Knicks at Jazz

by knicksdefense on January 30, 2008

Still feel the sting from giving the lakers the victory yesterday, but I guess we move on and go to Utah tonight to face a Jazz team with a top-notch home record.

Our old pal Stu Jackson just announced that Renaldo Balkman will be suspended for one game for the flagrant foul elbow he threw at that sissy Laker Sasha Vujacic or however you say his name.  Taz will not be available to play tonight due to the 1-game suspension.

I read some of the defenders implying that David Lee was the cause of the loss last night and I urge you to revisit the game.  David Lee was one of the players keeping the Knicks in the game.  If you’re looking for someone to blame, perhaps look in the direction of the bench.

2 BARF January 30, 2008 at 6:06 pm

why would portland get themselves involved in this trade is beyond me

Nets in three-way talks for Kidd

In the proposed trade, Dallas and Portland would send the Nets a package that includes the Mavs’ Devean George and Jerry Stackhouse and Blazers forwards Travis Outlaw and Channing Frye and guard Jarrett Jack. Mavericks point guard Devin Harris would be sent to Portland. Along with Kidd, the Nets would send reserve forward Malik Allen and center Jamaal Magloire to Dallas.

The Nets would also receive at least one future No. 1 pick and cash. It’s expected that New Jersey would work a buyout with Stackhouse and allow him to be a free agent. Other players could be included to balance the exchange of contracts.

3 BARF January 30, 2008 at 6:21 pm

That trade proposal makes no sense whatsoever for Portland. Devin Harris is hurt and Outlaw is having a solid year…finally. They trade Trav, Frye and Jack and a pick? HAHA. Never happen. Who writes this garbage up?

B&B’s proposal makes a lot more sense than this crap and I don’t think it’ll happen. So whats that say about this proposal? Trade machine rookies they are.

9pm gametime seems so far away. Damn west coast swings.

my bad chuck FM. I got the flu the other day, and it’s messing with me. i never get sick. maybe when your favorite team loses all the time, perhaps it weakens your immune system.

Agreed BARF, sounds like crazytalk…kd no worries, even michael jordan missed a dunk every once in a blue moon ;-)

It would be nice if Zeke the GM checked in here from time to time so that he would have more trade scenarios in his head to ponder.

Oh well.

Damn the last thread got all blown up with some heavy wheight epics regarding the late quarter debacle in L.

Great reads, excellent reads.

Liked, BARF’s all is relative and and plenty of blame to go around rant.

Damn Zeke consider my proposal ((plus NY and Dalls’ 1rst rounders) you turd!

Eddy Curry was caught by members of the Utah farmers group today
out in a Cow pasture, hogging the cows “Salt licks!”
No charges will be Filed. “I was just hungery” said Eddy!

8 Black and Blue January 30, 2008 at 8:51 pm

ROFLMAO!!!!

Your killing me Peaceman!

9 HarleminMD January 30, 2008 at 8:53 pm

The debate on the previous thread was very good. Solid arguments made by many.

One of the biggest responsibilities of a coach is to establish a rotation and control the minutes of your core players to allow that player to be efficient. All of our players were shooting well. Even Jeffries and Balkman hit long jumpers. The team was operating at a high level. But our main guy, was playing a lot of minutes.

You cannot just look at Crawford’s minutes as an indicator of his play. Crawford play 43.5 minutes, against SG on defense, and as a PG/SG on offense. He brings the ball up, initiates the play, and if becomes the bailout option when the bigs are stymied. That’s a lot of responsibility. It was easier when marbury was here; he shared that role with Marbury. He is the only true guard in that role right now.

It is important for Isiah to keep Crawford as fresh as possible. This was the perfect game to do that in the first half! We had our complimentary players making shots. Nate was being Nate-squared, Lee was a magician, catching and finishing shots that no one would think is possible. Q is producing. Kobe was resting and deferring to his teammates. Crawford should have rested more.

Crawford had a shot at the top of the key in the second half that made me want to break my computer. The shot clock was in single digits and he shoots an airball. If I am the coach, I immediately take him out of the game, not because he shot an airball, but because he had no legs. Lee was getting his shot blocked late because he had no legs.

Reading the boxscore makes me sick. It says we used 9 men, but 3 of those men had approximately 10 minutes. Curry had 16, because of foul trouble. The remaining 5 had the majority minutes. That’s not good enough. We need 3 guys off the bench to have at least 20 minutes. Mardy needs to have more than 10. If we establish a guard rotatation of

Mardy-Jamal
Nate-Jamal
Mardy-Nate
[Best guard of the night]-Jamal

then we will have a good rotation of our guards. Again, Mardy does not have to shoot. All he has to do is distribute and defend. He is not a star, but he is a good complimentary player and he should have role in helping us help Jamal and Nate.

Let’s

The SCHOLAR is Balling YO!

15 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 10:05 pm

The only thing I can speculate is that Chandler must
really suck if he can’t get burn tonight?????
Maybe Zeke dosn’t want people to see how bad he really is?
His Draft streak may be done if Chandler is a bozo?
Did Zeke hit the Depaul wall????

16 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 10:08 pm

Jamal and Zach are keeping us in this game.

27 George M. January 30, 2008 at 10:38 pm

Collins the D-Leaguer has struck too many times tonight. What gives??? Does anyone have an idea why he’s playing like a D-leaguer at this time??? On defense anyway.

28 DaVonn Jefferson January 30, 2008 at 10:45 pm

29 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 10:45 pm

35 Jay Bee January 30, 2008 at 11:10 pm

I’m in. Had some homework issues with my oldest so I had to put that Jerry Tarkanian Amoeba defense on his azz.

36 Jay Bee January 30, 2008 at 11:10 pm

Flu bug seems to be contagious.

37 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Good pass Mardy!

38 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 11:16 pm

Fuck Collins!

39 Top Shotta January 30, 2008 at 11:17 pm

Maybe we should start thinking top draft pick (Derrick Rose), and forget about the playoffs.. I’m sure Pat Riley will start tanking games soon, maybe we should do the same….Collins with a dumb play again.

40 Jay Bee January 30, 2008 at 11:17 pm

96-89 Jazz. 2:16 in the 4th. Doesn’t seem like we can get any stops. So it’s not looking good.

41 BARF January 30, 2008 at 11:17 pm

what happened?

curry with 5 minutes?

i’m not trying to watch this game i have recorded if it’ll be a waste of time.

42 DaVonn Jefferson January 30, 2008 at 11:17 pm

Collins is another blow to Thomas GM resume.
So far we got Curry and Collins as 2 busts for Isiah.

Terrible…..just terrible.

43 Jay Bee January 30, 2008 at 11:18 pm

No magic tonight.

44 Peaceman January 30, 2008 at 11:18 pm

We suck, We suck, we suck!

45 Bronxboy in Md January 30, 2008 at 11:19 pm

What ever happened to Frank Williams?????

46 DaVonn Jefferson January 30, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Things are finally getting back to normal for the Knicks.
The more losses the better.

Riley is already throwing games.
Shaq is out for a while and Wade and Haslem are not
playing tomorrow. Riley is not dumb.
He knows what he needs to do and he’s going to do it.
Why we don’t do the same thing is beyond me.

Anybody here have a clue?

47 Jay Bee January 30, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Zach takes an 11 pointer. No good. Ball game. GTFOH.

48 Bronxboy in Md January 30, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Who was it that predicted the Knicks would win 57 games this year??

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

49 Edward January 30, 2008 at 11:21 pm

@30 – haha!

50 Top Shotta January 30, 2008 at 11:23 pm

Frank Williams is out of the league…We probably could use him over Collins at this point- what a wasted draft pick Collins is.
