building permit and not any other government approvals, and construction could start next year, finishing for the 2011-2012 NBA season. Should the Moynihan plans have come together, the earliest the new Garden would have opened was for the 2012-2013 season, people involved in the discussions say.
The number of seats, as well as the Garden’s physical structure, are to stay essentially the same, though suites would be moved closer to the floor; seating on the upper tiers would be angled for closer views; new restaurants and bars would be added; the Seventh Avenue entrance would be remade; and concourses would be expanded.
An expansion would have required mayoral and City Council approvals, a harrowing prospect given the desire by officials to have the Garden move to Farley.
We have a new Governor, a dealmaker…Politics makes strange bedfellows, ask ex-Gov. Spitzer. The Garden is flush with cash. It’s hard to believe a new Garden that gives a bigger piece of NYC tourist money pie would be undesirable in the long run.Stay tuned to further negotiating results. Both the state and the city need new money and this deal could be lucrative to both if played right. Thanks for the info.LGK

Tman, I hadn’t head the bluffing theory until just now, but it makes sense. I know bloomberg has said on the record several times that the city needs a new madison square garden, as far back as when there was that whole west side stadium / bid for the olympics however many years ago that was.
i understand the nostalgia and tradition of keeping the current MSG and working with it, but I also understand what a new arena would do for the city and what the moynihan station could be, a modern day attempt to make up for the destruction of the original penn station.
you see alot of this back and forth going on with nyc real estate, and coney island is in the middle of it right now as well. there wasn’t supposed to be a coney this summer, but there is.

It actually says something about the rigatoni, and chicken marinara making the Italians excessively irritable in the bowel area!
LOL!

that was a layup. i took a chance with that last one so i cant say the response was entirely unexpected.
yo i’m staring to hope we do go for a euro in spite of some of the anti-euro sentiment amongst the new york knicks fan base.
if a player can play, he can play, doesn’t matter if he is from antartica or mars.
if gallinari sucks, it is not because he is from europe.
if anthony randolph is a real baller, he could have been born and raised in sicily, it would not have mattered in the slightest bit.
that’s just the way i see it. and the fact that foreign competition is holding its own against team usa since 2002 only further supports my point of view.

OK,KnicksD,
I was speaking of yearly salary, but you are right in terms of the total contract.
If Redd has something left he could help,or play both Redd and Crawford together, there’s a thought.

DLT Knicks, right on. Right now it looks like everyone has us taking the Tayshaun Princesque Anthony Randolph from LSU. Long wingspan, defensive minded. Based on the the preliminaries, I can’t complain should we get him.
interesting that Anthony Randolph is a lefty. So is Lee, so is ZBo.
I still think that we should draft Love just so the headlines will read “LoveLee!” (from another blog, I forget which)
just bloggin’

I’m definitely aight with two hard working hustling caucasian brothers on the Knicks. I read in a forum that one of the coaches who is coming on board is one of the best shooting coaches in the game.
I wonder if it’s true?
If so I wonder if he can work some magic on our boys Balkman, Lee, Jefferies?
If so then that would help boost those kids contributions to the team, and in the event it’s needed it would increase these kids trade values.
I don’t know about you KnicksD but if some of our young boys end up getting traded I hope they go to good teams. Guys like Balkman, Nate, Lee have been terribly misused during the Isiah regime. Bad coaching makes for bad development. You have to whish these kids well and a better future. I certainly do.
