Knicks at Bucks

February 9, 2008 – 8:42 pm

Tonight the New York Knicks take their league-worst 8-game losing streak on the road to face the Milwaukee Bucks, who are 13-8 at home this season season.

The Knicks put up a good fight against the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs last night, pushing the game to overtime, but in the end it was the Spurs who came out of New York with the victory.

Coach and chief team architect Isiah Thomas, had he any loyalty or respect for the Knicks organization or its fans, would have quit by now just to stop the bleeding.  Thomas has no intention of leaving voluntarily, because he wants to get paid the remainder of the contract extension he signed at this time just last season (I was against the extension at the time it happened, Dolan screwed up big-time that day).  This must be the reason James Dolan does not fire Isiah Thomas during this season.

The Knicks are now 14-36, so this horse manure about blaming infamous scapegoat Stephon Marbury for the Knicks’ problems can finally be put to rest, because the Knicks are simply a bad team that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Bad teams find a way to lose, good teams find a way to win, in this league.  The knicks have been pretty close in their last 10 or 12 games, but obviously they still find a way to lose almost every night, and close matters little in the NBA.  Expecting the Knicks to win is setting yourself up for more heartbreak.

Go ahead and call me Frank Isola again, that means very little to me at this point, because this team needs new management and new coaching, ASAP.   Quite frankly, this team loses 72% of the games it plays, and the coach/gm has the audacity to blame the fans, the media and everyone else for their bad play instead of looking in the mirror.

I’m still going to watch the games, and I can never root against any Knicks team, because it is the only sports team I am a  true fan of, but I don’t agree with the direction of the franchise and hope for better days once changes are made.

  2. You’re never alone Blogzilla. We fans just need to understand the role of the script writers in the NBA. One day our number
will be called again. And we will be here as fans. In the meantime, let go, let God.

  10. KnicksD,
I like this Knick team! Maybe Zeke learned tonight who needs to be on
the court! This team is exciting and better than our record! We could just easly have had
a 9 game win steak with a few lucky bounces! At least wait until the fat lady sings!
What will you say if this team gets back into the mix in the terrible east?

  11. ATL in 6th seed with 21 wins!
31 games left to catch up on 6 games????
It would by far not be the most stunning
    sports story of the decade!

    I BELIEVE!!!!!!

  12. Missed the game but had to put in some time with my girl.

I’ll have to watch Knicks Rewind at 2:00 AM, but I’m glad they won.

    Hey Peaceman

Anything is possible, although it would make for a for an improbable turnaround.

    Good night diehard Knick Fans!

  14. I didn’t know the Knicks are the 4th youngest team in the NBA!
They have played well the last 8 games.

The Knicks can make up ground in the east after the All Star Game.
    We have to pass
    1. Charlotte 18-32
    2. Bucks 19-33
    3.Pacers 21-30
    4.Bulls 20-30
    5.Sixers 21-30
    6.Nets 8th seed 21-29
We can do this and I would bet against these Knicks
The 7th and 6th place teams records are really no better
and it would not surprise me to end up right next to them!

    7.ATL 7th seed 21-26
    8. Washington 6th seed 24-25 on a 6 game slide as of right now!
This can be one of the best years in reguards to making a run
at the end of this season vs last years collapse!
WE CAN DO THIS….OUR SHIP IS NOT SINKING!!!

  16. Whatup yall? We are starting to turn the corner in my opinion. Well be alright. Keep the faith!

  17. Well for whatever it’s worth, the fellowship of all the defender’s and die hard Knick fans here has been the silver lining amidst the downturns of this losing season.

I hope before the season is over to hear from more of the bloggers here.

I checked the standings and were in the 5th spot for the lottery and about 6 spots out of the final playoff spot.

Come what may, I would just like the team on the floor to be competitive night in and night out. I believe that will carry over should they make the playoffs or should they have to start from square one in the offseason.

    Good weekend to all.

I don’t want to get my hopes up over ONE game.

I would like to think we have “turned the corner”,but it’s February 10, and we are 21 games under .500.

AND Zeke is NOT looking to trade anyone…………where is the hope?

Still going down with the Orange and Blue ship, right behind Steady and Peaceman.

  19. Despite losing all those games on the western swing, we were in every single one, with the exception of Utah.Think about all the games we could have won with a break here or there. The fact is the effort is there and young guys are learning what it takes to close out a game on a higher level. No doubt we need help at the point, and some shot blocking.Jamal is also clearly a two.But things even out over a season.Lee is learning he CAN shoot and that is important.Balkman needs to work on his shot and let it go when it is his shot. That’s called growth. These guys, including Mardy and the rook have large upsides. If Nate continues to grow as a point we’ll continue to improve.Curry is still the key, but he will not improve without a summer of hard work.If he comes back the same I would trade him in a minute. Are the playoffs possible? In a very weak east a run of 5 or 6 games puts a hard working group in position to make a final run. This is really more of a test of the coaching staff than it is of the players’ talents.A team that continues to play hard will win their share. This team can deliver if they push themselves to the next level, consistency. If they bring that every night, we’ll be okay.lgk

  20. D L T,
No te preocupes hermano! Even on that so-called sinking ship, we will not fail. We have the best life preservers–they are called hope and faith. Notice how wehn you remain steady in the water, the body naturally rises to float as opposed to sinking by struggling and fighting for air out of fear. Be not afraid NYK fans and Defenders. Remain steady in your passions–even if it means floating on to the next season after a brief run to the playoffs. We’ve done in 94-95, we will rise again.
