Knicks Poll: is it Zach or Eddy?

isn’t it supposed to be a long season? How did January get here so fast? All star game is coming and we only have 8 wins on the season.

You’re right KnickDefense,
The discussion was quite lively. If only the fans could get a sneak preview of the script that the NYK and Heat actors have been handed, then we could know if this is a wasted season or not.
Blogzilla,
One thing is for sure, many lurkers come here and then go back to their MSM cushy job to emulate. First, it was the Boozer using the 3-card Monte description that was exclusively designed for the Defenders’ entertainment at Knickdefense. And then, there’s an open letter by Boils to IT made popular by our own Defender Lives “The Straw”. Boozer and Boils–those cats at Posts are plagiarists. Just bloggin’

Steady my man,
seeing your post, I posted almost the exact thing last blog!(Great minds think alike)

By Peaceman on Jan 7, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Starburyfan, I already cast my vote and I think you know who. Of course, my extensive commentary on the last thread should suffice on this topic! I enjoyed the exchange. We need a mild injury to both to settle this thing!!!

did you read my two cents on why I choose Curry over Zack.
It is one of the next to last post on the prior thread.
Tell me what you think.
Also I think Berman, took a lil summin summin from my rant on Isiah’s non-accountability, and his failure to man up to his team and placing some blame squarely on his shoulders.

By knicksdefense on Jan 7, 2008 at 10:28 pm
They won’t cite their references. But we know the truth, they are frauds. They use the bloggers to do research, come up with original and/or funny opinions and then they’ll have a kid check the sources on stats/facts. Last thing to do is to put some MSM salty spin on it, slap their sissified name on it as their own and it looks as if they are great journalists.

Sorry Peaceman Way back since Isolated we established that we are always in the NY state of mind. I just read back aand noticed that in post 192, you made the same observation. Vecsey was also calling Zeke a 3-card Monte.
For the record, I’m a spoiled NYer and I like my bigs like the Big Fella who once roamed in Mecca. That warrior, grit, internal fortitude, never say die, and “gonna-fuck-you-up-if-you-come-back-up-in-here” playah. Over the summer, I blogged that my problem with EddiE began when he said “It’s not up to me to make it work, it’s up to Isiah to make the trade work”. Statesman and PaulNoize have already said all that must be said on this topic. I co-sign on their posts in absentia on the last thread. Cleo Naismith can rise up from the dead and never achieve/coach EFFORT. Thus, Steady calls on EddiE giving a front and back E with hopes that he can generate some EFFORT on both sides of the court–a full 90 ft. Even Biff (that same dude from Long Island in the yellow Porche) can see that EddiE is overweight, not in game condition, and a puffed shell of the player he needs to be. IT knows what’s good and there’s no reason why the two professional players can’t get into the team concept for the benefit of the franchise. I would keep and coach them both. If I must ride, I go with EFFORT. The culprit shall sit or go to the Fat Boy camp or see Jenny Craig or Dr. Atkins or drink sour Starbury Lemonade until it passes him like a laxative to pass all that weight. Don’t just sit there–do something.
HarlemMD,
Are you still down for 777 7th @ 7 with da Balkman jersey on? The Miracle is on the way. Hope he’s not traded before then. The fantasy GMs here have him moving all over the NBA.
DVJ,
Witty stuff. Very witty.
Modi,
Somewhat stumped by the retraction. The wntirety of the Zach trade still makes the most sense. You’re premature in the analysis. The problem with Zach and EddiE was already covered in your piece about the failings of Zeke the coach. Then again, he’s the lone professional and HOF who is knowingly dealing with this problem. He better know what’s good.
Defenders,
Been dealing with a tragedy that took place in Sudan where a fellow NYer and colleague was slain on New Year’s Day. He was a graduate of Canisius High class of 94. His Sudanese driver was also blazed. May their SRIP because they were fulfilling their purpose on this traverse and plane. Basketball is so “SMALL” in that context.
On the day when we learn that MV7 may be out by November following drug treatment, we read about those chokling with the Veil of Hypocrates. The Supreme Court is to hear arguments about the drug cocktail used to “destroy” prisoners was banned by vetenarians years ago (in the 1970s) because the pain was deemed cruel, unusual and inhumane to the animals. Fast forward to today (2008), the same cocktail is still being used on “HUMANS” and the arguments are just coming out today that the cocktail is INHUMANE. Go figure!!! Black Male Bashing is “BIG” in that context.

Artest still seems to be talking about turning the Knicks around.
Artest wants to be … a savior
“The Kings’ injured Ron Artest says he’d love to go home to the Knicks, who visit the Bulls on Tuesday night. “Anywhere I go I can turn things around, given the opportunity,” Artest said. The Knicks have been in talks to trade for Artest all season. Zach Randolph is now saying maybe he shouldn’t have been traded to New York. Many see him as a low-post threat that teams like the Bulls need. But his holding the ball and isolating appears to have curtailed Eddy Curry’s production in New York.”
Goodnight Fellas
By Black and Blue on Jan 7, 2008 at 11:12 pm
B&B, I fully agree with your 2 cents. If you are going to be a ball hog, do it from 3 feet within the basket.
Steady, here is why i reversed my original position on the Zach trade. In the Book of Isiah, i wrote this:
“In the worst case scenario where the post isn’t big enough for Curry and Randolph, one can always obtain value in a trade. In the final analysis, this trade is a straight-up steal.”
What I had never considered was just how much the pairing wouldn’t work and that the cost could be a full year of development and chemistry-building. It is like the Larry Brown year all over again. I don’t mind losing so much if some intangible progress is going on. Now it is still possible to turn Curry or Zach into a better-fitting part, but a wasted year of development is too big a price IMHO. So yes, if I could undo the Zach trade and continue the progress of last year pre-injuries, then I would. (Buying out Steve Francis of course!)
…and hey, at least it wasn’t a premature retraculation…
By MODI on Jan 7, 2008 at 11:43 pm
Hey Modi,
A premature retraculation would be just as wholesome as the mental masturbation from many posters in the last thread–good for the goose and the gander. Moreover, it would be un-steady of you. But then again, you are Modi and not Steady.

nichols called up from d-league by chi
By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 2:04 am
at least they know to play their young guys in the d-league before they get so rusty they get hurt when their number is called (mardy collins, renaldo balkman) in the pros.
let me tell you something about mardy. mardy had hops. when he was a rookie, before any preseason games were even played, I saw Mardy and Renaldo play the celebrity wheelchair classic game in the garden, the one artest goes to every year. rondo was there, gerald green, the dunk champ was there too–many of the celtics were there that year. charles smith played that game as well, and yes, the knicks fans still boo charles smith, in case you were wondering.
let me tell you something, mardy and renaldo were doing alley’s on the break just as sick if not more sick than green and rondo’s stuff. mardy had hops, where they’ve since went, i don’t know. the last time i saw that kid go in for a layup he barely got three inches off the ground and it was obvious that his vert was effected by the knee surgery. i hope the kid can come back from it because he did impress me at the end of last season and renaldo impressed us all last season so I’m hoping these young players can still do what they came in this league to do.
same exact thing is happening now to morris and chandler. these guys need to find some minutes on this team, the knicks are losing nearly every game anyway so I don’t see what the problem is.
By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 2:14 am
KnicksD
Is there any possible reason why the Knicks didn’t send there rooks down to the Dleague? I recall someone mention that the spots count against the roster spots on the teams prosquad but in addition if the players are in the Dleague then another team can actually have access to them.
Is that correct?
If not, then Isiah did his young guns s terrible diservice. I understand that he wants to hide his cards and all but that hurts the kids, especially on a team where floor time is allocated to the older “more established” players with bigger paychecks (and attitude problems). We’d at least have our young guys develop some confidence if they were playing Dleague ball, and they would be ready to insert, or more ready to insert, into the Knicks roster should the team experience injuries or a pathetic season led by out “star” players.

Hey Thomas is determined…
Determined not to leave the pine just yet.
Thomas said the following regarding his commitment to right the Knicks sinking/stinking ship.
“I know I won’t find a more passionate person and a more committed person to do this than myself,” Thomas said. “Sure, there could be smarter people. But in terms of the determination and a passion to make it right, I know I’m not going to find anyone out there who wants to do it more than I want to do it right now.”
LMFAO!
A smarter more objective person coaching and assessing on the court progress or a passionate ego-maniac determined to right the ship?
You decided.
Also Q Rich will be sitting for tonights game.
Even Funnier, is the reason Curry bemoans his time in Chicago under GM John Paxson.
“He’s extremely hard on you, especially (when) you’re going as hard as you can and he continues to push us,” Curry said. “I’m pretty sure you can only take so much.”
The so much Curry can take is why he appears to have reached the current mum plateau on his “development” and of course taken the wheels off of his “potential.”

Good morning, gents! I’m quite exhausted after yesterday. MODI rose to the occasion and started offering some quality grist for the mill. I don’t find any of it convincing, some of my questions/points still lay unaddressed, but at least he came back and reignited my faith in his rational powers.
So, not like I’m saying we’ve got equal arguments here, but there does come a point where you’ve got some information/data laid out in front of you and if the results are not overwhelmingly obvious, it then comes down to the dangerous and petty matter of interpretation. People choose what they want to see in order to defend a position and I’m no more immune to that than anyone else.
Last year the Knicks did have something going for a good while (there was a five week stretch where they won 5 games against teams with a .500 record or better). That is not in question. But was it for real? Was it a deal like Portland where something is brewing and you’re only lacking one major piece to take you over the top to being a championship contender? I don’t believe so. Not any more.
Even in October, I was more excited by the prospect of this offseason than whatever would turn out this season. I thought we were about one piece away. But what’s become clear to me is that stretch last season (and we can argue about how long it was) was more mirage than material. That was a team waiting for the right pressure to crack them. They’ve been cracked this season and I don’t think they can be put back together again.
So, for me, it comes down to figuring out going-forward plans. With whom do you want to build the basis of a championship team.
In Curry you have a high percentage ball hog who hurts you too often on the defensive end and is a pout waiting to happen. Btw, last season, Curry never carried the team by himself. Whenever they won, he always had someone else shooting over 44% (and with 10+ shots) with him. Zach, for all his inappropriate ball hogging, is still one of the top FG% shooters for his position in the NBA, will do what he can on defense, is a top rebounder and theif for his position and is a hardnosed dude.
That team last year was not ready for deep into the playoffs run. It would require some major moves yet. My philosophy is that I’d rather build around/coach up the foibles of the hardnosed guy than the guy who could be beat up by Kevin Duckworth.
So when I vote above, I’m thinking of who’s giving me more long-term benefit, not who can get us to win over subpar teams and annoy the elite teams now.
****
Ever have a friend who swears up and down he can quit [whatever] any time but he just don’t wanna? I had a good buddy like that and he used to test himself every now and then. Almost never worked out that he would stick to his moratorium but I lauded the effort. Well, I’m going to try that for myself for a lil bit re KD. Really, I need to. When you’re so wrapped up in stuff that you’re taking time away from other crap you need to do, you need to check yourself. I enjoy myself a little too much with this
I’ll be back on the weekend, fellaz. In the meantime and inbetween time LGK!!

There is no litmus test for chemistry.
The only thing you can do, is to look at before and after.
Knicks:
Before Zach, this team had chemistry.
After Zach, no chemistry.
Portland:
With Zach, no chemistry.
Without Zach, chemistry.

“The Why? Chronicles”
Good morning Gentle Defenders. I hope you guys have a fabulous day today. I thought I would just pop in for a moment and congratulate you all on keeping the fire burning at KD while it’s all wet at MSG. Great stuff. Participation is addictive, but so is peeking in and reading the next brilliant-bizarre-overreaching opinion spiced with selective stats and observations. Real fun reads.
I considered writing a piece called “The Great Debaters” which featured a game show “Can You Coach Better Than A Fifth Grader?” The premise had African, Modi and PaulNoize arguing the affirmative of “Zach Is A Cancer and Curry Is A Center Piece.” In my version, African’s team refused to surrender home court advantage so while Cooley, Statesman, Follymocker and Black and Blue Blood argued their points from Harvard Yard, Modi was giving his spiel from a welfare motel in Newark. (PaulNoize? Yes somebody had to take the assignment of arguing on the side of the “demented duo” and Rockstar clearly has a hard-off for Af.)
A lot of things have are running through my head for that piece, but the dominant theme was I don’t have the time for such fun. Therefore, I must leave that idea on the “woulda, shoulda, coulda” pile with all the other partially written ( and some complete) pieces made irrelevant or humorless by the Knicks’ play this season.
Still, I decided to give you something that was easier to write and still relevant. The “Why Chronicles” which aren’t really Chronicles but the basis for them: interview questions for Isiah Thomas and Eddie Curry.
First, thanks to Peaceman and others for the recognition and the DNA analysis regarding the work of some of our professional writers out there. But there is no need and room for hating when the MSM borrows ideas, concepts, terms and the like for Knick Defense. Personally, I welcome it. It is further confirmation that you gentlefolks here are on the cutting edge of sports analysis and writing even though all we be doing is talkin’ smack. Your work should be read by a larger audience and writers borrow all the time. Furthermore, if I wanted to put an end to all the borrowing then I would need to change my profession and put it out there myself. You know how it is. If you don’t like the end zone celebrations, don’t let the opposition score. So as long as I don’t write this for a living or under copyright protection, I can’t stop the opposition from scoring points – so why bother worrying about it. Thanks for the props anyway.
So since the MSM is borrowing from KD, as they should because it’s the best stuff going, they can feel free to borrow the questions from my proposed interview unitl I decide to get a press pass and visit Zeke with my bop gun and press credentials in hand.
So the bottom line is that I just want to know WHY?WHY?WHY? For the KD Chronicle. Hence, the “WHY CHRONICLES.”
LIVES INTERVIEW QUESTIONS FOR ISIAH LORD THOMAS.L
Mr. Thomas why do you think your team has a record of 8-15?
You set high standards for yourself right? Do you think you have done a good job coaching this team?
Can you name three things you have done wrong and two things you have done right this season in terms of coaching this team?
What evidence are you basing your insistence that the Knicks play better with Eddie and Zach on the floor at the same time?
Did you realize that Zach must hold the ball for 3.1 seconds so that he gets into position for a move to the basket and that your offensive players stop moving in that time and the defense moves into better position?
Are any of your assistant coaches telling you that what you have been doing is a failure and that to keep doing the same thing begs for more failure?
Why do you insist on putting Q out on the floor when his shot has been off all season and the lack of outside shot clearly allows the defense to double post guys who have trouble passing out of the double team?
Last year you stated that you would concentrate on defense, yet from my vantage point that is not true. Crawford’s assignments consistently have career nights against him, Eddie barely shows on the post while setting picks against his own man and allowing the guards to run right by him, Zach tries but he barely gets off the ground and Q is consistently too small to disturb taller jumpshooters. Still, you put them all on the floor at the same time. What defensive philosophy are you following when you do this (Let the opponent score until they hurt themselves on the rim?)?
Do you regret your decision to bench Marbury when you could have done the same for most of the starting lineup based on their performance?
Do you believe reports that you have lost credibility for many of your players in the locker room?
Why don’t you pair Fred Jones and Stephon Marbury in the backcourt together? Don’t you think that would give you more defensive intensity and allow Stephon a little more freedom to control the tempo of the game?
Was Eddie Curry in top physical condition when the season started? Is he in top physical condition now?
In your estimation does Eddie Curry have the intellectual and emotional fortitude to be an all-star this year or next year?
Do you think that based upon the play of your starters a starting lineup of Marbury-Jones-Jeffries-Zach-Lee would bring you better energy?
Do you notice that your most well rounded three, who has a mid-range shot, athleticism and desire is Wilson Chandler. Why is he still on the bench?
You constantly claim you want energy on the floor, but Renaldo, the epitome of energy is constantly on the bench. Why? Did he do something to piss you off (like play hard)?
Do you really believe that night in and night out you put your players in the best position to win games and to appreciate their basketball experience? How do you do that?
As GM, aren’t you horrified by Isiah’s inability to coach this team to victory? Don’t you think he should be fired or do you just think he is blessed to have a job where he can consistently coach below his and everyone else’s standards?
For outside observers it seems that your basketball IQ has been shot to hell or that the offseason has thrown you off your game; can you tell us what has had the greatest impact on how you are coaching this team this year?
Are you and Dolan intentionally trying to throw this season for a shot at the lottery? (Don’t get insulted, some of your Knicks fans just want assurances that you are doing something right.)
LIVES’ QUESTIONS FOR EDDY CURRYEddy you are talked about as one of the nicest guys in the league; how do you think this demeanor impacts your performance on the court?
What is your teams defensive philosophy? Do you have a personal defensive philosophy?
What do you think is the importance of defense to your overall game?
I notice that the team has started giving you bounce passes instead of waist high passes which seemed to get knocked out of your hand? Why are you still having problems receiving the bounce passes?
Why are you such a poor rebounder? Often after a teammate takes a shot, you start running down the floor before the ball hits the rim? Why?
Have you improved any aspect of your game since last year? Is that your responsibility or the coaches responsibility?
Do you think you have given Isiah your best performance at all times or are you and your teammates playing poorly to send Isiah a message?
Do you think you will ever be an all-star and what will it take? Do you think a team could win a championship without rebounding and good defense from the center?
When was the last time you watched tapes of the great centers such as Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Shaq, Hakeem Olajawon and Kurt Russell? (I was just trying to get one by you big guy. I wanted to make sure you’re a student of the game as opposed to one of these money grubbers who believe I got mine, now I don’t need to give anything to the game.)
Do you think that you play best with Crawford and Marbury as part of your unit or Fred Jones and anybody else as part of your unit?
What do you like about Randolph’s game?
What do you like about Renaldo Balkman’s game?
Why is Q’s shooting so bad this year? Is he healthy?
What can you do to make this team better? Do you have any leadership skills?
Do you normally shut down from criticism or do you play better? Do you criticize your own work? What attribute do you have that you think a champion has?
Do you get motivated by the fact that Howard, Okafor, Duncan, Yao and Kristic are playing as well or better than you?
What legacy do you intend to leave when your career is over? How close will you be to one of the 100 greatest to ever play the game? Do you care?
Do you feel like you are giving Dolan his money’s worth in terms of your effort and skill?
Do you take any responsibility for the poor play of your team? What responsibility do you take? What must you do better? What are you going to do about it?
Can you think of a low post player who needs touches that you can play with? Who?
Are you currently in the best physical shape that you can be in?

On behalf of the families of Steady’s colleague and driver, along with the Men and Women who are being INHUMANELY TREATED in prisons and detentions facilities WORLDWIDE this prayer goes out to all of you…
Today’s Quote
We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.
Today’s Scripture
“Surely goodness and loving-kindness will follow me all the days of my life.” (Psalm 23:6).
Today’s Word
What are you expecting today? Are you expecting to rise higher in life? Are you expecting good breaks? Are you expecting goodness to follow you everywhere you go? If you are expecting to get the short end of the stick, your own wrong thinking will keep you in mediocrity. Remember, God will meet you at the level of your expectations. Pay attention to what you are thinking about and make the choice to believe God for good things. Every day, imagine there are blessings, favor, increase, and promotion in your path. They already have your name on it! It’s just a matter of time before you come across them. Start confessing everyday “Something good is going to happen to me today.” Stand strong when trouble comes, knowing that your best days are ahead. Believe that God’s blessings will overtake you! Expect goodness and mercy to chase you down. If you’ll learn to raise your level of expectancy, God will pour out His blessings and favor on you. You’ll rise to new levels and live the life of victory He has in store.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, today I expect your goodness and loving-kindness to surround me. I choose to believe that my best days are right out in front of me. Help me stand strong in You so that I can see Your blessing in every area of my life. Amen.
Have a productive and constructive day DEFENDERS…

The work is done in practice. The planning is done off the court. If you have chaos in a household you don’t blame the kids. The adults are in charge.NBA players are the best team athletes in the world. They are as capable of change and improvement as any other group of individuals, if properly motivated. When you become a GM, coach or assistant you have to know this.Losing is as much part of the game as winning, but it has to have a purpose. That purpose is individual and team improvement. That should be happening. If it isn’t blame goes to everyone in charge.Hope springs eternal, but patience comes to an end.LGK

That is a disturbing story cooleyhigh…
It shows that racism still exists in this country to the highest extent.
Especially in Texas!
Racist bastards!!
I want something like that to happen to me…I pray something like that
would happen to me.
I’m not a bad ass but…that’s just my thought.

(Sorry,I’m late)The correct answer is neither Zach or Eddy.
NEITHER has defense.
NEITHER can block a shot.
NEITHER plays consistant.
NEITHER hustles up and down the court.
..and NEITHER is wanted by other teams in a trade, that’s sad.

from the ny post:
” “I know I won’t find a more passionate person and a more committed person to do this than myself,” Thomas said. “Sure, there could be smarter people. But in terms of the determination and a passion to make it right, I know I’m not going to find anyone out there who wants to do it more than I want to do it right now.”
Speaking emotionally in front of Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute following practice on a balmy day in the Windy City, Thomas retaliated against recent remarks made to the Post by his former Pistons coach, Chuck Daly.
“Maybe he should move upstairs,” Daly said, citing the Knicks were no longer “competing” for Thomas.
Thomas’ remarks also came on the day a published letter to him from this beat writer begged him to leave the bench and focus on scouting for the Knicks’ likely lottery pick. The Knicks would be the No. 3 seed in the lottery as it stands.
“I am determined to fix this, to make this right,” Thomas said. “That’s how I want to leave it. I want to leave it right.” ”

a) when I see the cameras cut to a shot of isiah when they’re down 20-30 points, it doesn’t look like he cares not even half as much as the knicks fans sitting behind him. and i’m talking about the away games. he’s not even standing up off the bench most of the time this season.
b) why does isiah keep referring to the time when he is not coaching the knicks? if he is so focused on getting the team better and not quitting, why is he talking about “just give me two weeks” or “that’s how I want to leave it” or “i want to leave a legacy in New York”?
c) why does isiah think his work ethic is superior to all other coaching candidates? isn’t that underestimating and overlooking quite a few hard-working professional coaches around the world?
we are 8-24. we are not looking to make any changes at all to anything. not even the starting five, which is basically what it was at the beginning of the season. this is not good. the only thing they want is a new set of fans at the garden, the one thing they have absolutely no right whatsoever in the world to ask for.
this is absurd. i don’t understand what is going on with the knicks. the team isn’t competing, and doesn’t want to compete, not looking to bring in any new competitors, so how can you talk about winning championships under those intentionally sustained conditions?
By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 3:17 pm
DLT,
zach and eddy combined don’t equal one block per game. both guys operate below the rim, like most of the team. that’s why you need chandler in there, he’s a shot blocker on a team with no shot blockers (except for maybe balkman on occasion due to his quickness and tenacity).
jerome james should have been cut in training camp.
By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 3:20 pm
anybody got isiah’s fax #? i’d like to send over Lives’ questions or perhaps enlarge them for the next home game…
opinion diversity IS important guys, and if some of us come on here to let off some steam about this seemingly lost season, bare with us. i hope some of the guys with varying opinions come on here and share why we should be more optimistic with this knicks team. the silver lining is often lost when you lose seven in a row, after previously losing 8 in a row less not even two months ago. we were talking about the playoffs being a definite, perhaps upsetting in the first round, the poll we took had the average win total of 46 games. i haven’t seen that team play this year.

I feel you.I don’t also understand why no changes are coming.
After 32 games we now know for sure that this group is NOT getting it done.
If Zeke wants to coach, bring in other players.
If the players are fine, bring in another coach.
I think the problem here is either way he will have to admitt to failure,as a coach and/or a GM.
OR,maybe and just maybe, he is trying to get fired to collect his 24million which he probably won’t get if he quits.

Nice article. Most of us were bloggin’ in the summer how important Q would be to our team.
His defense and 3-point shooting would hide some of the Zach/EC combo problems.
His leadership is something the team needs badly.
But, it’s hard to be a good leader if you can’t lead by example(going 2 for 15 most nights doesn’t help).
I remember how tough and hard he was to guard inside the paint when he was in LAC-land,I wished him on our team.
Or,even with Phoenix the 3-point shooting,WOW!
Now we have neither, not even the leadership….0 for 3.

DEE-FENDERS,
Can the Ship Be Righted??
The Season has not been as Positive as we Hope/Predicted. We have taken our EYES OFF THE BALL and debated Excuses/Reasons why
the team is not performing up to Standard. Some could argue that we have more EXCUSES, and have pointed more FINGERS
then ZEKE & the PLAYERS. Hopefully we have RELEASED a lot of FRUSTRATION, because we STILL have 50 GAMES TO PLAY.
The Knicks may not ACHIEVE the LOFTY GOALS that some predicted. I recall DaVonn PREDICTED 57 WINS!!!. The 57 Win total is
STILL POSSIBLE. The Knicks need to finsh 49(w) & 1(L), To reach the YOUNGIN’S prediction.
DEE-FENDERS, I am not asking for RETRACTIONS (Modi), I am asking that w/ the EVIDENCE presented, what does EACH DEE-FENDER
believe will be the record over the last 50 games!!
Can the Ship be Righted??
Peace & Blessings

Re: Silver lining - Q is “injured”. Bring on the kids. Also, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m kinda looking forward to Snaxx coming back. J. Jonah has his faults, but he can’t be any worse than Curry has been, can he? Nobody’s talking about his rehab from his foot injury and whether that includes “fat camp” for him. Plus he ain’t 6′9”. He’s a legit 7′1” with go-rilla arms that drag his knuckles on the ground. He just didn’t have any wind and bum wheels to go with it. Waiting on that Curry “injury” so Randolph Morris can get in there and go SummerLeague on they azz. Chicago’s improvement wasn’t just about new coaching, it was about giving more time to the kids who had game and were hungry. Joakim Noah is flourishing and routinely makes plays that Ben Wallace should’ve been making. Hopefully, Chandler gets some burn in front of his hometown fans and Balkman emerges from the doghouse ready to form Voltron.
By Jay Bee on Jan 8, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Explain this to me:
Our starting five:
Marbury & Q leave Phoenix and now Phoenix is better.
Crawford and Curry leave Chicago and Chicago got better.
Zach leaves Portand and Portland gets better.
WHY?
Maybe we should trade em’ back

Shaquanda brings a mixed bag, y’all….i’m not posting facts, i was just intrigued by the lead-in and took five minutes out to google…
1) No question that Judge Superville deserves some closer attention - is he fit to serve the great citizens of Texas?
http://donklephant.com/2007/03/26/update-on-the-shaquanda-cotton-case/
2) Shaquanda’s half-brother is a brutal murderer who is appealing his two death sentences claiming racial bias
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/paris-tx/TV7U4SN39DIM4UQBB
3) Shaquanda has allegedly physically assaulted her mother (a New Black Panther party activist) since her release
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaquanda_Cotton
4) Paris, TX has some ugly racial hate crimes in its history
i’m not drawing any conclusions yet, i just thought before heads got too heated that the story should be fleshed out a bit. Her half-brother has a different mother, not Creola Cotton. Not that him being a murderer bears any relevance to her own sitchu, given the age & geographical difference, but there is some interesting material there in the two different cries of racial bias in the court system, in how they differ and what reactions they provoke from Americans of every color. Is there a difference between the alleged bias against him and the bias against her? Thought-provoking stuff….
By PaulNoize on Jan 8, 2008 at 5:16 pm
DLT - The answer to your question is psychological. Zeke’s gambit was to take guys who had potential and get them to buy into a team first prove everybody wrong culture. The Bad Boys were good because they were hated and learned how to feed from that. Well he’s succeeded. The Knicks are hated and nobody does want the players out loud. Teams would love to get their hands on some of these guys but want to do it at bargain basement prices.
No time to finish this right now. We’ve got a tornado watch here in TN and I’m cutting outta here to get home. See you guys at game time. (Maybe)

We have the horses for that type of game!
By Peaceman on Jan 8, 2008 at 9:41 pm
That move by Crawford was nasty. He needs to develop that killer instinct some more: see a victim, and destroy him. Every night. And if the jumper is off, he should be using that crossover. None of Chicago’s guards can stop him.
By HarleminMD on Jan 8, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Our offense is keeping us in the game so far.
Chi’s outrebounding us 31-20. Offensive rebounds are 14 - 5 Chi.
Chi’s taken 54 shots to the Knicks 39…but the Knicks are shooting 51.3% to Chi’s 42.6%.
Knicks outassisting the competition 12 - 8.
Both teams are keeping their turnovers in check…Knicks 5 - Chi 3.
Bulls 3 - 12 from the 3 pt stripe…
knicks 4 - 9 for 3…
Knicks hot-shooting is keeping this game close.
ZBo has been in foul trouble form the get. Curry’s been a bitch…but he’s scoring at will when he gets into good (very deep) position or when he’s found in transition. Both times they found in the mid-post, he spun into the defense who tried to strip him…and he seems not to notice because he still attempts a shot…
twice.
when does he learn?
when you put a gun to his face and threaten his family perhaps?
then he understand what he needs to change. Knucklehead.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Stop that and fast break them to death in the 2nd half!
Jones, Chandler and Balkman thrive in that tempo!

Curry blocks a Ty Thomas two handed dunk…Joe Smith throws down Curry in the paint but the Ben Wallace shot counts…65 - 57 Chi 8 and a hlaf minutes left.
Zach throws up an outside shot that misses.
Joe Smith answers with another jumper. Bulls 67.
This game got out of hand in a hurry.
perhaps, the Knicks were prepared for one half of basketball.
the first one.

Thank God Q is out!!!!!!
By Peaceman on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:02 pm
2 blocks for Curry tonight.
See how stats don’t tell the whole story.
On the other hand, JJeff’s boxscore is empty but his presence has been undeniable.
How good can this team be when their starters are so inconsistent?
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:02 pm
jeffries is a true knick team player and i like him on this team.
By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Q needs to get his money back for that shape up. Took too much ’round the ‘burns.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:03 pm

By knicksdefense on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:03 pm

We need someone to get ultra hot again.
God knows we’re not playing well enough to win. The only thing left is OFFENSE
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:07 pm
I think Randolph is trying to play the team game when he is on the court.
By Black and Blue on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Zeke called the Knicks over to talk during the injury TO to Duhon….
Only one Knick walked over….Crawford…
Pathetic.
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:07 pm
between David Lee and Jefferies taking it to the Basket I’d prefer Lee.
By Black and Blue on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:08 pm
What’ll probably go in the books as a TO for Nate should’nt be….Curry should stepped to the ball.
Henrich did.
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Knicks cut the lead to 6 after Nate knocks down some shots, finds Dlee for a two handed slam and Ty Thomas goaltends another shot. DLee keeps the ball moving and finds Curry for a bang.
Nate turns the ball over for the first time after Curry fails to keep his body on Wallace.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Terrible call against Jefferies!
By Black and Blue on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:17 pm
To his credit, the Knicks seem to have more direction with Curry on the floor. But in the second quarter, without either of big 2 on the floor, the Knicks took the lead.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Glad to see Craw get upset about getting beat off the dribble..
We need more of that.
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:18 pm
80 74 Chi with 1 and a half left in the third
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:19 pm
I don’t get the MSG feed for this game, so I have to listen the the Bulls’ “homers”….
They’ve been saying all night the Knicks are a much better running team.
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Hinrich hits a fader with nothing on the shot clock…bulls 82.

By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Nate is great with a feed to Curry in the paint
Duhon answers by blowing past Craw for the andone. Duhon misses the freebie but the Knicks turn it over in transition.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Bulls up 10 after 3.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Curry’s got 3 blocks.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:23 pm
No I don’t, BARF….
Wish I did. Hate listening to the other teams’ announcers.
No doubt about who’s writing their checks..
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:25 pm
Knicks’ guards needed to stay hot in the second half but so far have come out flat.
Zach is a non factor tonight. Wallace and the refs have kept him quiet. Curry’s been okay. He’s had a quiet, big stat game.
The only chance we have to win tonight is if JCraw and/or Marbury get hot.
Nate’s been great. DLee and JJeff have been solid.
By BARF on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:26 pm
Craw opens the fourth with a shot off the curl
Gray hits a 12 footer to answer. Bulls 90

They showed Eddy’s family in attendance tonight…
I guess he has to play in front of his family to play tough basketball.
Probably wants to make his Pop’s proud.
By bronxboy in Md on Jan 8, 2008 at 10:32 pm
