Since many of us are watching the tournament, a new post for it. Good luck to all those who are betting on their brackets. My guess is if Davidson wins it all, some people are going to get pretty rich…

it’s gonna be NC and UCLA in the finals, with NC winning a thriller.
Where are the Deeeee-fenders tonite?
I’m here dlt, knicks are getting beat as usual.
Watching the Davidson/Wisconsin game. That kid Curry is the sho-nuff truth! He is mos def Dell’s baby boy.
These Knicks are gonna go out fighting and scratching!
I’m glad their not laying down for the elimination game! Go Knicks!
Thomas has that “GRIN” back….like he knows the script …and he’s
still has the keys! Maybe Dross should invite Thomas to his Hampton Mansion this summer
and discuss the Art of coaching together????
This kid Curry is the best scoring guard I’ve seen in the college ranks in some time. He’s not just a shooter, though he does that well, he scores in a variety of ways. He’s also deceptively strong…he can take the hit and score with ease.
He’s scoring basically at will against arguably one of the best defensive guards in the nation, Flowers.
I hope he stays another year so the Knicks get a shot at this kid. We definitely have other issues to address, but if we can obtain a pass-first pg to compliment this kid, we’ll have something very special.
It offical…it’s over guys!
The only thing I can say is thanks for all the support from the
” Band of Brother” ….looking back at the old post prior to the start of this season,
man it hurts how it turned out! ….So here’s MY FAVORITE GROUP…. a little truth to their words!
A season lost amongst High hopes…Check it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc4XaGvI7J8
Defenders keep your heads to the sky….these Knicks will make up for all
this heartace next year! BE DEVOTED..STAY FAITHFUL …through Devotion all good things happen! Check it:

I found a rare clip of ed drossman ( stage name ed Holman) sending ABS a love song before the trial
this year! Nice vocals Dross, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWcs6zCMpao&feature=related
Mathematically eliminated. We officially don’t got this.
jay bee, better times are coming, homie.
Derrick Rose in the answer to our problems.
Get Isiah out of here and bring in a new coach
so this kid can be all he can be. He is easily the
best PG coming out the draft in a decade or more.
A Rose In The Garden!!!!
Obama,
DRose is NOT the answer to ALL the teams problems.
Yes, Isiah needs to go,but remember…….
ECurry still can’t rebound, block shots or play defense….
Zach still has not found a shot he didn’t like………
Jamal is still out of control……………
Balkman can’t make free throws………………
Morris…………………………….
Collins needs to go………………
JJefferies only played ONE good game this year(last night)…….
No one has found Q’s game yet……………………….
Steph,MRose & JJames are STILL on team…………….
UNC looks pretty tough, but I’m rooting for Louisville in this one just because of Pitino’s knicks roots. i was also a fan of kentucky ball back when they had mashburn and pelphry and the rest.
fantastic block–that’s something the knicks could use more of…
Keep the Faith NYK.
Here was once maybe a top 10 talent in the NBA that couldn’t be reached
by anyone and even though he’s only 37 years old, it’s sad to see such a waste of talent
gone bad! http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2008-03-29-rider-arrest_N.htm?csp=34
Sounds like Artest’s agent hyperbole is to up the $$$$$$ before he walks from the Kings!
http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/822295.html
Rose should be our first priority. We need to lose
every game left….and I do mean
EVERY GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is mainly to African, states and peace:
“ECurry still can’t rebound, block shots or play defense”…. Didn’t Thomas trade for him?
“Zach still has not found a shot he didn’t like”……… Didn’t Thomas trade for him?
“Jamal is still out of control”……………Didn’t Thomas trade for him?
“Balkman can’t make free throws”………………Didn’t Thomas draft him and then put him on the end of the bench for most of the season?
“Morris…………………………….”Didn’t Thomas draft him and then put him on the end of the bench for most of the season?
“Collins needs to go”………………Didn’t Thomas draft him and then put him on the end of the bench for most of the season?
“JJefferies only played ONE good game this year(last night)”…….Didn’t Thomas sign him and over play him even though he hasn’t produced?
“No one has found Q’s game yet”………………………. Didn’t Thomas trade Kurt Thomas for him?
“Steph,MRose & JJames are STILL on team”……………. Didn’t Thomas bring them here?
I know it’s all Layden’s or Larry Brown’s fault even though Thomas brought all those players here and sets the line up, gameplay and makes substitutions.

I didn’t make that above post.
ed,
Don’t worry about it, it’s most likely “Rockstar ” the fag!
His father shot a Blank!
Man, Memphis is too big and strong for Texas! Memphis will be in the finals and
No-BaH-deees gonna beat them!
It’s funny I heard Thomas talk about Jared and it was like Jared’s having a great season. Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t Jared and Q had terrible seasons? Why are Q and Jared starting when they’ve not performed?
Hasn’t Thomas this year had as many different line ups as Brown. Richardson is done.
We are tanking now and I agree because we are out of the playoffs!
Maybe Fredrick Weiss should make a cameo??
LETS GO KNICKS, TANK LIKE HELL!
knicks are down by four.
Crawford has 33 at the end of the third.
the way he is shooting it in the second half, he may get to 50.
but is winning the game only an afterthought now for the knicks?
are the knicks playing only to pad their season stats?
Wait a minute, peace, we’ve been tanking all season. We’ve only won 20 games. I know you love Thomas but come on 20 wins isn’t a lot. We have 10 games left. We might not even win 25 games.
Taking a break from the Knicks, I find it funny how Lawrence Frank rarely gets trashed with the New York media. Jason Kidd, demanded that Byron Scott be fired after Scott took the Nets to the finals twice. Then Jason Kidd had his hand picked coach Lawrence Frank get the job. Then Kidd being the asshole that he is demanded the Nets trade him. If I were the Nets Gm, I would be completely angry with Kidd. The Nets did everything Kidd wanted them to do. And now Byron Scott’s new team is in first place in the competitive Western Conference. Maybe Kidd will shut his mouth next time. And Kidd’s new team Dallas might not even make the playoffs.
davidson is putting up a hell of a fight against kansas.
curry is a great college player.
d. rose would look good in orange and blue.
Good point about Kidd Dross. What a dick. Byron Scott is proving himself to be a pretty consistent coach. He just needs that shiny stuff that earns the respect of all.
Kidd will never win a title and I’m glad. And I don’t think the Nets should be too angry–he did get them to the Finals twice, and this season Jersey was able to turn an old PG (and they were going nowhere in the postseason, even at their best) into a young shotblocker and an up-and-coming point. Maybe his being a selfish baby this season was the best thing he could’ve done for them: he forced Thorn’s hand.
As for Frank…I think he deserves one more chance. Now that the old cancer is gone, and Frank may have a reasonably young and complete team next year, he should get one more shot to make a solid playoff team out of them. This will be his first season out of the playoffs, if the Nets do miss them.
Though you’re both right on–Byron Scott is one hell of a coach. I remember a remark he made when the Nets played Boston in the Eastern Championships, and the Kidd “wife beater” chants were at their worst, and Scott was seen as a reminder of Riley’s Lakers: Byron said gametime coaching starts before the game, it comes simply from the coach’s presence. I watched him soaking in the abuse in the Garden and thinking, This guy’s pretty damn coldblooded. I don’t know if he can coach, but he can sure set a calm tone for his team.
Turns out he can kind of coach, too. The Hornets are a very fun team to watch…Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler could do some very great things together. Talk about a foundation…the best young point, and one of the best young centers in the game.
warriors’ local newspaper with some unflattering words on Isiah Thomas’ job performance in New York.
Totally unnecessary from another writer enjoying taking shots with nothing new information to add. It’s not working, but no one can admit that each transaction by GM I. Thomas did not show value. He did not throw away talent like Larry Bird or Chris Wallace.
Who is this guy and what has he done to deserve taking a shot from across the country. Punk move.
Good call Ol’ Soul. That’s what happens when you’re in the Mecca, everyone prays/plays in your direction.
I saw that comment above about Curry being a good college guard. Interesting. Question is: Why Davidson? How could that kid slip by Coach K, UNC, the Aggies at A&T, Wake Forest? What gives?
KF_L
I recall a few months ago when the knicks played in philly, the crowd was chanting “fire Isiah” towards the end of the fourth quarter. why should they care? i don’t know.
steady, i have no idea why he slipped past coach K, UNC and the rest of the big recruiters, especially considering who this guy’s father is, a legendary NBA shooter named Dell. they only need about .05 seconds on the clock to get their shot off, and like Gus Johnson will tell you, chances are it is going to be “pure.”
but realgm is reporting that curry is going to stay another year. good for him.
@41,…….
Because there are transported NY’ers everywhere. And like elephants, we NEVER forget we are NY’ers. NYK in 2009 !
Unless a team wins the lottery, there is little chance for a team to become a champion. Let’s face it: you have to get lucky in the NBA. The last GM to score a coup that brought a championship was Jerry West with the Kobe trade. (that has to be one of the great trades of all time.) However, West could not win in Memphis.
Hopefully Stern puts a magnet in our lottery balls. He’s a Knick fan! Let’s go Stern!
Not sure about that #44 being factual Ol’ Soul. I would put a JB on that one. Look at Seattle and Portland. It is a tragedy how these guys always end up in the lottery and continually field a less than competitive squad. Now, one can see the light out of the Portland tunnel with Old Man Oden recuperating from surgery. Not sure the same can be said about Seattle following this MegaMillion campaign. Coming out of G’town, I could have sworn Jeff Green was “da trooth” and that he and Durant were going to be unstoppable. They need bigs in Seattle–maybe they can lighten our load. Not sure our JJeff had any NBA game left in him hangin’ a Dubba-Dubba against ATL. That’s the kid we expected coming out of training camp from that “working man’s beard” (profiled by Lives) and all that Hoops hype on the blogosphere. In all, we wuz robbed Defenders–Bamboozled, Hoodwinked, led astray, our fanaticism ran amok this season. Dig deep, we are NY, NY–so big bad and beautiful it had to be named TWICE. We’ll be back. D L T, we can now discuss Other Players since my steadiness did not bear fruits this season. Peaceman, what’s good with the King of Queensbridge?

Retract. Detroit made some great moves to get their championship. They do have high draft picks, but by trade.
even the great joe dumars has had subpar draft picks he became president of basketball ops in 2000 (except Tayshaun)
2007 NBA 1 15 15 Rodney Stuckey Eastern Washington University
2007 NBA 1 27 27 Arron Afflalo University of California, Los Angeles
2007 NBA 2 27 57 Sammy Mejia DePaul University
2006 NBA 2 30 60 Will Blalock Iowa State University
2005 NBA 1 26 26 Jason Maxiell University of Cincinnati
2005 NBA 2 26 56 Amir Johnson
2005 NBA 2 30 60 Alex Acker Pepperdine University
2004 NBA 2 25 54 Rickey Paulding University of Missouri
2003 NBA 1 2 2 Darko Milicic
2003 NBA 1 25 25 Carlos Delfino
2003 NBA 2 29 58 Andreas Gliniadakis
2002 NBA 1 23 23 Tayshaun Prince University of Kentucky
2001 NBA 1 9 9 Rodney White University of North Carolina at Charlotte
2001 NBA 2 9 37 Mehmet Okur
2000 NBA 1 14 14 Mateen Cleaves Michigan State University
Dumars has made up for mediocre picks with great trades.
The great Colangelo has not won anything yet in Toronto or Phoenix. Media hype.
Maybe IT needs 1 more year as GM.

Therein lies the great Monty fiasco in 2008. What we fans will never know is WHY Monty, WHY? Stand tall Ol’ Soul because there will be those who come on to dross the blog on this opinion. JimmyD is the owner and it’s his money so let him do what he damn pleases.

“I recall a few months ago when the knicks played in philly, the crowd was chanting “fire Isiah” towards the end of the fourth quarter. why should they care? i don’t know.”
The entire NBA hates Thomas, that’s why. The see him as a joke. They see it as a joke that we still have him here. If the Knicks don’t want to be considered a joke they need to start winning and as long as the Knicks have Thomas, they won’t win.
Look at Tom Coughlin with the Giants. He was thought of as a joke by most NFL players, including many of his own. Well the Giants won the Super Bowl, now he’s not seen as a joke neither are the Giants anymore. When you start winning less people think you’re a joke.
Is it possible guys, that Isiah Thomas decided to tank to pickup the prodigy from chi-town D. Rose? Maybe. The kid would look great in orange and blue, no doubt. But if so, when were they playing for real, and when was it all a farce to knicks fans everywhere?
Because we didn’t have those win streaks this season (max of only 3 this season), and that’s why it is very hard for me to support what is going on currently with the squad, because there were some great games last season, and even the crappy LB-led teams gave us reasons to cheer during the month of January.
to be 100% honest with you, whatever it takes for the team to be competitive again, to be good again, that is what I support. This year the team has neither competed nor could by any stretch of the imagination considered to be an improvement over what we’ve been seeing over the past few seasons. Therefore, it looks like regression to me. Hence, the recent bitching and moaning. I still bleed orange and blue, and I cosign on whatever it is going to take to get this team back into the playoffs where it rightfully belongs.
New York is long overdue.
