Knicks, Bulls, Heat… Bottom of the Ocean?

A lot of ground to cover boys.  Not saying it is impossible, but the knicks need to start winning on the road and the knicks need to start having winning streaks larger than two, more often than twice. Atlanta and Indiana are surprise teams so far.  57 games to be played, but the urgency is on now.  Please, no more 5 or 8-game losing streaks.

“Defensively, this is one of the worst performances that I’ve ever been a part of,” Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. “And it starts with me.”

That’s not a good defensive effort,” said James, who scored 32 on Wednesday. “I don’t know if it’s the worst we’ve ever played defensively. That’s what Coach thinks.”

That’s the way you disagree with your coach. Then, you go out and take it out on Mambo Sauce and Kobe-ettes.

2 Anti-NYSportsNews December 20, 2007 at 7:44 pm

DLT,

I know what you saying…

But you gotta know that alot of the amosity toward on Isiah Thomas with that whole ABS nonsense was instigated by the NY Media. The NY Media are bias, you best believe that. Bias toward opinions that doesn’t aggre with theirs and perhaps racial in some cases. If racial, though, it’s hard for me to out right accuse, but there are some thing I read in in the New Papers Sports that may suggest that. The NY Post is pro GOP and have prejucial writers and opinions, I see for a fact.

For example, why is that they(some NY Sports Newspapers) alwayd making fun of Al Sharpton, drawing him like a fat slob, in thier papers. Or why have a turkey with Isiah Thomas’ head on the front page?

What’s up with that?

If you think back to the early 1900 hundreds through out, how the MSM portrayed black figures, sports figures or whatever, look how they were dicpicted and drawn. It’s similiar today in someways. I’m not fooled or ignorant.

I’m not saying a Black man like Isiah Thomas is not above reproach and should be dealt with only positive things to say; but the treatment of this man since he bacame GM on the Knicks was always him shown trying to make this Knicks team better, despite the cards he was dealt with in the beginning.

We all Know the Knicks team we see on the floor are not living up to their potential or ability. When the Knicks really come out and play, play hard to win, they can be very fun to watch, but the opposite of that happening dregs up feelings of disgust, and rightfully so. I know you can’t really defend Isiah and his Knicks team he built, but Isiah cannot be totally the one to blame.

The players should be held accountable more with their lazy playing most times than not so far this season. Why is it that these guys get paid millions upon millions of dollars but their attitude in winning is not displaying to WINS like their net worth?

Make no mistake about this—the MSM is out for kill concerning Isiah—since last season, in fact. With the ABS sitiuation they had their ammunition to set things off at onset of this new season. Did so much bad press play and incessant booing playing a part in the Knicks playing, looking bad this season?
Could be.

I know one thing about the Sports MSM, they print what they what to print and ridicule who they want to ridicule.

For example with Roger Clemons steroid contrivery—now the sports MSM is bashing him, rightfully so. But where were thier bashing before the Mitchell report, when it was already strongly suggested and mentioned that Roger Clemons as well as Pettite are/were users of Performance enhancing drugs. Now that the cat is out of the bag with Mitchell report—the sports media come out bashing—but why not before the Mitchell report?

Because the Sports MSM including NY was busy bashing Barry Bonds. Wasn’t Barry Bonds accused of using P.E.D, not a proven accusation as well, before the Mitchell report?
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
If some of you guys here remember, I wrote blog piece last season on THE PERCEIVED RACISM of the NEW YORK SPORTS WRITERS about this very same issue.
I try to get from the archives later to show you guys what I wrote at the time.

@Anti

Hey, I totally agree with you about the MSM.They want to sell newspapers and be the voice that everyone listens to.I still believe IT did not do the things that came out in the ABS trial. However, the statements that he made(that I believe were taken out of context)are things that Joe Public is buying that he is a bad manager of the Knicks and damages what some think of him. Me, I can’t believe he ever wanted to “get with” ABS.And I supported all the players as he bought them in one by one.

Back to basketball:

We are losing,that’s a fact.

My question to you is:

What would you do if you owned the Knicks?

All of the fans want to see the Knicks win including us……and win now….it’s been to long since we won or even made the playoffs.

How would you right this ship,if we continue to lose….and lose big in some games? The players show no pride or desire.

Where would you start,if the payroll is something that most people laugh at?

To pay these prices to these players and get these results is not something we as fans want to see.

Trades,yes,but who?

Most of us would love to see Artest here, but at what price? Lee? Who is our most valuable trade bait and bright young star?I would do that trade. But I know the MSM will jump over the team for bringing in another “bad boy” who many see as a person with questionable character at best for a good clean hard-working talent like Lee.

Who will take Marbury?Curry?

Should we mortgage our future by sending draft picks?

The players ARE responsible!!

But what would you do?

5 Peaceman December 20, 2007 at 8:32 pm

DLT,

How much more can the MSM…jump on this team?
On the LEAPER(LEE) as a trade, I’ve done a 180!
He’s a keeper, and I can see his game improving
enough to play like a Dave Cowens if he has pieces
like Artest around him! As much as it hurts me to
say it, Balkman with another Knicks with a 7+ million
Contract will get us that ” Piece.”

6 Peaceman December 20, 2007 at 8:46 pm

Knicksdefense,

That “bottom of the Ocean” looks like a puddle when you see how
deep the water above us is!

7 D L T Knicks December 20, 2007 at 8:54 pm

@Peaceman

Here is your trade. But do you think Sac will go for it?

8 Anti-NYSN December 20, 2007 at 8:59 pm

DLT,

Those question you asked are out of my understanding, and probably a waste of my mental energies at that.

Going by sports history—when a team is doing bad the coach is the one to go mostly—so Isiah time as GM/Coach is soon be coming to an end if the win they start coming fast and often.

His couching might be kind of suspect at certain times, and may be that (Isiah)doesn’t have the skill and ability to to inspire his team as much as he desires. At the same time these guys shouldn’t be encourage to play hard. They should be playing hard always—no matter who’s coaching.

9 D L T Knicks December 20, 2007 at 9:06 pm

@Anti

Yes,I agree. But why is the answer?

Keep IT and what happens IF the team still loses?

Use that mental energy…we are just bloggin’

no harm,no foul!

10 Anti-NYSN December 20, 2007 at 9:06 pm

DLT,

I take that trade in a minute as a Knicks fan. Not bad for the Kings either. But they probably want David Lee. If I was Isiah I would trade David Lee as a parting gift to these booing fans and NY Sports MSM.

11 Post - up Prince December 20, 2007 at 9:07 pm

DLT:

I noted that trade (Balk and Malik) for Artest two days ago; it definitely
works out via the salary cap. Sacramento knows that neither Balk nor Malik are
sufficienct compensation for Artest, but might want to have the Malik’s salary to
play with at the end of this season for free agent buying purposes.

12 D L T Knicks December 20, 2007 at 9:20 pm

@Anti and Post-up-Prince

It’s a great trade for us.The Rose contract,Sac will like for the cap room.

The problem is Balk,he has not had enough burn to display his talents. He got a DNP-CD last night in a big win for us. We will need to showcase him to get Sac interested.

13 Anti-NYSN December 20, 2007 at 9:22 pm

“Keep IT and what happens IF the team still loses?”

DLT,

I still believe the Knicks can get their act together and and still be a playoff team this year. The way I see it, if they beat all the teams that beat them first, in the future, games starting with Cleavland last night, then they can be alright. Losing inexplicably to Philly the city of brotherly love but hate the Knicks twice threw that original thought out for a moment. But last night game is a good start to get things back on track. My similiar thoughts are like Black and Blue when the stated what it would take for him to turn back into Orange and Blue. (Forgot what post #? he wrote that).

Now losing to like Charlotte like by 20 or 30 pts after that Cleavland beat down would be the kind of lost that gets me to want to fire everyone on the knicks team—including Isiah Thomas. Using what Peaceman wrote earlier, send all them out of here on an ACME “rocket” right to the Moon, one way ticket.

14 Anti-NYSN December 20, 2007 at 9:26 pm

The Knicks did lose to the Suns twice—so forget about that revenge soup. Philly going to get theirs and the Nets lost twice to the Knicks—that and added bonus—but the Knicks need much more wins like yesterday. And they are capable, no doubt. But are they willing?

15 D L T Knicks December 20, 2007 at 9:41 pm

@Anti

Winning will solve all the problems and the MSM will have no more negative to write about.

I hope yesterday was the start of getting this ship on the right course.

The players have to get that “us against the world” attitude, and prove them all wrong.

I did not think we would be 8-17 at this point. There are at least 10 games we should have won.

I hate to turn on the tv and hear all the negative things like “why the Cavs lost to the Knicks” like we have no talent on our team.

We have talent….just need the heart. There I 110% agree with IT.

16 Anti-NYSN December 20, 2007 at 9:48 pm

Inside the locker room down south in one of the “CAROLINA’S” North to the slide ruler needers,
sat a team of maybe the most underrated and most underachiveing cast ever assembeled in this
thing called the NBA. They dressed slowley with caution! What does tonight hold for us?

This is a time of question. A time like no other in any of these young peoples lives!
Just coming off winning a game against the current Eastern Conference Champs, it’s gut check time
for the NY, NY team that has been the target of the Northern style Lynching of the NY tabloid
sheep herding media!

As Crawford puts on his Knicks Orange and Blue….. he points to his teammates and says….look guys!
Everyone in the locker room looks..and nods, without further conversation.
Every Knick dresses in silence and deep in their hearts they Know what Crawford has just said!
What happens on the court in the South….will translate into what Crawford just said!

19 Peaceman December 20, 2007 at 10:49 pm

Davonn.

WTF? The Lakers and KOBE lost to a team we toyed with last night????
Time for you to watch Spiderman movies! lol

20 Syd December 21, 2007 at 3:07 am
21 DaVonn Jefferson December 21, 2007 at 7:18 am

Peaceman….I fell asleep last night right before the Lakers game and I was so mad I missed it.
I just read on ESPN it came down to the last shot that Kobe and his bad groin missed.

Don’t talk like that about the Mamba…we still got to see him in a couple days.

Let’s just hope his groin is still hurt as it was last night.

Just in case you didn’t know…Cleveland lost 9 of their last 11 so they were about due for a W.

Mamba is still #1.
