  2. More poor prognosticating by the MSM. New York Tabloids had Walsh staying put. Let’s see who takes credit for
bringing him to Gotham? What a joke these monkeys with laptops are!!!!!!!

By Vic Corbit on Mar 24, 2008

  3. I second that emotion Vic Corbit.

I’ve been really swamped recently and certainly missed the comraderie of the defender familia.

Those ballers in this joint stacking coins from your tourney prognistications…

    Cheers.

Is there any reason to watch the remaining 13 or so games of this miserable Knicks season?

Here’s to a better season next year and the years that follow!

By Orange and Blue on Mar 24, 2008

  4. I’d rather have Ernie Grunfeld here.

By edward drossman on Mar 24, 2008

  5. Defenders,
Let’s not rush to judgement. Just be mindful that the MSM may not have the
transformative judgement that this franchise requires. If the owner does not have it,
would we agree that the Lil’ General 5-star (Stern) has it? What about the Lone Rogue
Ref? The ABS fiasco enabled him and Donaghy to stay well below the radar. And now
you’ve got the pot calling the kettle black.
JD has said it himself–there will be no JVG redux: “He Quit”. There will be no HOF
ABS coach redux: “He was fired”. Sterns does not own the franchise and will not be
given a pass to run in “his” flunkies who did not make it elsewhere. Ask Stu because
that’s what the League Office is for–hire folks who could not make it in NY, NY.
    Just bloggin’. ;-)
My happy buck says the driver in the MSG has a King Spades (LBJ) or an Ace of Spades in his
(Mamba) in his vest pocket. The franchise deserves as much. While you’re at it, put
H2O and D L T in the intern/mentor program. Their wives can work with the City
    Dancers.

  6. Deeeeeeeee-fenders,

What did Walsh do in Indy?
    He traded away,Artest,S.Jackson,A.Harrington(twice).
    Does he know talent?
    The Pacers stink too!!
Change may not always be for the better……but someone else needs a turn.

    @Vic Corbit,

Hitting the nail on the head that’s what you did.
They(MSM) all want to be the first to know nothing.Great comment!

    @Steady,

You will continue to be my mentor.Write on,Brother, write on.

Oh,and the wife may end up bitch-slapping EC if she were that close.:-)

  8. Artest will be coming home this summer …Walsh will not make past Hoboken!
    The Pacers suck!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  9. I’ll tell you what! I’ll watch the game tonight…Zach is playing and the Knicks
won’t be tanking tonight for a change…the last thing they want to do is help the Nets!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  10. @Peaceman

Loved the songs on the last post……

“don’t you stop it, don’t you stop, stop the music”.

Also, let’s hope Walsh is not holding that Detroit #$@!*($&@^rock’em sock’em against RonRon.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  11. Forget Walsh…bring us Jerry West!!

At least give us a GM that has won some Chips!!!

    Change in 08!!!!!!!!

By DaVonn Obama Jefferson on Mar 24, 2008

  12. Obama,

That would may more cents!!A PROVEN GM!

I’m guessing West won’t come East for the Knicks.

He’ from West Va.,not the Bronx like Walsh.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  13. How old is Donnie Walsh?…He looks about a 100yrs on that press conference..I agree with DLT, what has Walsh done lately?.

By Top Shotta on Mar 24, 2008

  14. I prefer Jerry West Myself.

By Top Shotta on Mar 24, 2008

  15. That’s another point @ Top Shotta

How long will he be around? He’s 66.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  18. We always have the tendency in NY to want to bring a marquee name aboard to right our ship and it doesn’t get us anywhere. West and Walsh are past their primes. Guys always make their bones in other places and use that shine to get big $$ from NY teams hoping for that star power (Larry Brown, Glen Sather). We overpay for past success. Let’s be original for a change and get a younger executive and coach here to take us to the next level like Dumars or Bryan Colangelo(I’d take him in a second!!).

By Marzak. on Mar 24, 2008

  19. Here’s some news from the top! Like it hate it or whatever!!!!! Zeke is going no place! He may have a co-VP to help
while he Coaches,,,but according to the “INSIDER” ABS winning did nothing but cement ZEKE another year because DOLAN agrees
ZEKE was distracted from day one! AS a matter of FACT ZEKE has an Appointment with the INSIDER in OCTOBER along with the Rest of the
team ….Appointments were just made 3 Days ago!!!!! SUCK ON THAT!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  20. @Peaceman

    What???????????????????

Hate it or love it, the underdog is a gonna.

New VP and new coach……..willing to bet “one UTube song”.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  26. refs stankin out the joint in general….tanking like the Nets & Knicks! It really IS contagious!!!

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  27. Peaceman, your INSIDER info plays into what i mentioned in the last thread…..the worst-case scenario where we have a new “advisor” or front office guy above Isiah, while Zeke continues as the so-called “coach” of the team. This must be avoided at all costs.

Isiah may deserve to head up one of the front offices in the NBA (debatable!), but you can’t tell me there aren’t 30 better candidates to head up the NY Knicks as Head Coach than Isiah Lord Thomas! As a coach, he .

Wait wait wait…..so is this a bet, DLT & Peace?

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  28. DLT here’s a song about this Knicks season! Check it:

What will I do with Peaceman’s lungs?………..throw in a Knicks City Dancer and we are on.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  30. D L T my dear protege–I love and would not mislead you if allowed. On this account, I tend to side with Peaceman for he knows what’s good. Accept the Monty.

Definsider comes through again and this time to calm the nerves of the faithful.

Love IT or hate IT but IT is what IT is.

Now D L T, if you insist on IT, Peaceman got his lungs on IT, you got one UTube song on IT, I think I may want some of that action. :-)

    Steady as the NYK goes.

    KFL–ya’ll know what’s good.

By Steady on Mar 24, 2008

  31. On another note ,there’s a strong possibility that Jason Kidd’s Mavs might not make the playoffs with Dirk out indefinetly…You know Rod Thorn and company will be somewhere cracking up if his Nets make it, while Kidd is at home watching, especially after the way he sulked his way into being traded.

By Top Shotta on Mar 24, 2008

I had that on wax and lost it…great album.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  33. PaulNoize, name these 30 people and the Championships they own! Yeah right! I thought so!
This guy has no reason to lie! The same old shit names being rehashed here makes the average Hoop Joe HURL!
Maybe they would replace Frank in NJ or Riley in Miami…… but if he’s correct …MONTY HAS A TRUMP CARD,
Right next to the get out of jail free card and pass go and collect $200.00 dollars!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  37. @Steady & Peaceman

If “Monty” walks out on the garden floor for the 08-09 season there will be a riot.

You have to agree with that!

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  38. You want me to name thirty champions i think are better suited to coach the Knicks in 2008-09 than Isiah Thomas, Peaceman? There’s a lot more candidates out there than just the same ‘ol tired names from 1997, ya know. Some guys who never got a chance but should have, like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for one.

Mind you, if it IS Walsh coming in, then the question of whether Isiah stays or goes was made before that handshake got shook. If could be that Jimmy D doubles down on his contract extension for Isiah by bringing in a greybeard with media gravitas (Walsh) to help “manage” next year’s marketing campaign - and also get Isiah’s back no matter what. That’d sure be stupid….or genius, if it works (LOL).

Knicks down 82-58 in the third. =(

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  39. Speaking of next year…..

Collins and Morris are the young pups that need to GO!

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  40. DLT….
It depends on who walks out on the floor with MONTY!
If it’s the same Mo Mo’S your right… but the feeling is
those who walk with Zeke will be the SAVIORS…starting with ARTEST!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  41. Crawful 6-19 tonight so far. =(

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  42. do you think the Knicks would trade their top pick for Artest, Peaceman? Is that the secret plan, plus maybe a plum MLE signing with a young hopper shotblocker?

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  43. CRAWFORD … Mr 4TH quarter! Take the Cuffs off let shoot like a M60!
We have ZERO to lose! All downtown!!!!!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  44. no Randolph Morris yet tonight, DLT. i also think he is only barely on the fringe of the new-school 15-man rosters of today’s NBA…..i’d like to see a marginally better big candidate in his slot on the bench next season, frankly. Perhaps a reality show - Who’s The Next Jackie Butler? =)

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  45. Jamal can rise up and bomb, no doubt!

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  46. Paulnoize,
Artest will walk in our camp for ZERO! Maybe Rose at best!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  47. Balkman a couple of nice, physical fouls to deny dunks or layups tonight. Not dirty or gratuitous…..just clean, old-school, contested with your whole body type rim denials.

i wish there had been more of that out of our three spot this year….might’ve helped give our squad some identity. Oh well. Probably wasn’t a bad idea to stick with Q. Loyalty begats loyalty and all that. i guess. =(

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  48. Peaceman,

Monty will need to walk out with MORE THAN Artest, maybe minus Curry,Steph,JJames and some others.

Add a first round D.Rose and some more……..and he won’t get bamboozelled, hookwinked, ran amuck.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  49. Peace - do you seriously think Mr. Artest will sign a 5-year mid-level deal here? Won’t he have a problem with being underpaid, especially after years of bitching how underpaid he is?

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  50. CRAWFORD

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  51. RJ abusing The Rook. “Can’t get a stop.” - Clyde

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  52. DLT.
How about Bynum, Odem, Artest, Stephen Curry or Eric Maynor or OJ Mayo ????

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  53. Clyde says Crawford’s “patch” is just superstitious at this point. He didn’t specifically call him a ‘fraidy cat, but i can read between the lines.

He also evinced surprise when Isiah got real upset in the first half with the refs, noting how rare it was for Isiah to be so animated…and honestly, there wasn’t much of a foul there on Jeffries’ drive to the rim. Weird play that Zeke chose to make a big deal of. Why should his referee protests be any less bizarre than the rest of the Knicks’ season?

If i were Dolan, i would order the entire front office staff to dress in full “Spanish Inquisition” costume on “Exit Interview” day, just to see who gets shook. Eddy might peek in the lobby and forego his final check, LOL.

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  54. OR…..How about ARTEST, Stephen Jackson, Bynum, and Dwayne Wade??????

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  55. Continued…Riley is in COMPLETE rebuild mode…he’ll take Curry and a #1 knick pick
for Wade! While LA wil give us Bynum for Marbury!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  56. @Peaceman,

The only problem with getting those players is……….some team will have to take ours.

    Who???????????????????????What team????????????????????????

What team wants Curry?Zach?Q?JJames,JJefferies…..maybe Steph’s contract.

    By D L T Knicks on Mar 24, 2008

  57. Peaceman blowing out all his smooth Saturday night pillow talk here on the Monday night hardleg Defenders! Peace you preach a smooth game dude, from your lips to God’s ears!

Chandler a three in garbage time. 102-87 now. Mardy called for palming, LOL. Maybe we should have kept Jordan?

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  58. Paulnoize,

  59. seventh straight home loss tonight. worst home losing streak since 1963. Woot!

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  60. KOBE will take Marbury in place of Kidd, Riley never saw a big he couldn’t motivate,
Stephen Jackson is the ? If GSW don’t do well in the playoffs …shit happens!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  61. If we were tanking….it sure looked legit!

By Peaceman on Mar 24, 2008

  62. i agree Peace….i think stranger things have happened. Yes, i am sure he makes extra money in endorsements. Yes, sadly, he needs access to SLOAN. And yes, i DO BELIEVE that he has the heart of a little kid in him who wants to COME HOME AND WIN!

But that’s it. So put those three things in a bucket, and how much is it worth? A million? Five? Ten? TWENTY? This is probably gonna be his last eight figure guaranteed contract, so his whole career kind of comes down to this negotiation, from an earnings perspective. If he’s a guy who takes care of his money, lives nice but modest, he probably doesn’t need the extra bank as much as he needs comfort & stability here in NYC. i think it’s a longshot, but i’d love to see him follow his heart, refuse to negotiate any sign & trades, and sign here as a free agent - costing the Knicks NOTHING!

That would go a long way towards solidifying frontcourt roles for next season.

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  63. Knicks got plenty in the tank tonight!

Premium fuel for the tank with this turd of a performance.

Damn this misery better sure as hell yield something goo!

  66. Detroit plays beautiful basketball. Intelligent. It’s nice to watch that style. Just beat a hot Phoenix team.

Our team is so far away from that level of play.

By HarleminMD on Mar 24, 2008

  67. “if we were tanking it sure looked legit”

The knicks have not shown me this season an ability to win basketball games.

The Knicks have not shown me this season an ability to compete in the NBA.

So if they were tanking, they were tanking during training camp when we predicted 47 wins, tanking during preseason when I drove to boston to see them get blown out by 50, and tanking all throughout this season when die hards were having problems sleeping at night because this knicks team has been causing nightmares for its fans.

i bleed orange and blue like most of you.

But i have no loyalty to Isiah Thomas, not now, not ever. After the past four years, are you kidding me?

Isiah Thomas needs to get out of NYC immediately.

I’m sick and tired of this crap. Remove those responsible for the losing and gut the team, spare no one!

If Isiah got to send each and every Layden player to what he thought was siberia (the irony being that a handful of them won titles after distancing themselves from Isiah Lord Thomas) the incumbant defacto leader should have the same freedom to expunge Isiah scrubs from the MSG home team locker room.

Get rid of this arrogant snob Isiah Thomas already, I’m sick of him and his bull. Cousins guised as Knicks fans should start saveisiah.com, because to defend the knicks franchise means to remove this jerk once and for all.

James Dolan is an evil son of a gun to do this to knicks fans. move on now, quit torturing your fan base. Quit being so damn selfish Dolan. There are many knicks fans who are much older than Isiah Lord Thomas, how about helping them see this team win again in this lifetime?

By knicksdefense on Mar 24, 2008

  70. LOL, i hear you KD, i think it’s very possible we see the whole cast back next year….Isiah, Walsh getting his back, Marbury pretending all is well…..Zach & Eddy promising that things will be different this time around. With another rook in tow….maybe a real nice one if we keep up our current mojo. =)

By PaulNoize on Mar 24, 2008

  71. #64: no thank you. the last thing I want to do is see this guy’s face after watching two hours of non-competitive Knicks basketball.

cut the cord. we aren’t moving forward, we’re moving backwards.

By knicksdefense on Mar 24, 2008

  72. @ KnicksD..

I feel your passion and your pain bruh….

I don’t know what Isiah has on Dolan, or what Dolan’s vision is in regards to running this team, but obviously fielding a quality product is not one of them.

I’ve said it since mid-season, when it was evident we were going no where (thanks Peace) fast, this team needed a new voice, a new leader…..that Isiah had to go.

I feel even stronger about that now.

By Bronxboy in Md on Mar 24, 2008

  73. When I read that Isiah talks to Jimmy every day, but Isiah’s own players say that they hear nothing from him (like Eddy did a month or two ago, saying Thomas never spoke to him during practice or otherwise about his play)…it tells me he just might stick around, even though he couldn’t care less about improving the team.

He couldn’t care less, and he doesn’t know how, even if he did. He’s collecting his money, and nothing else matters to him. He knows whatever value his name might once have had is gone, so what else is there? Money.

I think the only way Isiah’s leaving, is if Stern has threatened some serious kind of retribution against the Knicks. Otherwise, Dolan’s dumb enough to keep him.
