Well they finally pulled it off, congrats to the Knicks for breaking their losing streak against the Bucks. I thought for sure once Crawford lost the ball during the isolation play at the top of the key, that the Knicks would give the game away because that has been their M.O. this season. Yet we do well in that building, and it was this time last season that Eddy Curry hit that three point shot at the buzzer to push overtime, Eddy came away with a career high that game of 43 and the knicks got the victory as they did this past Saturday.
With the next game slated for Wednesday night in Boston, the Knicks can rest up for a few days and meditate on how they were able to close out the Bucks on the road Saturday night. The Knicks have let so many games slip between their fingers, if they could figure it out immediately, the playoffs would still be a remote possibility.
I honestly don’t take much pleasure in watching other NBA teams when the Knicks are off. We have NBA league pass in our home, but that is because my brother is an Orlando Magic fan, otherwise, there would be no reason to have it, I only follow the Knicks.
But I have no problem watching NCAA division I basketball, and with the Knicks at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, I am going to try these last few weeks before March Madness to keep track of the up-and-comers with scheduled TV appearances. If trends continue, the Knicks may be in a position to draft one of these young talents.
As of 02-11-08, these are the top five projected lottery picks listed on nbadraft.net. I wouldn’t read too much into projections at this time, but it does give us an outline to lookup some televised games.

Hey O & B..
First off, good to see you went back to your original moniker, bruh….
Actually, I think VG is just what this team needs……he would be more appreciated now than ever.
You know what they say…you don’t miss em’ till they’re gone.
BronxboyinMD
An even better phrase
“Absence makes the heart grow fonder!”
Heck anything is better than this miserable excuse for coaching.
I was thinking if not Van Gumby, why not Bill Lambier (spellcheck).
Heck he was an enforcer typ with the Bad boy Pistons, and he is use to coaching a bunch of girls!
LOL!
Buenas Noches
Van Gundy? Give me a freaken break!
He took over a Knick team that had a defensive culture
after Nellie was shown the door, shortly post Riley!
JVG couldn’t get it done in Houston with 2 super stars
in Tmac and Yao! 1999 Knicks were a 6th seed in a shortened season.
We played .500 ball and made it to the finals!
The last 8 games were ours but we blew them! The coach did not make
unforced turnovers or miss free throws! The tudes here had we won those
games that we found a way to lose would be different! We’d be 25-31
and in 7th seed.
This core has a bright future! Look no further than getting rid
of Curry and Q and maybe Zach and we can play on to better times!
Face the facts that Dolan is going no where and as long as he owns
the Knicks Zeke is going no where, he’s our coach for the next three
years….so get used to it!
@ O&B….
“Heck he was an enforcer typ with the Bad boy Pistons, and he is use to coaching a bunch of girls”..
Noted on all counts. Sounds like he’s the perfect guy for the job….lol
When he was mentioned as a possible candidate some years ago, I actually thought, or was hoping they might give him a shot. I love his intensity and no-bullshit approach.
Again, just what this team needs.
Some Knick related speculation.
Seems like Bytch Lawrence, in addition to dreaming of Frank Asswhola’s load in his mouth, also comes up with unamed sources talking about the Knicks looking to trade both Curry and Randolph.
However a lesser known animal Mike Puma fromt the NY Post has an article which notes that the Knicks and Thomas won’t just make deals for the purposes of making deals.
Whose fantasizing, you tell me.
Some pity time for the quite yet long suffering Malik Rose, as the Bergen Record’s, Steve Adameck, ask Thomas to release teh veteran foward.
Always ready Freddy Jones mulls his eventual loss of playing time upon Nates Robinson’s return from a bruised quad.
The Knicks and Thomas won’t just make deals for the purposes of making deals.
Peace,
I gotta ask man, you said the “core” of this team has a bright future, who do you consider as part of the core ?
JVG wouldn’t survive this squad boys. Could you even imagine what the dark circles under his eyes would look like at this point in the season. Those bags would go to his jaw !

DEE-FENDERS,
Zach is a keeper. He plays hard, rebounds and is not a nice guy. Isiah complains that the Knicks
have too many nice guys (I agree). Isiah’s dilemna is that Nice guys won’t complain, will tolerate B.S., and
are good people to be around off the court. Guys that are not considered nice, won’t kiss azz, will
speak their mind, and can be a pain in the butt. Zach falls into the latter, and the Knicks do not know how to handle this kind of individual. The short answer is to be honest. If Zach is hustling and rebounding, while Curry is
lazy and won’t rebound , then SIT Curry. Unfortunately Isiah sat Zach, as if to say Zach was the problem. A few DEE-FENDERS agreed, overlooking that Curry was not in shape,is not driven, and is OK with getting points and not doing anything else. In other words, Curry is what Chicago thought.
PING
PONG
Peaceman, are you predicting the Knicks will win 25 out of the next 31?
I will play w/ my balls, but your imagination ALLOWS YOU to Fantasize.
It’s all good, because a Fantasy don’t make Babies.
Peace & Blessing
States:
Zach is a keeper alright.
A keeper of the ball that is. The hog that disrupts the flow of the game.
Zach and Craw have destroyed the season.
Zeke knows what’s going on.
When I mentioned it, you guys thought I was crazy.
I’m not the only one.
African’s starting 5…………
Nate, F Jones, Balkman, Lee, and Chunky. We’d get blown out by 40 every night. Where does your scoring come from ? If we could protect a lead JC wouldn’t be desperately heaving shots at the end of every game. You can beat on Jamal and Zach for hogging the ball but who the hell else would you trust to take a high pressure shot ?
Whoa!!
AFRI-CAN,
Zeke & the entire team have killed the season. African, not one Knick has played to expectations.
Curry is the MAJOR REASON for the downfall. Look at 76ERS. Dalembert rebounds, blocks shots, plays D,
and can pass. 76ers w/ less talent have better record than Knicks. Big Man who can do more than score
can influences the outcome of a game. Zeke wants to move Curry, does that mean that he KNOWS what’s
up?
African, did you see where Stan Van Gundy. criticised D. Howard
for focusing on scoring and not Defense & Rebounding in the last few games.
SVG-needs to coach Curry, then he would have greater appreciation for Howard.
It is interesting that last year you were pumpin Crawful, while this year you can see he is a liability.
The analytical EYE must be late.
Afri-can, are you and Rangel continuing to STEPPIN and FETCHIN?
Peace & Blessings
@ States and John Q…
Concur on all counts.

States:
I hate it when folks talk out their ass.
Show me a post where I was “pumpin” Craw.
I’ve always stated that Craw is best suited to come off the bench.
I’ve always atated that Craw has the worst winning percentage in the entire league. How’s that “pumpin” Craw?
Go find that post or stop shooting shit.
Do you have me confused with Anti?
Not one Knick has played to expectations because of the arrival of Zach!
this team had heart last season. So they forgot how to play?
I also blame Zeke for seeing no wrong in Craw.
Craw has the green light on any play, and we all know his shooting prowess or lack of.
Gimme a fucking break. Craw!!!
JohnQ:
You’re such a wise man.
Protecting a lead entails taking good shots at the end of games when you’re up.
It means not taking the first shot available at the begining of the clock.
It means taking high percentage shots.
It means Craw and Zach should be on the bench, because they’re the culprits each and every game.
There’s no combination in the league that takes such ill advised shots.
That’s where the leads are lost.
“Not one Knick has played to expectations because of the arrival of Zach!”
Are we still talking about this?
Af please stop blaming Zach.
I agree with you on Crawford.
However, you say that Zeke see’s what’s going on.
I agree because Curry is on the block also LOL.
You really think Isiah is dumb enough to trade Zach and keep Lazy Eddy?
Think again kid.
You don’t believe me? Have a look for yourself.
Exec: Knicks Trying To Deal Curry, Randolph
February 12, 2008 – 5:33 am
New York Daily News –
Several league executives who have spoken to the Knicks in recent days have confirmed to the New York Daily News that Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph are definitely up for trade.
According to columnist Mitch Lawrence, it is unclear what Isiah Thomas is asking for in return.
“The problem is that Zach still is seen as the Zach Randolph from Portland – he’s got baggage – and people wonder if this is it for Eddy,” said one executive. “And, they’ve got some rough contracts.”
Curry has struggled for much of the season.
“The question is whether he’s regressed or, is this it, he’s not getting any better?” said the executive. “You have to remember, when Eddy came out of Chicago, he was regarded as someone who did not like to work and who did not like basketball. So do you blame Zach’s presence, or do you say, Eddy doesn’t have the upside the Knicks thought he had? In either case, the experiment with Zach has not worked.”
The Knicks are hoping to hold onto David Lee, Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawford in any trade. [READ]
Curry is the only player in the history of the league that
can dominate on the offensive end and do absolutely nothing
on the other side of the ball.
Terrible….just terrible.
They had heart last year, that got us a 33 win season. whoopee dude. You can have heart, I’ll take wins.
No, leads are lost when defense isn’t played. You don’t have to score again, you just have to make sure the other team doesn’t. I don’t see Jamal taking lots of 7second shots, its more like the ball stagnates instead of moves around leaving whoever gets the ball last a desperation heave. If Craw and Zach are benched at the end of games, who is shooting the rock ? If you surrounded those 2 w/ some hardcore defenders, it would disguise their flaws and define everyones role on the team. Then if they continue to jack up bad shots then you have a point but as the club is currently constructed, what real choice is there ?
AF, You need to call Curry on the phone, he owes you money for filating him so often. That is the only explanation for not seeing how flawed the smallest 6’11″ player in the L is !!!
Obabma:
It’s funny that when the rumors were out there that Zach was being dealt to Milwaukee, folks on here thought it was a rumor. Pure lies.
Now, you’re citing the Daily News article as fact!
Wow! How things change quickly.
Yes! I still believe that Zach and Craw have destroyed the team concept.
If Zach is such a stud like most on here believe, why is he being rumored to be traded every Monday morning? His past?
Gimme a break!
BTW. You need to change that name, you’re not doing it any justice. You’re a waffler! Try Clinton instead.
DaVonn:
Ever heard of an All Star named Ben Wallace?
WTF is happening to my post ????
African
That is some funny shyt!
“BTW. You need to change that name, you’re not doing it any justice. You’re a waffler! Try Clinton instead.”
ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About as much rigidity as a jellyfish!
Well the site is rejecting my post.
African you are the only person w/ insight on this blog. You be you buddy. Ignorance is bliss.
Blame the scorers and tout Eddie as the next coming of Shaq. BRILLIANT.
Leads are lost when defense isn’t played. You don’t have to score again, you just have to make sure the other team doesn’t. I don’t see Jamal taking lots of 7second shots, its more like the ball stagnates instead of moves around leaving whoever gets the ball last a desperation heave. As long as we have change I’m happy.
Change in 08!!!!
I don’t care who we move (except Lee and Nate).
Change!!!!!!!
Big night tonight for Obama!!
Another sweep.
Anybody here remember when I said we will see Carter and Artest here
before the deadline?
It’s getting close.
Also remember guys…the more loses the better.
We should’ve lost that game against the Bucks.
We’ll get back to our losing ways tomorrow for sure….
Change in 08!!!!!!!!!!!
DaVonn:
Ever heard of an All Star named Ben Wallace?
I think he said EC plays on offense not on D. How do you compare him to Wallace ? At least Wallace is a specialist at one thing. What makes Eddie special ? Please don’t say size.
Would you rather have a player that averages 5 points a game, double digit rebounds and is a defensive factor or
a center that averages 15 points a game and 5 rebounds.
There is no comparison between Fat Boy and Wallace.
Give me Wallace any day of the week.
Thanks
Change in 08!!!!
AFRI-CAN,
Ben Wallace, when an All-Star played D,REBOUNDED, and bloced shots, a 3-Tool Player.
Curry Scores, No D, No Rebounds, doesn’t block shots, and can’t pass, a 1-Tool Player.
Afri-can you have compared Curry’s game on one level or another w/ Shaq, Kareem, & Ben Wallace.
You extrapolate 1 of Curry’s attribute and run w/ it.
Name another starting Center in the NBA, that when his team is on Defense, that is REMOVED from
the GAME during the last minute, due to Defense & Rebounding Purposes? Name 1?
AFRI-CAN who is Talkin out of their AZZ?
BTW-The Zach-trade rumors came from the same source. You gave those rumors CREDIBILITY, but you are
implying that the source of Curry’s trade rumors should not be believed.–Who’s Talkin out of their Azz?
Crawful, I could be wrong, it may have been Anti or ‘Lives’. I do APOLOGIZE if I misrepresented
you on Crawful. I attribute this to you being wrong on EVERYTHING ELSE, so I must have Lumped Crawful
in there w/ your other SHYT.
BTW–How is Ms. Clinton doing now?
Peace & Blessings
LMAO @ Statesman!!!
I didn’t say anything because I knew you would.
Wallace was the center on a NBA Championship team.
To compare Curry to him is terrible.
Shows you what type of fans people really are.
Damn shame.
How long has African been slurping Curry?
JohnQ:
Once again you caught me!
You’re so sharp!
States:
You take misrepresenting to a new level.
When did I ever compare Curry to Kareem?
The conversation was not too long aga, and it was on Shack’s ability to play in an uptempo game.
I brought back Kareem with the showtime Lakers as an example.
You keep talking out your ass.
I refered to Ben Wallace as a contrast to Curry because he’s useless on O, but still an All Star.
The point was that the team was constructed in such a way, he did not need to.
Pairing Curry with Zach is murder!
Zach disrupts the O, and plays less D than Curry.
You said what? Curry doesn’t rebound? He averaged 7 last year, and the Knicks were one of the leaders in that category in the league.
The HOF Shack was regularly taken out of games at the end for free throw shooting. What’s the difference.
He’s out of the game.
I’m not saying the trade rumor is not true. I really don’t know. The point was that the same ones that said it wasn’t the last time are acting like it’s a fact this time.
Don’t try twisting my words.
I really gave you too much credit.
AF,
“I refered to Ben Wallace as a contrast to Curry because he’s useless on O, but still an All Star.”
Well there it is bro……..If you play D like a monster but are inefficient on O as a C , you can be an all star. Buuuuuuut if you score like a monster but don’t apply that ferocity to the rest of your game as a C, you are worthless. 7 rebounds a game is mediocre for a 300 lb, 7 footer. Those were his best games by the way. Way to accentuate the positive.
Lives and Cooley, my condolences. May you find peace in the lord most high.
AFRI-CAN,
Curry’s name should never be used w/ Kareem or Shaq, PERIOD.
Curry’s 7-Rebounds a game, was his career high. Could have been a CAREER Year.
Also Curry does not understand, that you have to work on your game every Year.
Does Curry look as if he did any work in the offseason?
Last Year Q, could shoot, this year he can’t. Last Year, is Last Year.
Zach disrupts the O. Zach rebounds and Curry doesn’t.
Curry takes to long to warm up for each game. He does not get
going until late into 2nd quarter.-Poor Pregame Ritual.
Peace & Blessings
You guys believe in the herd mentality.
Everyone’s saying the same thing, so it must be right.
Not I!
The popular opinion in not necessarily the right one.
I’ll stand alone outside the “Blow Me Club”
I’ll continue to be wrong according to this herd.
Let’s hope the flock is not led astray.
JohnQ:
Do you understand the concept of averages?
what averages are u speaking of ?
14 points 4 rebounds 0 blocks 0 steal average ? Or how many points the other team averages against the paper D of E? Or the -11 we average w/ fat boy on the court?
Please explain averages to me oh wise one.
LMAO @ Post # 90…..
@ African…
“You guys believe in the herd mentality.
Everyone’s saying the same thing, so it must be right.
Not!”
No truer words can be spoken, bruh!!
That’s the beauty of this forum….that we can speak our collective “minds”, pontificate/debate the issues, and in the end, agree to disagree.
However, the one thing that 99.9% of us (sans you) agree upon is that Curry is useless.
About as useless as tits on a bull.
Not writing that off as fact, but a widely-held of opinion of some of the sharpest basketball minds this side of the Mississippi.
And you know you we don’t agree on everything…..somethings
Meant to say, “And you know you we don’t agree on everything…..just somethings”
That’s what I get for trying to blog during a teleconference at work….lol..
An interesting Chris Sheridan ESPN insder article is freely accesible today
Here is a portion of the article that discussed NY attempting to obtain Ron Artest with a trade package that would include Eddy Curry…
“Artest, meanwhile, is being publicly melancholic over his potential departure from the Kings, who are trying to include Kenny Thomas in any Artest deal.
Sources told ESPN.com that talks between the Kings and Nuggets, first reported by the Sacramento Bee, involved a larger deal than has been reported. In addition to wanting to include Thomas in their outgoing package, the Kings were believed to be seeking Linas Kleiza and Nene.
There remains a chance the talks could be restarted, sources said, if Sacramento were to drop its asking price, but the most the Nuggets are currently willing to surrender is a package of Eduardo Najera and a first-round draft pick.
“If Artest opts out like everyone expects, you’re basically talking about a rent-a-player deal,” said one Western Conference executive familiar with the Nuggets-Kings talks.
As disappointing as Eddy Curry has been, he might have trade value.
Another source told ESPN.com that the New York Knicks made overtures recently indicating they were willing to trade centers Eddy Curry and Jerome James for Artest and Thomas, but the Kings were balking at taking on the remaining two years and $12.8 million owed to James.
“The whole point of trying to package Artest with Thomas (due $7.9 million next season and $8.6 million in 2009-10) is to clear cap space. The Kings don’t want another guy (James) clogging their cap for two more years,” the source said.
The Nuggets’ willingness to give up this June’s first-round draft pick will keep them a player in the Artest stakes, but it also could make the difference in their pursuit of Memphis point guard Kyle Lowry, who is being shopped by the Memphis Grizzlies.’
Seems Like Curry is very expendable at this juncture. I wonder why!
JohnQ:
As you know, I’m not too bright, but I can surely help you.
An average is the sum(total points/rebounds) divided by the games played.
That means that some games you may have 12 rebounds, and some games you may have 4.
But overall, the “average” turns out to be 7. That’s why I was so baffled by your statement.
Who said there’s no value in kindergarden. That’s where I learnt this!
“7 rebounds a game is mediocre for a 300 lb, 7 footer. Those were his best games by the way. Way to accentuate the positive.”
Way to go JohnnyQ.
BX:
That’s exactly my point.
You believe there are the smartest minds on here, so they’re right. I disagree.
The crowd is never right to me. I think for myself, and form my opinion.
Disagreeing with me is nothing new.
99% of opinions does not sway me.
Again, the popular opinion does not mean it’s right.
States:
You’re embarassing yourself.
Didn’t I just say that the conversation was about Shack in relation to Kareem with an uptempo team?
Curry wasn’t even the discussion!
Do you want some backing from the “Blow Me” audience?
Good try!
O & B,
It must be something about the law of averages. lol.
Trading Curry for Artest would be one of the dumbest moves Zeke could do at this time.
It would rank right up there with the Zach trade!
No child left behind!
“7 rebounds a game is mediocre for a 300 lb, 7 footer. Those were his best games by the way. Way to accentuate the positive.”
LMAO!!
Negro Please!!!
