Phoenix Suns come to the Garden tonight to face the New York Knicks

by knicksdefense on December 2, 2007

This is another big game for the Knicks to prove themselves against a top team in Phoenix, who come to the garden from out West with a 12-4 record.

It will be the usual suspects for the Suns with Nash, Amare, Hill, Barbosa, and Marion, guys that either have been all-stars or will be all-stars in the near future.

The Knicks have proved that they can compete against teams at home that have previously blown them out on the road, so I anticipate a closer game than the debacle in Phoenix where Marbury went AWOL in November.  Hopefully the knicks can keep their home winning streak alive tonight and make it four in a row–it all depends on defense, turnovers, ball movement and free-throws.

Curry is out of here…he ain’t got it.
Watch how he gets rattled by the boos.

2 Knicksome December 2, 2007 at 9:06 pm

They should give technicals for flops.

3 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:07 pm

Curry hits a post shot and hits the freebie to make it 105-92 Suns 4:30 left.

Before a Nash three.

“This would’ve been a fine time to put Balk in the game on Grant.”

This is why you shouldn’t be surprised if Isiah isn’t here this upcoming weekend.

6 DNM December 2, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Q has put up a lot of shots tonight

7 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:08 pm

What is Isiah doing?

8 DNM December 2, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Seems only a few minutes ago that this was a one point game.

9 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:09 pm

Lee has no ups!!

I would pull the trigger on the Artest deal now if I was Isiah.

10 DNM December 2, 2007 at 9:11 pm

I don’t think Sac would take Lee now for Artest

11 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:11 pm

How many people think Isiah will survive this game?

12 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:12 pm

I heard Zach discussing cashing his check and asking DLee for his latest recommendations for investment bonds.

Curry was on the bench thinking about next weekend’s family reunion. It’s gonna be barbecue baby.

13 DNM December 2, 2007 at 9:12 pm

They played hard tonight, just the start of the 4th they let Grant Hill look like his Piston days.

14 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:12 pm

Yes they would DNM…

IF they don’t they’ll just lose him.

I’m not saying he is the only answer we need but it’s a BIG start.

15 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:13 pm

LOL….good one BARF

16 DNM December 2, 2007 at 9:13 pm

I don’t want Curry on this team anymore.
Or even Jamal.

17 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:14 pm

I don’t want you on this team either DNM.

Terrible…just terrible.

18 Anti-NYSportsNews December 2, 2007 at 9:14 pm

DVJ,

Calm down, you talking about the Suns here! They are an elite team still.

19 D L T Knicks December 2, 2007 at 9:15 pm

Don’t think Zeke is allowed to make more trades in his situation.

20 Knicksome December 2, 2007 at 9:15 pm

thats it were done

21 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:15 pm

The fact Isiah didn’t play Balkman tonight is very fishy.

Why not?

This is what I mean about his coaching guys.

22 Orange and Blue December 2, 2007 at 9:15 pm

I agree with all who commented that Isiah should have put Taz or perhaps even Jefferies in the game to gaurd hill.

23 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:16 pm

I feel scratching the skin off my arms cuz I still see QRich in the game. It’s officially out of reach, so why not go with another lineup?

Wouldn’t want time to run out on a comeback?

24 bronxboy in Md December 2, 2007 at 9:16 pm

Seems like some of you cats started posting when defeat became obvious….

DaVonn……lol

25 Anti-NYSportsNews December 2, 2007 at 9:17 pm

DNM,

If you any good in ballin’ u take their place. And you have shoot better than Crawford and and score 52pts on Wade.

26 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:17 pm

What happened tonight Anti?

Why didn’t we come out with more energy in the 4th?

I guess you want to let this game just slide right by huh?

Even though us and the Knicks players know Isish is on the hotseat right?

27 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:18 pm

bxboy, word.

Its always like that man. Patterns. Good pick up.

28 Anti-NYSportsNews December 2, 2007 at 9:18 pm

31 D L T Knicks December 2, 2007 at 9:19 pm

32 DaVonn Jefferson December 2, 2007 at 9:20 pm

I was actually posting on the other thread until I realized there was a new one.

I’ve been here all game my friend.

33 D L T Knicks December 2, 2007 at 9:20 pm

……..it still does not equal a win

34 Vic Corbit December 2, 2007 at 9:20 pm

Good effort. Poor start in the 4th killed us.

35 Knicksome December 2, 2007 at 9:21 pm

Cant wait to hear what IT says about this loss

36 D L T Knicks December 2, 2007 at 9:21 pm

Back again Tuesday..

37 BARF December 2, 2007 at 9:21 pm

I’m not mad at the loss. More mad at the management of the 4th quarter.

The team plays well through 3…then what? a 4th quarter collapse?

C’mon.

Good game. Lame finish.

Zeke should get questioned on his sub patterns in the 4th.
Any reason he didn’t switch up the pace after Q looked like he had already run out of gas.
Curry was out of synch throughout the 4th.

Starters, man. There’s a problem in that starting lineup.

And its got to be personal. They have to fix it if they ever want to be a consistent team under pressure. Fix it quick.

38 Anti-NYSportsNews December 2, 2007 at 9:22 pm

DaVonn Jefferson,

As long as the Knicks beat the team they’re suppose too—Suns would’ve been nice…but we are not ready for the Suns and Grant Hill didn’t miss a basket—you can’t blame that on Crawford—he scored the first 9 points in the 4th.

Who guarding Grant anyway—the invisible man? I say get rid of the Invisible Man. He Sucks!!!

39 Orange and Blue December 2, 2007 at 9:23 pm

DVJ is our resident GM and Angel of Death and imitation fat lady and also curtain caller.

He does it in such an amusing manner.

But you heard Walt Clyde point out what I said before,… when things get tense the Knicks cohesion on the offense seems to go south. It becomes a one on one.

Reasons for loss.

Blame Isiah for not switching Balkman over a futile defensive performance by Q on Hill!

Our free throw shooting stunk period!

We spotted them an early lead can’t do that against elite teams, and Suns are elite!

We came apart with our offensive cohesion at the start of a rough 4th quarter!

The part that Zeke is responsible for he must apologize for and acknowledge.

40 Orange and Blue December 2, 2007 at 9:28 pm

I agree with BARF and DVJ and whoever else has pointed it out that Isiah needs to mix up his starting line up and get in a better defensive person at the three.

Hill’s rythm was not in the least bit ofset by Q. That’s happened before with other players.

Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Zeke might be insane.

Also now I wonder if had Marbury not gone down would we have seen Fred Jones get into the game and help change the tide?

41 Clyde Baldo December 2, 2007 at 9:31 pm

Hello, I’m Clyde Baldo, I’ve been fan for the Knicks 33 years and counting. I love this site, and wish you guys the best.

Davonn,

I’ve reading your mess and you making me angry. Very angry. I don’t play that, guy. I’m the Knicks #1 fan—what fan is is you #1,000,001. So just take it easy…take a slow ride. Or you with a bottle of my jerry curl juice.

Hopefully they’re learning what it takes to be competitive night in and night out. Great teams put a lot of emphasis on how they start quarters and end quarters. When the big fellas are in there, they are going to have to be a lot more physical than they have been. As Dolemite used to say, “Put ya weight on ‘em, MAN!!”

The league has become a collective of finesse teams. That’s why the Spurs, Pistons and Heat have been dominant come championship time the last 5 or six years. In your face, constant heat, defense is what we need to see on a consistant basis. Increase the defensive intensity and we will win more games. Flat out.

Eddy needs to be an intimidator. If you come to the hole, it’s at your own risk cause Eddy will take your head off. He needs that kind of reputation. Don’t worry about not getting invited to DWade’s pool party. Knock a few heads, especially the shooter for the other team. There aren’t that many Jordans running around who will hit you for 50 if you knock em down hard. But I am tired of the layups. If I did have the knicks email addresses, I would send a two word email: NO LAYUPS!!!!!

44 Anti-NYSN December 2, 2007 at 9:42 pm

“Eddy needs to be an intimidator.”

jay Bee,

You’re right—Curry should pretend these who go in the hole took his LUNCH MONEY…and make them sorry they did it! Com’on his lunch money—he he gotta go for the kill!!!

45 Steady December 2, 2007 at 9:44 pm

Good that Magic came to town and hopefully can broker the peace between Steph and Zeke. This loss falls on Zeke and I’m sure Magic will tell him about the 4th Q early run when her did not adjust to match their run–like by putting Jones and Balkman in and sitting Q and Curry. That 9-0 run by Hill alone killed the NYK 2nite.

I’m not looking for sheeps or lemmings here but for my fanaticism, I see no value in discussing/fueling the MSM agenda to ruin the life of another Black professional athlete(s) (or coach) or cause MSG to change its policy about the media. They are on this campaign this year where all the MSM are Qd up to talk about the “laughingstock” as if no teams have ever been blown out or had bad starts. These media types are dangerous and bringing their filth to my community seems counterintuitive. But then again, people post what they want and one of the fundamental passes in b-ball is the skip pass.

When the HOF snake ABS was destroying the psyche of the team to get them to play “the right way”, noone ran stories about firing him. There were no “fire the HOF” chants at the Mecca. Instead, the MSM was getting quotes and sound bites to sell their papers. In return, they gave him a pass saying that he always brings a team to its bare essence and then builds up from there. If the HOF ABS got a whole year to prove futility, why would Dolan blow up the process he began years ago and go back to the drawing board again.

Dr. Bronx/BARF/Anti-/Vic, a lot of posters here talk about being a fan, how they bleed O & B, and that their “fanhood” can’t be challenged by anyone, yada, yada, yada. I say BUNK and its in their DNA. The team concept escapes them or if they ever played on a team, worked on a committee, been a part of anything involving others, you could look their way for the weak link. Listen to the players talk to the MSM about their teammates and their coach Knickdefenders. As a fan, I’d rather talk to others like I’m a member of team. The folks who get the benjamins will sort out the rest for me.

I’m out like ankle weights.

It’s not in his DNA….

Very unfortunate the Knicks went on a 8 game losing shriek. Now every lost hurts because of that—forget the Playoffs— the Knicks are fighting to be a 500 team and above.

Nets is a must win.

Nets is very beatable. Very.

For some reason—they always step up their game verses the Knicks.
