Knicks at Sixers

by knicksdefense on February 20, 2008

Check out the picture of Eddy Curry on the Knicks home page and tell me, that was the best they could do? That photo is very harsh.

The five guys that played outstanding team basketball last night: Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, Quentin Richardson (keep it up!), David Lee. that sounds like a starting five in the east to me, but with Eddy Curry reportedly on the market, look for Lee to continue to come off the bench since his production is basically independent of starting or coming off the bench.

Apparently nothing more happened between Nate and Zach after the drink/towel-throwing incident on the bench–winning can have that healing effect on a team.

I think Zach is starting to play better defense. He’s not going to block many shots, but he’s at least staying with his man and sometimes even forcing steals. Now if the knicks could just improve their zone… I won’t say it. There are 29 games left to play, and the Knicks are 16-37. just take it one game at a time.

don’t let anyone erode confidence in your leads, KD. this is just a fan site, you’re not a pro site lookin to snag a pulitzer. the idea and/or sentiment is the thing; there’s never any spelling mistakes — good e-frickin-nuff :)

randolph’s water toss at nate makes youtube.

6 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 6:18 pm

Wow…..
I can’t believe the Spurs are going to get Artest.

Where did they come from?

7 D L T Knicks February 20, 2008 at 6:28 pm

Obama

What’s your source?

Spurs Closing In On Artest?
February 20, 2008 – 4:59 pm
Sacramento Bee –
According to the Sacramento Bee the Spurs are closing in on a deal for Ron Artest.

The Spurs would send the expiring contracts of Francisco Elson and Brent Barry for Artest and possibly include a draft pick.

It is also believed, however, that Denver may be ready to part ways with Linas Kleiza for Artest.

Houston also reportedly had conversations with the Kings about Artest

9 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 6:30 pm

Hey DLT

I checked out the Linkc KnicksD provided regarding the Spurs play to land Artest.

Seems that at this junctute Artest is staying in Sacramento.

10 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 6:32 pm

Parker
Finley
Artest
Duncan
Oberto

Not bad Pop!!!

Manu off the pine!!!

That might be just as good if not better than all the other teams in the West.

Why doesn’t the Spurs GM ever get executive of the year?
I don’t even know who their GM is.
They make ALL the right moves!!!!!

11 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 6:33 pm

Artest had an incredible game last night so that didn’t hurt his chances of being shipped.
He totally shut down Roy last night in Portland and he was unstoppable on the offensive
side of the ball.

Hey KnickD

Nice to see you keep your head above the fray.

In every story where there are two or more sides the truth is muddled somewhere in between.

Yeah… I get a sense that you might mistake some gold ol fashion ribbing amongst bloggers for more than that -e.g., Lives, BARF, Peace. But some people stoke fires more than necessary for what reason I don’t know.

Would I like to have my IP and email posted. Probrably not.

Do I get the vibe that STATESMAN at times takes passive agressive slides at people who disagree? Perhaps!

But this blog is a challenging place to grow as a knicksfan and a basketball fan so I take the good with the bad.

Heck I had one of the Force MDs call me Opie when I was in my Opaque and Bruised phase.

Oh well,… all in good fun, nothing personal.

Keep on keeping on, but always with a good healthy grain of salt.

Lets Go Knicks!

13 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 6:40 pm

Hey I think African has it right after all!

But for different reason.

If Patrick “superhold hair gel dripping like straight out of the 80s” Riley gets some info on trades and prospects from blog sites. Then I suggest lets butter Curry’s up on this site.

From my perspective Curry is the most dominant big man in the game to today.

His sheer mass and girth!

How he powers to the hole of a Dunkin Donught!

How his buttocks lead the league in hard wood burns from having his ass polish the pine!

He can’t be stopped when he gathers momentum on his way to a McDonalds!

He is otherworldy in his ability to stink up a joint!

Curry for President!

14 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 6:41 pm

I think all that is just some family bickering.
You guys will get over it and we’ll be back to posting
together in no time.
Don’t let the Knicks make the playoffs….it’ll be on then!!!!
I see it like this…..
This is Knicksdefense’s blog. He makes the rules….
He told Peaceman to chill out on using a certain word
that offended some people (not me)…the point is this.
Peaceman respected it and we haven’t heard about it since.
Is Statesman entitled to his own opinion? OF COURSE HE IS!!
He has a right to be mad about his IP address being posted…I would be to.
By the way Starbury…why did you post his IP?

We’re all family!!!!
Go outside to fight then come back in for dinner LOL.
That’s what my peeps always said to me and my bro!!!

15 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 6:42 pm

Change in 08!!!!!!!

16 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:00 pm

Almost game time guys.

DVOJ

I’d vote for Obama over Rodman Clinto who looks like a cold hearter corporate butt raider!

17 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:04 pm

Andre Miller is playing solid ball as of late.

Hope the Knicks aint to exhausted to try to get the tail end of the back to back.

But here we go.

SeventySixers 113

Knicks 87

18 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 7:10 pm

I hear ya O&B

Looks like knicksdefense can add Kurt Thomas to that list of
ex Knicks to win a Championship.

Spurs just landed him.

19 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:13 pm

Thomas can provide some intabgibles and interior toughness to the Spurs who’ll need it against a bigger and meaner Western Conference.

20 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 7:16 pm

I would trade Jamals fairy ass in a second!!!!!

21 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:18 pm

Knicks down by 9.

Sixers are playing their game, points on the break of long bounds, and they are hitting the wide open threes the Knicks give up to every opponent.

22 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:19 pm

Curry doesn’t show any energy beyond the initial battle for a loose ball. He just settles and other teams get the bound off of his unmotivated ass.

23 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:22 pm

why’d they only sign mo cheeks to a 1-year extension?

because larry brown is waiting to take his job.

that 1-year is still more then they ever gave the loyal soldier herb williams.

early on, curry is productive early, zach, not so much.

crawford just made a great shot on a great pass by zach.

24 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:24 pm

Q seems to be forcing the threes but its’s not working so far.

Perhaps he is thinking his good shooting will carry over to tonight.

Not the case thus far. Sixers are back up by 9.

25 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 7:27 pm

Green is killing Jamal!!!!!!!

26 PaulNoize February 20, 2008 at 7:27 pm

Reggie Evans TWICE runs the floor off a Lee basket and no one gets back – layup.

Knicks bigs gotta get back on “D”!

27 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:28 pm

Anyone thinking that the 76rs purposely tanked against Minny in order to come out with more gust tonight against a division rival who they might be competing for a playoff spot this season?

28 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:30 pm

mardy didn’t box out.

29 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:31 pm

two straight turnovers.

30 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:31 pm

I’m very dsgusted with the Knicks effor thus far.

They are stinking up the joint tonight!

31 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:31 pm

make that three.

32 Syd February 20, 2008 at 7:31 pm

what with these guys tonight…

33 PaulNoize February 20, 2008 at 7:31 pm

i think maybe Cooleyhigh might’ve been hittin up that jug of “holy water” before his last post in the previous thread, LOL! =)

Damn, Sixers out of the timeout are KILLING the Knicks with ball pressure – 20 fast-break points ALREADY for the 76ers, 33-15 Philly.

34 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:32 pm

four straight turnovers.

35 DaVonn Obama Jefferson February 20, 2008 at 7:32 pm

Can somebody tell me why Collins always seems to get in the game?

36 PaulNoize February 20, 2008 at 7:34 pm

oooh that was EMBARASSING!!!! E-CITY REJECTED BY SAMMY!!!

37 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:35 pm

This might not be the Knicks night.

38 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:35 pm

dalembert knows exactly how to block curry’s shots, i’ve seen that too many times.

some very weird lineup shuffling going on today after the great chemistry yesterday with entirely different people.

39 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:36 pm

Hey I might be on point about the predicted outcome. Lol!

40 Syd February 20, 2008 at 7:36 pm

hehe!

41 PaulNoize February 20, 2008 at 7:37 pm

Man, Dalembert got his hand on top of the basketball on that rolling drive bu Curry and almost pushed ten inches through the floor. He kept pushing down even after Curry landed, and Eddy’s knees kind of buckled. Somebody book Tony Robbins to talk with Eddy this offseason. He needs his confidence shored up.

42 Syd February 20, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Patti …

43 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:39 pm

probably won’t see much curry in the second half.

44 Syd February 20, 2008 at 7:41 pm

Its’ all got the sixers way

45 Syd February 20, 2008 at 7:43 pm

wow….the turnovers

46 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:43 pm

The Sixers are doubling up on the Knicks 50 to 24.

I might be out by halftime.

47 Orange and Blue February 20, 2008 at 7:45 pm

Sixers didn’t have to go into OT.

They rested their players up at the end of their blowout to the Wolves.

It shows.

It really shows tonight.

48 knicksdefense February 20, 2008 at 7:47 pm

finally a lineup that i recognize.

it took this long to get it.

49 PaulNoize February 20, 2008 at 7:47 pm

STATESMAN – backatcha’ bro. At least we’re both Knicks fans, and as such, may provide each other with a moment or two of reading pleasure on one blog or another.

Ugh, we need to stop running plays to get spot-up threes from Fred Jones. The Sixers have a squad of young’ins playing now with greybeard Kevin Ollie, and their activity and length are making the Knicks real passive at both ends of the floor.

Congrats to Mo Cheeks on getting his extension. i can’t say he has done much with his time in Philly, but he looks smooth and unflappable on the sidelines, Iguodala isn’t campaigning against him, and plus he helped that white girl sing the national anthem that time.

Isiah going with the big lineup again. Let’s make them match up with us, i guess.

50 D L T Knicks February 20, 2008 at 7:47 pm

Can’t see the game, what the H’ll is going on????
