Knicks@Wizards

Hey, regardless of exactly why, the knicks are winning so let’s keep the ball rolling New York and learn how to win one on the road. In time, we’ll know the exact reasons why we’ve had three solid wins against top teams, because we’ll either keep winning, or revert back to what we’ve been doing for the majority of the season.

You know Caron and company are going to come out strong, because we just beat them, so lets see good continuity from tip-off to the final buzzer.

Force MD’s, please represent our Knicks defense brotherhood with orange and blue colors in D.C. and I’ll do my best to do the same from the pub down the street. Who knows, in time maybe we’ll have our defenders in every NBA city showing up at game time, I know there are truly knicks fans everywhere.

So Stephon’s having surgery. Good luck to you, Steph. Looks like Isiah’s sustained, season-long effort to paint you as the scapegoat for this team’s struggles is nearing consensus, but I’m not buying it. Truth is, he is just now playing the guys that SHOULD have been getting burn all season long. That’s a conspiracy to me. MSM asked Isiah why Balk didn’t play for six weeks and Isiah made up some fake crap up that Balk didn’t even understand when they asked him about it. Quite frankly, Isiah is more Machiavellian than some of the dudes running in the primaries right now. Hope you prove them wrong Steph while the knicks keep this winning thing going. However, if it turns out down the road that the knicks can’t win with you, it will be time for you to go. But we’re not there yet in my eyes because I can’t even remember a time when you and Balk were on the court together, let alone you, Nate and Balk.

Anyone heard anything about the injury Jeffries sustained last game against the Nets?

In keeping with DVJ’s reverse prediction trends, I’m going to change things up and hope that Chandler DOES NOT play tonight, and see if that makes a difference.

reshufflin’ the deck..

dealin’ Jay Bee in this hand.

2 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:20 pm

Yeah I like that kid. He seemed to have a winner’s mentality and a great work ethic. I project him as a star in two years only because it’s going to take that long for people to get to know him. Which is why I think either Antawn or Injured Zero will be gone by year’s end. To make room and give the kid some shots.

3 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:23 pm

Cosign on #146. That’s what outside shooting will do for you. Last game against the Nets Zach and Eddy started beating ‘em up inside in the third quarter.

4 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Someone needs to drive to the hole.

5 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Enough of this jumpshooting. It’s man time.

6 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:25 pm

That’s the end of Jamal’s streak isn’t it?

7 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:27 pm

Randolph cuts fed by Crawford, score!! Tie game muthafu$%&#!!!

8 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:30 pm

Eddy Curry 7-8 from the line. At least he’s doing a good job on the stripe. He’s got to get more aggressive this quarter. Somebody give that man a gatorade.

9 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:30 pm

With some hot sauce.

10 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:31 pm

71 – 65 Gizards after a mini-run.

11 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:33 pm

They are not challenging the bigs for our team. It’s there. We just have to be willing take it. It’s Balkman time. Pull Q. He may be hot but he’s hurt.

12 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:36 pm

We’re down by 8. 82-74 Wiz.

13 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Time to regroup NY! Show your Heart!!!!!!

14 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:39 pm

The pace has taken its toll. Jump shooting teams fall apart at this pace by the fourth. The Knicks best bet is to slow it down and bang inside. Nate and Jamal are tired. They won’t regain enough energy without sitting on the bench. New Knick weakness. No depth at point.

15 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Isiah will need to learn how to use Collins soon.

16 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Zeke took too long to get the energy crew in there.

17 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:43 pm

Pull Q. Pull Q.

18 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:45 pm

We need Balkman on Butler.

19 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:45 pm

The good thing is that the Wizard jumpshooters will tire enough for a run if we have any energy.

20 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 8:47 pm

Good defensive close out of that quarter!
GUT CHECK TIME KNICKS!!!!

21 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:48 pm

Jay Bee, the catalyst for the energy crew was already in there. Does the energizer bunny have enough left to make a 10 minute long run. Here is where a clear-headed driving guard would help.

22 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:50 pm

Nate needs to penetrate and get that foul.

23 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:50 pm

That’s what I’m talking about. The points are there.

24 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 8:50 pm

8-0 run Knicks!

25 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:51 pm

I love this game.

26 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 8:56 pm

99-90 Wiz

27 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:57 pm

It’s almost time for Jamal to return, but the Knicks must keep playing that inside game. slowing the pace down and forcing the Wizards to keep taking difficult jumpers. That was a tough shot by David. You wish he would take those, but earlier in the game. We can afford the misses until he gets confidence then.

28 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 8:57 pm

Lots of time,I’m glad Craw is getting a rest!

29 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:57 pm

Break Caron’s arm.

30 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Curry. Wrong sub.

31 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:01 pm

Jamison abusing D. Lee. We’re in trouble. Some coaching would be nice right about now. Down 11 we just need a couple of stops.

32 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 9:03 pm

I can’t believe their doubleing Crawford!!!!

33 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:03 pm

They’re too tired. That is when execution and decisionmaking are at their worse. The energy guys have been zapped. They had the Wizards on their heels but Jamison has been pure with little resistance.

34 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:04 pm

We need Steve Francis.

35 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:06 pm

No magic so far tonight.

36 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:06 pm

Curry. Wrong sub

37 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:07 pm

Yeah, Jay Bee. The “Magic” played the whole game. Not enough left.

38 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:08 pm

109-94 Lizards. Timeout Knicks.

39 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:08 pm

I hope we have something for Miami tomorrow.

40 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:11 pm

This is a bad sign for that Philly, Golden State, LA game. Pace, Pace, Pace.

41 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Good news about tonight is that the starters logged a lot of minutes so there is a chance the young guys could get some time tomorrow. Bad news is that the starters logged a lot of minutes and you know Zeke is going to play them regardless.

42 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Miami is starting to take it to Portland. If they win that game they will be looking at us with confidence in their eyes.

43 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:15 pm

76ers up on Boston by 2. 63-61

44 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:17 pm

G.O. We take the “L” back with us.

45 Peaceman January 18, 2008 at 9:24 pm

This Wiz team is no slough! We played a good game!
We just have to pick it a noch tomorrow!
I’ll take 4 out of 5 the rest of the season!

One Major point that sticks out! LEE and Balkman and Jeffries
lack of offense Killed us tonight!
LEE took the most hidious shot I have seen this year!
Even topped the Scholar and Jeffries memorial shots!

46 Black and Blue January 18, 2008 at 9:27 pm

So the mini streak is over.

I won’t take a position on whether they’ve turned the corner or not on this game.

If they had won the question would be, how will they handle the recent success? Would they come out flat against the Heat, a team some may percieve to be worse than us right now?

The other question is how do they handle some adversity. The loss stops the streak but whats more tommorow they will play the last game of 4 game in 5 nights. Will they come out and compete, or will they wilt. Can they get 3 o 4 and rest up for a showdown with the Celtics? Or have the Knicks hit there zenith?

I really hope they get it together for tommorrow tired and all, b/c the heat is the team that was part of the early season downward spiral. I want blood. I’m sick of death by white chocolate, and post dinosaur.

See you guys tommorow.

Bring in Mbenga, we lack international players, and a dude to do dirty deeds in the post/middle.

47 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:35 pm

We need that game tomorrow. They should be angry about this one. They let this one get away from them.

48 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York January 18, 2008 at 9:37 pm

Jeffries is very useful.

This game is simple.

First of all, we had no defense. Q just can’t stop Butler. Jamison shoots over Zach who is such a hardworking mug. Everybody goes around David. Balk leaves teh baseline open and Curry is like a Statue of Liberty in the post calling on the tired, the poor and the huddled masses to get free lay-ups.

Second, we were lulled by our own perimeter success and we became a jump shooting team at the “Not So O’K Corral” against a seasoned jumpshooting team. At this pace, you lose your legs too fast and your jump shooting accuracy doesn’t exist.

Third, neither Crawford nor Nate penetrated enough in the second half. That is a good way to conserve energy and score points because it stopss the clock and puts you on the line and the WIzards cannot handle either of them off the dribble. The Knicks are short a penetrating guard. A pure pass first guard would help.

There is no fix for the guard problems. Crawford will log heavy minutes by necessity. Jones is definitely not the most deft ballhandler on the east coast.

We can beat Miami, but the next four are matchup problems galore.

49 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:42 pm

IMO – Too much Q. Once again he was hot early, second half – nothing. I’m breathing deeply. I’ll be o.k.

50 Jay Bee January 18, 2008 at 9:44 pm

Probably a game where we could’ve used a guard who drives to the hole like a man.
