Sixers take on Knicks at the Garden
December 7, 2007 – 1:00 pm
See the previous post for coupons for tonight’s game.
Steph and Curry have apparently been penciled back into the starting lineup for tonight. There has been some good discussion here lately about who should and should not start, considering the performance of the team against New Jersey. Tonight is another opportunity to see if Isiah can get back to the 8-man rotation that seemed promising early into the season before the eight game loosing streak.
Should the knicks put defensive pressure on point guard Andre Miller, swingman Andre Iguodala and shooter Kyle Korver (who has been struggling from the field this season despite shooting well against the knicks in recent years), they stand a good chance of winning tonight’s contest. The Sixers are flat-out rebuilding in a post-Iverson era of their franchise.

To reiterate a recent post of mine, the sixers gave Boston all they could handle
last game. If the Knicks think this is a cake walk tonight, we will get our ass handed
to us like an early Christmas present! The Knicks must play an A game, because Philly
is a dangerous team that has nothing to lose!

I’d mainly concentrate on AI. Shutting him down would give us the best chance to secure a W.

According to Alan’s blog Steph will play tonite and start. Then he goes on to quote Marbury as saying he doesn’t want to be there and Zeke as saying he doesn’t expect him to be 100% focussed. I don’t get it. The team has said that Marbury could have all the time he wants to grieve. If he doesn’t want to be there and won’t be focussed, why would he play ? I think it would be best for all parties involved if he just took the next 2 games to grieve. What are your thoughts, defenders ????
By John Q on Dec 7, 2007 at 1:56 pm
I sure hope Zeke gives Curry the quick hook if he’s not playing up to par, as well as Marbury.
I also hope he continues to run Craw at the point….Steph is best off the ball, where he can create as well.
Gotta find some decent time for Jones. He’s earned it.
By bronxboy in Md on Dec 7, 2007 at 1:57 pm
I don’t agree with trading Zach!!!
I don’t think Curry will ever play defense.
If a good deal comes up for Curry, like the one mentioned above with him and Steph to Miami for Shaq…..I say we jump on it.
Why would we trade Zach?
What Curry doesn’t have…..he will never have.
He’s an offensive big man that’s out of shape most of the time.
Amare is an offensive minded big man that’s always in shape.
I’m not saying Curry needs to get to Amares size…but don’t sit here and tell me Curry can’t lose
another 30 pounds or so.
By DaVonn Jefferson on Dec 7, 2007 at 2:01 pm
peace,
considering the knicks have been at the bottom of the atlantic not quite as long as the titanic, every game should be played with utmost urgency. even if tonight’s game in theory should be easier than beating boston in boston, the knicks need to develop a killer instinct instead of trying to play from behind, as has been the case this season and last’s. how about building an early lead and keeping that lead? you’d think it is much easier to play that way, as we saw against Jersey on Wednesday.
i’ll be watching dalambert since some of the defenders think he would benefit the knicks with his shot-blocking ability.
anyone want to guess as to when chandler ever sees the light of day again? best shot-blocker on the knicks and he’s not playing 1 minute even in garbage time.
By knicksdefense on Dec 7, 2007 at 2:04 pm
I just hope Craw starts the point. He seems to be better at feeding the bigs than Marb. Plus is will help Craw get loose. We will probably see a lot more of jefferies depending on how Igoudala plays.
Knicks will come home with a win

KNICKS ARE FORBES’ MOST VALUABLE FRANCHISE
By PETER LAURIA
December 7, 2007 — If you just put aside their losing ways, the New York Knicks have a lot in common with their baseball brethren in the Bronx, the Yankees, according to Forbes’ annual ranking of the NBA’s most valuable franchises.
The Knicks, like the Bronx Bombers in baseball, are the most valuable franchise in their league. Yet, despite generating the most revenue, they still posted an operating income loss for the 2006-2007 season.
Valued at $608 million, the Knicks are the first NBA franchise to crack the $600 million mark, according to Forbes. The Yankees were the first team to crack the $1 billion valuation mark when Forbes released its rankings for baseball earlier in the year.
The Knicks - whose fans have grown frustrated with owner and Cablevision CEO James Dolan for failing to make the playoffs in three consecutive seasons, sexual harassment lawsuits and other off-the-court embarrassments - nevertheless generated a league-high $196 million in revenue last year.
But, with a league-high $166 million payroll, an $18.5 million severance payment to former coach Larry Brown and a $45 million luxury tax, the Knicks actually lost $42.2 million last season. That loss is the third-biggest ever for an NBA franchise in a single season, with only the Portland Trail Blazers teams of the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 season faring worse.
“The Knicks’ spending was particularly out of control last year, but profitability should improve this year,” said Forbes Associate Editor Kurt Badenhausen.
As has been the case for the past few years, the Los Angeles Lakers ranked as the second most valuable franchise in the NBA. A full list of the rankings can be found at Forbes.com. The Kobe Bryant-led squad generated revenue of $170 million and $31.8 million in operating income last year and carries an estimated worth of $560 million.
Due in large part to the star power of LeBron James and a $25 million-a-year cable deal with Fox Sports Net. Ohio’s Cleveland Cavaliers scored the biggest gain of any team in the league, jumping three spots to No. 7 on the list from No. 10. The Cavs increased their worth by a whopping 20 percent to $455 million on the back of its young star, whose ability to attract fans helped the team to produce $152 million in revenue and $31.9 million in profit.
Rounding out the top 10 were the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.
The New Jersey Nets, who are due to move to Brooklyn in 2009, came in at No. 17 with an estimated value of $338 million.

JohnQ,
About Curry’s desire to play defense. I think he can. In the home game against Denver he played defense for one quarter. He also played some defense against Utah. I think the problem lies in his conditioning. In the match against Denver, he sat for most of the 3rd Q, came back refreshed and played defense. So it can be done. He needs to be whipped into shape. There is a lot of work to be done on Eddy, but he showed last year that he can develop his game and then I don’t know what happened to him this year, he seemed to have put on some weight around the time he got injured.
On the trade for Shaq, it will be like exchanging a new E-Class (with manual transmission) for a 1979 E-Class simply because you don’t know how to drive stick. Shaq doesn’t have the energy to run up and down the court in a speed offense. The refs are calling him for a lot of offensive fouls these days due to his speed and changes in some of the rules. Miami will gladly give him up. Plus a Curry, Wade, Davis offense will be a monster in the East. IT don’t do it.
By Jazz on Dec 7, 2007 at 2:38 pm
I agree with DVJ’s take….
How long has Curry been in the league now?
My point exactly!!
Aguirre stated that Curry was more active this offseason than any other…..I believe Q stated the same….and he comes to camp looking worse than he did when he first got to the Knicks and hadn’t been working out at all due to a bad heart.
You gotta wonder how much the kid wants it…I don’t think he wants it enough.
Trade Zach and keep Curry?
That’s foolery.
By bronxboy in Md on Dec 7, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Bronx,
You do not trade Curry or Zach. You start hitting shots and everything else changes. The Knicks have
3(4,w/ Q), that can’t hit a 15 ft. jumper, (DLee, JJeff, Balk). What has made caused D. Howard to
flourish this year has not been Pat Ewing. Howard has the same mechanical low-post moves that he had last year.
He still cannot pass out of a double team. The difference has been Rashard Lewis, & Turgolou. If either of
the guy guarding either of the forwards they will either hit a jumper or a 3pter. This eliminates double-teams
and spreads the floor, which allows Howard to go one on one. Want a difference a year makes. We have seen
the Results. Can you imagine Eddy being guarded one on one? Neither can the league. Curry would also post better rebounding numbers, because he hits the offensive boards well w/ only one man guarding him. The defense is bad,
but in todays NBA who plays D?
African. How were the Nails for breakfast? You came out going 3 for 1. Mak, Charley, & JohnQ, on 1 post.
The Knicks don’t need another defensive guy, w/ have too many now. The knicks need to hit shots and mopve
their feet on defense.

To continue the Curry conversation from the previous post.
Name other centers (OTP’s) in the league you would honestly say are better than Curry, faults and all. I’ll start it off:
East - DHoward, RWallace
West - Stoudamire, Ming, Cambyman (don’t say that 3 times or he’ll come through your mirror and block your shot)
Maybe I’m leaving somebody off here, but that’s the way I see it right now. I don’t see that many bigs shining these days. If I’m right and we’re talking about a top 6-9 center in the league, isn’t it worth developing him? What do you think?
By Jay Bee on Dec 7, 2007 at 3:10 pm
one thing about isiah, he always raves about the newest aquisition in lieu of the other players. first he glowed about steph when he arrived, last year it was curry and I no longer heard anything about steph, now its all about zach and curry isn’t being mentioned much at all.
just bloggin’, but I’d like to see what happens if q slides to the two, jamal to the one and chandler to the three with zbo and curry still in the lineup. last year I was obsessed with balkman and he impressed, this year I want to see what chandler can do besides the summer league and a few preseason games. he’s taller than q, better hops, probably shooting better than him to if you look at his 30% field goal percentage lately. i know q is a vet with a competitive spirit but if he continues to slump shooting the ball i’m all for chandler stepping in because Balk and Jeffries have not improved their shooting abilities as of yet.
By knicksdefense on Dec 7, 2007 at 3:11 pm
John Q,
Maybe you are watching a different league, but due to rule changes in Stern’s NBA, noone is allowed to play D.
Howard hit Amare for over 40 last week, Amare hit Jermaine O’neal for 40. I stand by noone plays D.
Maybe selling Snake Oil has made it hard for you to differentiate Bullshit from REALITY.

This is a tighter battle but I would add Bogut and Okafor to the list of centers better than Eddy. If Eddy averaged like 30 a game I would say he needs to stay, but he doesn’t score THAT much to make for his atrocious defense.
Bogut and Okafor rebound and play solid defense. Knicks need defense over scoring.
And at Tyson Chandler to the list. He gets a retarded amount of blocks, and boards per game. I would say Eddy Curry remains a poor center in the East…
By PC on Dec 7, 2007 at 3:33 pm
Blogzilla:
I too would like to see more of Chandler. Why is Zeke holding him back? Is he showing little in practice is Isiah showcasing Q and Balk in order to trade one of
them? As showcase pieces, both Q and Taz have shown little thus far. Q has been
especially disappointing on offense, though he has helped with defensive rebounding.
Q’s elbow has bothered him most of the season, but he seems to be on the verge of healing and hopefully we’ll see a breakout game of 15-20+ points, which he would post
with some consistently last season. Then again, Knick offense has featured both Zach
and Curry as well as J. Craw. Q has been an afterthought.
I agree with Peaceman that Philadelphia should not be taken lightly, especially in tomorrow night’s back-to-back in Philadelphia. Igodala is the key concern in playing
Sixers and must be kept in check. LGK

I’m not blind bro. I don’t think we are talking about 90’s ball. Stern has implemented rules to benefit teams like Phoenix. I understand that.
San Antonio won their championships by playing D, same goes for Miami and Detroit. This is what we should aspire to be. How many run and gun teams have a title to show for it even in Stern’s new watered down NBA ?
I’ll be in your neighborhood tonight to drop off that case of snake oil you ordered. It’ll have to be at around 7 so I can make it to the hood to watch the game at African’s. Is that a good time for you ????

Re: #1 - Peaceman I’m with you on the Sixers. They may be losing but they always play hard for Mo Cheeks who will probably be canned for CWB. We lose when we don’t play hard. You rarely see the Knicks lose when they bring it. So the key is effort. Dalembert tries to block shots so he’ll be sitting by second quarter. We’ve got to attack the middle. That’s where they’re weakest. We need dunks tonight. Aggression and anger. We should have that chip on our shoulder and dare somebody to knock it off.
Free Wilson Chandler.

you guys bring up a good point. Stern absolutely changes the rule every couple of years to the benefit of the corporately sponsored players. Look no further than shaq, once his prime ended, defensive rules were altered, like you said to help teams like phoenix, and shaq loudly protested when those changes were implemented.
The best thing for Eddy Curry would have been if Oden would have had a monster year this year, then stern would have been inclined to make more changes, but of course Oden is out for the season and who knows how good he’ll be when he comes back.
this is the power forward’s time in the league. Dirk, Duncan, KG, Okafor, Amare, Howard, all of those guys are flourishing, occasionally called centers by the media but in reality they’d be the first to tell you they’re forwards.
Shaq sucks right about now.

I beg to differ on that statement on not needing a defensive player.
We need a shotblocker. A player that can guard the rim.

Maybe my eyes are fooling me, with that free welfare glasses, but I see the entire defensive intensity being amped up a notch with a shotblocker on the team.

John Q,
Most of the rule changes were implemented after Detroit won the trophy. Miami won due in part to the number
of free throws D. Wade was alowed to shoot, due to the new point of emphasis, not because of Defense.
Althought it did not hurt to have Shaq, and Zo covering. Cleveland was challenge offensively,
it had nothing to do w/ great D. San Antonio is a decent defensive team. Your examples on the
surface seem legit, but when you take a closer look they’re specious at best, similar to SNAKE OIL.

Knicks’ Marbury attends shootaround day after father’s funeral I don’t fault Stephon for wanting to jump right back into the fire…. and why not? Sitting around watching the team gel without him will not do much for his basketball ego. After seeing that last game against the Nets, how well team executed their game and keeping the Nets at bay; He absolutely wants to be apart of the teams new found confidence. We can only win as a team, unselfish play, passing the ball around and finally making our shots, no matter who it is we are playing. There is probably a new bonding of teammates, they will focus now on ‘wins’ cause there will be no better feeling for them all collectively.
By Syd on Dec 7, 2007 at 4:18 pm

Defense is more then blocking shots. Defense also is more then 1 person. At best in today’s NBA you can get good position and stop penetration dribble. Shot blocking is not a must, it is a luxury. The Knicks as a team need to become better defensive players. Sorry, but “Fantasy GM”,bores the sh%t out of me. That was me on the last thread with the Marbury/Curry post for Shaq and 1rst rounders!
I believe Shaq has enough reserve for two more titles in the right place!
Crawford, Jones, Lee, Zach and Shaq would equal the shiny stuff! We would still be young
and Shaq can groom Morris. We will still have Balkman, Nate, Jeffries and Chandler and Q on the bench!
We could also find a point guard and big man in the draft. If it’s true that Shaq had to be restrained
by Zo to save Riley, Shaq would come to the Mecca! He would be revitilized, and we would only need him
in limited doses for 2-3 years and he would only be 38 and may play a limited role even longer!
It’s just a senario. I wouldn’t be upset if it happened!

While I agree with you that D is usually more than one person, my point is that with a good shot blocker, the whole team would/should feed off it.
We do need to become better defensively, but we’ve been saying the same thing last year!
We NEED a defender of the paint/rim. We don’t need a scoring big.
Defense is over rated until you get to the playoffs and find yourself in a gring it out game.

African,
What you and the other “Fantasy GMs” miss is that shot-blockers are not falling off trees. The Knicks
can’t trade the Scholar & N8 for Tysoon Chandler. IMHO the team is set. Zeke has to RISE or FALL w/
the CHIPS he has. Dolan is not going to take on new contracts, new players, etc. until the season
is over and Zeke is either staying or going. In this make or break year, the Knicks have to win w/ the
horses in their stable. Zeke has to “coach’m up”. If the shots start to fall, then the winning will start.
Eddy is not the problem. Look at the box scores and if the Knicks shot 50% in some of the losses they would have more wins. Calvin Murphy we need you. At this point I would settle for Muggsy Bogus.
Something else that I noticed w/ the team. Eddy, Dlee, Balk, the young guys did not recognize that each summer that you have to get better. If you come in as the same player as the year before, then you have regressed, because the league will study your game and adjust to stopping your strengths. You need to add a little extra each year. These guys must have been reading the FIXERS/DEFENDERS scouting reports that had 3 allstars on the team, and 2 future stars.
Peace & Blessings

Stop smoking it.
Shaq is better than Curry, now? Nah. Shaq is fat.
Not phat. Fat.
States:
Balance is what the shot blocker theme is all about. I brought up the uptempo shot blocker need because it would provide balance to the roster. It doesn’t have to be a Tyson Chandler or Ben Wallace. It could be a Stromile Swift or Sean Williams. A specialist off the bench would satisfy the need. If some people take it as an invitation to dream a grand dream and propose wild trades that have no chance to happen, so be it. But regardless of whether it happens this year via trade or next year via draft, there’s a roster spot for a legit uptempo-shot-blocker. Because of balance. Not because I want to get rid of Curry. I don’t think he’s the problem this year. There’s a lot of new things that need time to implement correctly.
And as someone else has already mentioned, two wins over Philly this weekend and we’re very close to .500, which I can’t wait to see.
Rasheed
Bogut
Kaman

Sorry.
And Okafor has been playing out of position his whole career which explains why his teams suck. Okafor is a lot like Elton Brand except that he doesn’t play alongside a big doofy stringy-haired 7 foot surfer-looking Opie.

I just spent a little time over on Gilbert Arenas’ blog site, http://my.nba.com/forum.jspa?forumID=400032200 , copy and paste it in your address bar if it doesn’t hyperlink. He shows some love to WaltClyde in this quote:
“Why I’ve been thinking about the Ravens game is because I’ve been reading this book called The Game Within the Game by Walt Frazier and I have a lot of respect for him now. I did already because he’s a pioneer and all, but now I have a lot, lot more. Like, he’s one of my favorites now. He never got a technical in his whole career. That is amazing. That is amazing. As much as this game is an up-and-down emotional game, he’s never lost his cool. That’s what reminded me of it when I was watching that football game. If he would have read Walt Frazier’s book, maybe he wouldn’t have thrown that flag.
There are a couple of other interesting nuggets, so I’ma play spy and see if he dishes any usable goodies on his team.

27-26 Knicks after JCraw hits a 2 in Louis William’s mugpiece.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:33 pm
End of the first quarter.
JCraw, ZBo and QRich have played the whole quarter.
Steph and Curry were replaced by DLee and FJones. With JCraw at the point, FJones at the SG, QRich at the 3 and LEE and ZBo at the big positions the roles are more obviously defined.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:35 pm
No turnovers after one quarter
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:36 pm
I think I’m having a baby.
Curry looks great.
Offensive rebounds…a big block…post points…man, I’m loving it
close game though. This Sixer team is def in the game.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:41 pm
Marbury drivin’ after the Curry block (you heard right). Marbury scores two points for the team and the MSM are rollin’ in their graves.

Gus is bringing the verbage tonight. Refreshing. Sup Defenders!!!!
By Vic Corbit on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:43 pm
The one thing that is missing is guard penetration.
No free throws for any of our guards or forwards.
Curry’s 1-4 from the free throw line, 9 pts in 9 minutes, 4 rebounds, 1 block 8 minutes left in the 2nd.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:43 pm
Second fould on Curry but I’ll take that.
By Jay Bee on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Curry and Lee look like the better duo tonight. ZBo had a few good shots in the post and some good passes (2 assists) but Curry and Lee look better so far
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Evans is killing us on the boards.
By Vic Corbit on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:48 pm
I can get used to JCraw at the point and FJones at the SG.
FJones to the bucket with a left handed layup after a JCraw assist. 40-34

Freddieeeeeee!!!!! Get loose baby!

Iguodala hits an and1 on the break after Balk lost an offensive rebound. JCraw tried to foul him and keep his arms down but Ig is too strong for him.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:49 pm
A very sloppy 2nd quarter. We should be up by 12 instead of 2.
By Vic Corbit on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:49 pm
There is about 5 minutes left in the second quarter and this second quarter has been all defense. And…it’s so much more fun to watch.
Dalembert has erased a bunch of easy buckets for the Knicks. Knicks need a shotblocker real bad.
Also, I love having Fred Jones on the floor. And it seems when Jamal runs a lot of the point, we have had less turnovers.
I love defense! Let’s get some!
By PC on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:49 pm
Post # 70 said it was a sloppy second quarter. Ha, this is great. The knicks team has destroyed defense so bad nobody even recognizes it. The second quarter was two teams defending!!!!!!!! Recognize

Randolph should start dunking more. He misses chippies all the time because he’s addicted to his smooth touch. DUNK IT
By PC on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:52 pm
They’re gritty Vic. This isn’t a rollover type team. We will have to beat them for the win. They won’t give it away.
If you don’t think so, stop reading the NY blogs and start reading more articles. Cuz after reading the city’s blogs you’d think all these teams are sh!t and we have a shot against anyone.
Truth is, this Sixer team is loaded with talent and their coach is good but they need one or two more vet guys.
They’re starting to push the pace more on us. We have to go back down into the paint and dictate the pace. They’re doubling Curry hard.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:52 pm
Philly is an undisciplined team. They thrive on chaos. Knicks need to settle down and punish these guys.
By Vic Corbit on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:54 pm

By Jay Bee on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Jason Smith hasn’t come out of the game. He’s giving DLee and ZBo problems.
With Dalembert blocking shots and Green hot, the Sixers might take the lead before the half. Dang!
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:56 pm
ZBo’s off.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:57 pm
Nice. We’re going back into the paint.
If they want to have a chance at the end of the game they have to keep attacking the basket. Phuck Dalembert. He can’t block everybody
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 7:59 pm
ZBo’s scared of getting his shot blocked next to the rim and blows another easy layup because he’s rushed.
They have to take him out.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:00 pm
53 - 49 Sixers at the half.
Keys to the 2nd half:
-Re-establish Curry in the paint.
-Use ZBo to feed the post because defensively he’s having problems
-Attack the basket and try to get to the line to give the bigs a break
And last but not least..try to play some D.
It feels like we haven’t stopped them in too long.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:04 pm
Another team getting 50 by the half. We have to increase the defensive intensity.

By STATESMAN on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:24 pm

You still think he’s gonna wake up one day possessed by the spirit of Wilt Chamberlain or something.
He’s doing okay. Challenging shots too

Curry and ZBo had problems with someone be it Dalembert or Evans.
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:26 pm
@ Barf…
I think most folks have set the bar pretty low for Curry….if he blocks an occasional shot, grabs a rebound or two, or does anything out of the ordinary (for him) we think he’s doin’ “ok”…..
More needs to be demanded of Curry…..not just the occasional stuff someone with his talent should be doing anyway.
He can start by getting in shape. I need to get a bigger TV just to see all of him.
By bronxboy in Md on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:28 pm
after those 2 drives by FJones for back to back turnovers, I missed Steph.
ZBo looked slow and out of it, so he was pulled
Curry leveled Evans after a post battle for position and he was pulled.
Now we have a small lineup and are making some noise
By BARF on Dec 7, 2007 at 8:28 pm
If they would just take their time on their moves and keep their bodies between ball and defender, it would be easier. Plus, the guards are making them mad because they are taking too long to get them the ball, forcing them to exert more energy on the blocks. Hard to hold off a defender for 15 seconds waiting for the guard to pass.
Ball movement still is good.

It’s obvious who should be on the trading block and who shouldn’t.
Steph and Curry must go!!!
Let’s see what happens tonight.
By DaVonn Jefferson on Dec 8, 2007 at 4:33 pm
“As everybody saw…without Steph we were able to beat the Nets in Jersey.”
without Jason Kidd that team is nothing.
Stephon played 13 minutes total. Can’t blame it on him, he sat at the half and the knicks were still in striking distance but failed to get the win. ZBo couldn’t buy a shot, Curry, well, let’s see what Curry does tonight, he’s pissed off about Dalembert talking sh*t, so he should give 110% tonight. he should give 110% every night, but how many players currently employed by the new york knicks give 110% every night? only isiah thomas knows the answer to that question and many more.

If Curry possesses any intestinal fortitude, it’ll be on display tonight.
Cause like you said, considering all Steph has been through here lately, you can’t pin last night on him, although Isiah should’ve made an “executive decision” and not played him at all last night.
He shouldn’t play tonight, either.

If Crawford is starting, your team is losing. The record does not lie. A 3rd guard at best. Never plays

Zeke has to take Craw out of the starting 5.

The new GM will trade some of the players we have now mainly for draft picks this year and just take it from there.
We already have Zach to build around in the post.
That’s the way to go guys.
It may sound mean but that’s honestly the way I feel.
I don’t think Isiah can coach….I do think he can draft his ass off but he just can’t coach or he has the wrong players.

No doubt the Knicks have players. I just question the mix on the floor. The starting 5, was down 11,
subs were made, and the Knicks up 1. Starting 5, back in game and deficit is 12. The guys as a
group will not get back on D. Poor shooting, need to STRESS get the ball inside. Everyone has the

Zeke has brought just shit$y basketball players to the Knicks. How can your startegy as a GM be to trade for guys that have never even sniffed wins. Meaning that they put up numbers but they suck and nobody wants to play with them
ESPN the mag did a thing on Brandon Roy and in the article they said that ZBO used to stand in the locker room after the game and just yell out what all his teammates deficiencies were. They mentioned this because Roy eventually called out ZBO and became the leader in the locker room. How does Zeke not know this guy is a disaster. He’s a big guy who shoots 20 footers and is allergic to defense — SIGN HIM UP!

By DaVonn Jefferson on Dec 8, 2007 at 9:16 pm
The problem is quite simple.
Jamal Crawford, has one good game in three.
Eddie Curry had one good game in seven.
And they are supposed to be our franchise players ???
And an even bigger problem is that we can not trade them. No team wants loooooosers.
And the biggest problem of all, there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
