Knicks@Bobcats

by knicksdefense on December 21, 2007

Tonight Isiah Thomas’ New York Knicks visit Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Bobcats. No love lost between the two hall-of-famers, each GM is hoping to kick the other GM’s teeth in via the teams on the court.

Charlotte has improved their roster by adding Jason Richardson via summer trade, and also by drafting Jared Dudley and recently acquiring former knick center Nazr Mohammad. After pulling the trigger on some of these moves, Michael Jordan was quoted as saying he wanted to “make the playoffs now.” The Bobcats main options remain Gerald Wallace (all the makings of a knick killer), Ray Felton and Emeka Okafor. The guy Scott Layden cut, Matt Carroll, is still a threat from downtown, so watch him on the perimeter. The Knicks still remember the block party Emeka literally threw this past January, a career high of 10 blocks and they were all impressive (I was at that game and had to call my girl at halftime to get an update on how many blocks that kid had, I think it was six). Okafor and Yao were the only two guys who seemed to have Curry’s number last year in my eyes (what a difference a season makes). Yes, I meant to exclude Dwight Howard from that statement.

Great opportunity for the Knicks to pick up a road win tonight. More info on tonight’s game here.

Kevin,

Regardless of the press releases, Curry’s body said that he did not work out. He did not come to Vegas because of
a previous committment. Lee was still favoring his leg early in the season, and Q, looks out of shape.
I am not making excuses for these guys, because when I see what young Bynum in LA is doing (early workouts, yoga),
and see how guys other guys are serious, I put it on the players. Isiah is responsible for bringing
these guys in so I blame him.

Kevin I also believe that Isiah’s biggest mistake is getting guys who do not know how to win. Crawford & Curry
long playoff absences. Q, played 1-year w/ Suns or he would have the longest streak. Winners breed winning.

Peace & Blessings

qrich, zbo and curry….missing.

12 Kevin Harewood December 21, 2007 at 9:11 pm

Barf,

Here is a parallel. Chicago sucked for a long time after they blew up the team. They had coaches Cartwright and Floyed blew them out. Then they got Scott Skile who came in with my way or the highway. They made the playoffs Deng Nocioni , Gordon and Duhon’s rookie year playing with a crazy tight defensive scheme and bombs away from the outside. They got an original core that was Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Nocioni,Duhon with Curry and Chandler. They got rid of Curry so players knew Skiles meant business. Tye have made playoffs three years in a row including last years sweep of Miami. Yes they struggle now but at least they got a change to dance. Slight tweaking they can get back in thick of it.

We might need a no bullshit guy for a second who doesn’t have the ego Brown had. Brown was no bullshit but he thought he weas bigger than the game, Bigger than the Garden.

Hey, I understand. Nate is tired. Free throws are hardest when a player is tired. Damn.

BAD PLAYERS EQUATE TO A BAD TEAM, PERIOD. BRING BACK STANLEY BLOCK, LITERALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KH, Chicago built from the ground up. The Knicks didn’t/couldn’t do that. Our roster reflects the rebuilding situation Isiah were forced into. The Bulls and the Knicks have no parallels. I see your point about the tough guy coach…and its a solid theory…but this is NY.

Riley was tough. Van Gundy was tough. It wasn’t enough here.

Time. That’s all I’m saying. Eventually, NYC has to be patient.

23 Peaceman December 21, 2007 at 9:18 pm

FUCK LEE!

32 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York December 21, 2007 at 9:23 pm

33 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:24 pm

34 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York December 21, 2007 at 9:24 pm

39 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York December 21, 2007 at 9:26 pm

40 Peaceman December 21, 2007 at 9:27 pm

WTF! HO THE HELL DOES Q THINK HE IS? BIG LIPPED FAT MOTHERFUCKER!
HE SUCKS! Q= Question Mark! Fucking trade him too! For anybody!

41 STATESMAN December 21, 2007 at 9:27 pm

Vic,
That’s a good one. How about going to Brooklyn and getting James’Fly’Williams.
He would put up shots that’s for sure.

Malik is due for a good game, right after the 40th game.

@Lives

Team has to become more athletic up front. Balk is only hope. We don’t need 5 offensive guys, we need a few complementary guys
starting.

Peace & Blessings

HaHaHa

43 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:27 pm

3rd Qtr. Knicks 22 – Bobcats 18
4th Qtr. Knicks 27 – Bobcats 18, with 27 secs to go.

44 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:28 pm

That’s without Zach!

45 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:28 pm

Without Eddy!!

46 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:28 pm

Without Steph!

47 Jay Bee December 21, 2007 at 9:29 pm

Without Q.

48 BARF December 21, 2007 at 9:29 pm

I’d rather die with Lee taking good shots and missing or getting blocked than ZBo pulling up for bullshit jumpers and taking bad shots.

QRich is traded for Artest tomorrow.

49 Lives In New Jersey, Loves New York December 21, 2007 at 9:31 pm

Balk can’t play man D. And he is not strong enough to guard the starting PFs. That’s who he would guard because ZBo is not athletic enough to stay on the PFs. Jeffries is better. It’s about feet movement and guarding your man within an arms length. Balk relies too much on his athletism and tries to outguess his opponent. I love his energy, but he is absolutely not ready to start.

50 BARF December 21, 2007 at 9:33 pm

No wonder Brandy left QRich’s bitch ass
