Four number ones made it. Incredible! The only team I’ve had a good look at is Memphis, so I’m no authority on this, but I’ll go with Memphis over UCLA and Kansas over North Carolina (simply because I don’t want to hear Kenny Smith talkin’ smack on Inside the NBA for the next two months), with Memphis taking the cake. Don’t quote me on it, I mostly just watch Knicks games.

Lives,
When you have family memebers telling you how insulting some of these remarks published on this site have gotten lately, you start to question the inherent value of some of the more unnecessary comments that have been typed and published on this blog in recent memory. I’ve simply chosen to live without these few worthless comments.
I consider it long overdue and inevitable progress that the former faction of this blog has got their stuff together to create their own blog. Back in October, I encouraged all those concerned to each get a blog, so that we can all read and comment on each other. I recall that you were an integral part of the movement here at the time, so you must have read it at the time.
The booted few seem to feel I owe them something (why, because of comment #’s?), or worse yet, that I’m somehow writing to represent their own personal views. Although you may not agree, over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that some of them are indeed racists, and yet some of them were just Isiah loyalists that will never see any faults in the man no matter what disasters went down during his 4 years running all things basketball at Madison Square Garden.
As far as I can tell, Isiah clearly deserved to be stripped of all his power this week. I don’t care enough to psychoanalyze their reasons, I just know that fundamentally, these people do not agree. They will never agree. They needed their own blog for that very reason.
The top right corner of this blog contains a microcosm of some of the vast numbers of knicks blogs in the blogosphere. There will always be a difference in opinion, be it on this blog, the previous blog during Alan Hahn’s Knicks Fix, or the one that started it all back in the Knicks Knation days.
Bottom line is, they now have their blog to run as they see fit, and I still have this one, so there is no great injustice here. Just more options in terms of what you chose to read and contribute towards going forward.
Lives,
we can’t skip past your posts man, they’re too heavy to ever take lightly.
Lives
Excellent posting today. Hit every topic with hutzpah.
Your cloak will most certainly be missed on the blogosphere.
@DEFENDERS
Posts number 48 & 49 are surreal, yet extremely instructive. I know I have been a broken record about this, but when your investment of time, imparticular, on a Fanship Blog (instant commonality)or anything for that matter, and it has not been transformative in some way, then you must take pause, and reassess and reevaluate the usage of your time and energy…
What most of you have failed to understand in your effort to win the debate and puff out your chest, or who can out fan the flame of division, or just simply display your fanship the best way you know how, some were seeking to find greater connectivity. So many of the folks that have been exiled, and a strand of US that continue to frequent this THREAD communicate daily, spend quality time with one another off line, face to face, engaging in more than just discussions about basketball.
This didn’t transpire because we were lonely, or deemed social misfits, or were lacking or missing anything, but where there was a Breath of commonality, some of US reached for the Width of true FELLOWSHIP. OUR brothers from NYC illustrated that it was possible to build the BRIDGE that allowed safe passage to the next level. The Force MD’S/DC’S took that manuscript and ran with it, and found that more investment was warranted and actually beneficial. Despite our differences, despite our divergent methodologies of communicating, and despite our varied backgrounds, WE”VE COME TO LEARN THAT WE HAVE SO MUCH MORE IN COMMON THAN JUST THE NEW YORK KNICKS AND WE GENUINELY CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER AND OUR RESPECTIVE LIVES…No Pun Intended…A COLLECTIVE RESPECT AND CONNECTION HAS DEVELOPED
I’ll repeat this phrase for the umpteen time. “THIS IS A MOVEMENT, NOT A MONUMENT.” If you really understood what that means, it should have been very clear that some of US understood we could do so much more, than discuss basketball…Small Minds lead to Small Visions…ANd you know what they say, “People without a VISION will perish.”
TMAN, I invite you to reach out and touch me on the otherside of this THANG if your spirit moves you to do so at gacii@comcast.net. If any other Defender chooses to do so, you are also welcome too…WHY? BECAUSE THIS IS TRULY THE SEASON FOR CHANGE…Built on the premise that EACH ONE TEACH ONE, EACH ONE LIFT ONE ANOTHER….For those who are interested, read that prayer again…SPEAK TRUTH TO WISDOM!
Keep it POPPIN!
Wow! I’ve been a bit out of the loop, but not anymore.
– First and foremost, Lives multi-part post was nothing short of extraordinary on so many levels whatever one thinks of his final conclusion. I deeply appreciated the time and care taken; his level of discernment; eloquence; spirit; balance, fairness, and even-handedness; quest for truth and root of the issues; longing to communicate; and ultimate faith in his listeners.
– I just haven’t been around enough lately to comment intelligently on the specifics, but am comfortable with blindly letting Lives posts stand as the statement of record (with whatever natural amount of flaws that would accompany any account of that length). My head has been wrapped in politics these days which has been the main reason for my KD vacation.
– My take on blog hosting: Similar to what Lives stated, I believe in a separate standard as a host and as a commenter. On other blogs, including this one, I will be more apt to let my hair down some more. It is the luxury of being a commenter… or “just bloggin’” as they say. As a host at COSELLOUT I hold myself to a more measured standard despite the fact that I am sure that I have violated that standard at many occasions. And while I often write about volatile topics (i.e. race) I have never had to ban a commenter although I came very close after a couple of warnings. So ultimately, Lives stance makes sense that there is mutual culpability going on here between host and commenters on some different levels that have perpetuated themselves to this conclusion.
– About Starburyfan: as a fellow hoster i have a deep respect for the work that goes into maintaining a blog. The grind of 82 games can be exhausting. Others will soon find out that blog maintenance = life negligence. If you recall, I had first posted here shortly before there was any migration from Knix Fix, and will continue to support KD, the new blogs, and other blogs time-permitting.
– Having stated that something special here has been lost by this split. Everyone comes here for different reasons. My reason was to engage in an alternate dialogue than I can find on the simplicity of MSM blogs. I have also made many friends which has been a wonderful fringe benefit. Last week Cooley and I hung out, and today Steady and I were bullshitting over lunch about Knicks, politics, 40 years since MLK, and life in general. These wonderful outgrowths of KD speak for themselves, but let me “amen” everything in cooley’s last post…. Even still, I saw KD as something more than just therapeutic, personal, engaging, fun, fellowship, and “a place where everybody knows your name”. I also saw it as “political”. Since its deliberate migration(leaving Knix Fix over “wacky”) KD represent a SOCIAL STATEMENT AGAINST THE EXCESSES AGAINST MAINSTREAM MEDIA. Perhaps this was a complete misread on my part or perhaps, lost in petty squabbles we all lost sight of keeping our “eyes on the prize”. Yes, KD is a Knicks site, yes, KD is a place to enhance fellowship, but whatever happened to the stance for responsible media? The greatest strength of KD was its strength in numbers: A unified force that could had the potential to grow into a strong alternative voice against the Knicks tabloids — maybe even one day INFLUENCE IT! If someone says that I’m talking “pie in the sky”, then I’ll absorb that hit. It wouldn’t be the first time that i heard that criticism. This is bigger than Zach vs. Eddy, Isiah vs. Walsh, and Marbury vs. Crawford? …at least it was/is for me… anyone else?
– About Lives funeral: This was the only part of the post that I reject! Fuck that shit. Take a break, take a vacation, watch the Knicks get Derrick Rose and come back SOMEWHERE in October. I suspect that Lives is retired like MJ, Favre, and Sugar Ray Leonard rolled up into one. That is all that i’m gonna say about that bullshit. And if that statement is demeaning about a well-thought-out painstaking decision, well, come out of retirement to tell my ass off!
Knicks are off to a bad start….we’re winning!!
This isn’t the way it’s supposed to be going.
Lives better chill with all that retirement talk.
Who am I going to have to debate with in the summer?
Lives…get your ass in line soldier. I shouldn’t have
to tell you that because usually you are the General.
How is the General going to retire? Especially when we
are at the lowest point in our franchises history?
Say it ain’t so brother!!!!
Willis and Clyde are really doing it for me…..no homo.
I’m sorry I meant Clyde and Earl.
Nice shot Mo Evans!!!
Magic within 7!!!
Looks like the Knicks have a little pep in they step tonight…like somebody is watching.
I wonder why!!!
Knicks off to good start…don’t look for it to continue.
We’ll be down or close to being down by halftime.
These fast starts always look good till the 2nd or 3rd quarter.
Come on Magic….
Howard got hit with a tech so he won’t be back till mid to late 2nd quarter.
Told ya so!!!!
Curry can’t hold Howards dick with both hands…no homo.
“We Got This” or should I say, “Oops upside your head”!!!! A beatdown at The Mecca tonight by our heroes. Go figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got this.
Knicks Fan (& Lover) for Life
I guess we wuz vibing as usual VicBit.
Modi,
Thanks so very much for a wonderful experience today and your usual inspiring insight. That discussion on race, rebellions becoming riotous in the inner cities, and gentrification of urban America was just an added bonus to what I have come to appreciate in our friendship born out of fanship. After watching tonight’s game, I will double down on my Lil’ General (5 star) theory. Zeke can coach and this team could have gone to the playoffs but for the called tank revealed in Phoenix as written by the scriptologists. And yes Lives, I did see that expression of capacity by Zeke for the first 3 Qtrs against NOH. I was thinking similarly when I saw the mastery displayed by Zeke–shortening the rotation and mixing strengths on the floor. And when I look at the line score and the play by Chill Will tonight, I have good reasons to remain steadfast and Steady as IT goes. As Cooleyhigh would say, there’s prima facia evidence right there that we don’t need the services of Mr. Beasley. Still, Qui sera, sera.

In response to the LAPs above, Steady hereby submits the following Limerick or Haiku–ya’ll know what’s good.
An Ode to Lives

Knicks Fan & Lover for Life (KFLL)
What’s up Steady,
The pleasure was all mine. Although you are a wise man and I enjoy picking your brain, I’m not ready to cosign the “tanking theory” even if I completely agree that the season was ruined by “the flawed lineup theory”. But it would sure have been nice to see someone like Q getting DNPs after the 5th game of the season….
I missed the game tonight… Latest thoughts on Chandler…
