Knicks take on Atlantic-leading Celtics tonight
November 29, 2007 – 12:51 am
I took this photo in the second half of the exhibition game up in Boston–the C’s were up by about 25 I’m guessing at that point.
Yet we saw those same Knicks come out and compete against the Celtics a few days later in New York (ask Tom), and the Knicks actually won that game so it is entirely plausible that our team can come up with a win today, especially when you consider how well they’ve been playing the past two games.
Yes Reggie Miller had a few words for the Knicks in the tabloids yesterday, and Charles Barkley and Co. will probably have even more harsh words for Isiah and his Knicks–that much is expected. What will be more interesting for me to watch is how ol’ Kenny Smith speaks up about this team since he’s there for some of the games as a MSG analyst. Will he blast us like the rest or say something complimentary like he did in his recent article on Stephon Marbury? Regardless of who signs his paycheck, does Kenny think of any team as the home team besides the Rockets? It doesn’t really matter what the “talking heads” say on the screen, ultimately the game will be won by the better basketball team–assuming the refs keep their honor, which is no longer a given in this league considering recent events.
Boston is coming off a tough overtime loss to the Cavs–scratch that–Boston is coming off a tough overtime loss to LeBron James, so they’ll be eager to step back into their winning ways when they host the Knicks tonight. One thing is for certain: it isn’t going to be very easy to go into that building and get a win.
>>>
I’m still down in Florida, heading back tomorrow. It has been hard to follow the team and follow the defenders this week, but once I’m back in the NYC, you can bet the updates will be back up to speed. Thanks to all the defenders for holding the fort down and keeping this site poppin’ as always. You know you who are! I hope BARF and some of you guys do the play by play because there is a good chance I’ll be on the road during the game.

Good AM Defenders: Modi asks the question “Is DOc Rivers the best coach in the league?” I think not. The game tonight will be won in the coaches room first and then in ther execution on the floor. I’m betting the Knicks win in Beantown tonight. When we last played DOc & COmpany we won without our full compliment of players. Today we are playing wth everyone in the lineup and everyone healthy. This should be very interesting. We will check in during the day from the EC to keep you informed as we prepare for the big game tonight. It will be a party down here especially because the our heroes are on the tele.
Peace & Blessings…Keep it Poppin…Over and out

Point counter-point when a liar gets caught with their hand in the cookey jar
1. From the article mentioned earlier by BARF “Life in Knicks Hell!” Mike Vaccaro’s spew the following venom!
‘”[]… The Knicks? They inspire something else. They inspire anger. They inspire hatred. … There is an unmitigated loathing for this team, for the men who run the operation. … Knicks fans hate these Knicks. HATE them.”
But in the SI article from Ian Thomsen “Looks Can Be Decieving,” Mr. Thomsen writes the followin about his observation of the Knicks v. Utah Jazz game this past Monday:
“Of course, it helped that the Knicks led for most of the night. Had they been trailing, there might have been some nastiness. But the lead never felt safe, there was plenty to criticize and most of it went unnoticed. In other words, this is no dungeon of torture. If the fans were so upset with Isiah, they would be looking for any reason to boo him.”
What does that point counter-point contrast show me? Basically that some fat slob with the aid of some vision correction contraption firmly in place before his very eyes, is nonetheless so outrageously hell bent with hatred against a team he is suppose to cover that he comes off as so far off of the actual pulse of most average Knick fans. Not only does he get it wrong with his the Knicks are a despised team rant but he shows how little touch he has on the pulse of the city’s team he purports to have a “handle” on.
Is it possible that such incompetence is rewarded with a paycheck?
Heck even that Same “Life in Knicks Hell” article pointed out the following which well shoots Vaccaro’s blind rant in the foot.
“Knicks fans, however, are a resilient bunch. Six of the first seven games this year were sellouts, and in a victory against the first-place Utah Jazz on Nov. 26, they actually stood and cheered at the end.”
Again Ian Thomsen appropriately begs the question. If Thomas and the Knicks are so despised then the “fans” would have had and found plenty of reasons to boo Thomas and the Team. I didn’t hear such booing, although we came close as the lead slipped dangerously close away in teh 4th quarter of that game.

Point Counter-point
2. Simple there is a saying that the Pot should not call the kettle black.
Hmmm how many in the land of ink and paper spilling vitriol all clamoured about Me-burry’s lack of professional for not working within the rules that his boss and or bosses agent- Isiah as GM and Coach– had set out for Me-Burry following the Knick’s loss to the Miami Heat. The new rule being that Marbury must sit for his lackluster play.
Interesting how instead of seeing the MSG media policy as a set of rules that set the parameters in which these media hacks, who dare to call themselves “journalist,” should attempt to creatively explore there craft, these hacks merely cry and whine like the ABSs and cheap ho’s we at Knicksdefense all Know them to be.
Moreover they compound the problem by taking on a totally unprofessional attitude about the challenge and situation they’ve been cast in. For as John Koblin’s “Life in Knikcs Hell” article points out the highly unprofessional Frank Asswhola responds to his challenges in teh following manner.
FI: ‘“You can get stale on the beat,” he continued. “I shouldn’t be doing it anymore after 12 years. If everything was status quo and if everything was great, I probably would be the wrong guy to have on it. But now I’m the right guy to have on it because they’re trying to screw me over, and by trying to screw me over, it kind of lights a fire in you a little bit. It makes you more motivated to find stuff out and expose what’s going on here.”’
JK: I told him it sounded as if he was sticking around out of spite.
FI: ‘“Absolutely,” he said.”
Now theirs an example of unprofessional behavior.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I will endeavor to be worthy of the title “Defender”. As far as reading a specific post as an introduction, I actually read about a week’s worth of posts before I made my first post. So thanks, but I’m on it. I’ve got a manager’s meeting and a financial report that I’ve got to get done beforehand, so I’ve got to cut it short. But I’ll be back before gametime to get back on defense.

Knicks Defenders, I think in Jay Bee is the real deal. Truly, a Knicks Defender(We need to make some more badges).

“As a GM - I’ve asked this before, but no one has even attempted an answer - what team currently above .500, do you think would swap rosters with the Knicks, and why? I say none, but I’m wiling to argue.”
I’ll take you on with your question. Respectfully, of course. I looked at your question and wondered if you looked at the teams that were above .500 before you threw it out there or if you actually researched it first. I can tell that you did look at the teams before you said that because of the 16 teams out of 30 that are over .500, only the Clippers, Bucks and Toronto have not been mentioned as possible championship ready teams. If you have a team that you believe is ready to challenge for a ship you wouldn’t want to trade off with someone rebuilding.
However, I will throw out to you that half of the league is under .500 and that probably 80% of t h o s e teams would gladly trade rosters even if their w-l record is better than the Knicks. Do you really believe in the Pacers? Why does Larry Bird continue to get a pass? He has been in Indy long before Isiah took over the Knicks. What has he done that was so great? Took a team that Isiah built, with DWalsh given, that was playoff ready and completely ran it aground. The players Bird has drafted I wouldn’t trade one of the guys that Isiah has brought in for them. As far as trade mistakes, J & J are comparable to Mike Dumbleavy Jr. and Helen of Troy Murphy. Except James makes 5.8 mil and Jeffries makes 5.6 compared to Dunleavy’s 8.2 mil and Murphy’s 9.2 mil. Bird knocked his team out of the playoffs and put Golden State in with that trade. Every GM makes trades or drafts that are busts. Some get to continue. Danny Ainge before PGA built a team that is now last in the league. Thanks Santa, I mean McHale *wink wink*.
While I am disappointed in the start, I am not disappointed in the coaching. Isiah has correctly identified what this team needs. Defense and moving the ball on offense. He needed to send messages to four people on this team. Crawford, Curry, Richardson and Marbury to play with more effort. By going after Marbury, the supposed teacher’s pet; he sent a message to all of them. Marbury may have felt it was unfair, but the way he handled it was pathetic. If anything, he should’ve taken it like a man and did his best from the bench. Instead, he’s text messaging the media. Be a leader Steph. It’s not too late. Everybody hates the coaches’ son being on the team unless he’s diving for loose balls, defending the best players and hitting clutch jumpers.
Zach is the Dubba Dubba man we thought he was. Insert Denny Green’s voice here and repeat. “He is who we thought he was!” Curry, coming off of a shoulder injury is still better than all the centers in the Eastern Conference except Dwight Howard and maybe Rasheed Wallace and better than every center in the Western except Stoudamire and Yao. The key will be chemistry and the key to chemistry is defense. Play defense and all shall be well.
Balkman is back. I wish he were back healthy, but I’m glad he’s back. When Balkman plays consistent minutes, everybody “hustles harder”.

This is Jay Bee getting on Hahn and his faux-liking Knicks ways:

Looks like, we’ve lost Hahny. Probably gave in to the pressure from his buddies and editors to start slanting his stories. This used to be the one place that resembled journalism. Enjoy fitting in Al. Maybe you’ll start getting some tv gigs like Isola and Vescey. There’s money to be made in attacking the Knicks. Good luck with that.
African,
I’ve been doing covert operations on reading various blog sites on Knicks Fix where “wacky” happens is happening…We should be glad to know that we have a Knicks Defender in Jay Bee, because, Trane is seen to be knocking on him. Read this, here’s Trane responding after reading Jay Bee’s post above:
Posted by Trane | November 27, 2007 12:54
Alan – I know you’re able to recognize the folly in the media conspiracy attacks (like Jay Bee). I’m fascinated by them. Particularly by how threatened they are by any criticism of the Knicks or their management team. And by this naïve notion of a monolithic mass media. None of this is new, by the way. I’ve been reading these same arguments, by many of the same people, for a long time and spread over many different Knicks blogs. And this is precisely what I had in mind a few months ago when I suggested that the exodus over “wacky” was inevitable. I knew you would never be black and white enough for that crowd. That you’d never be enough of a cheerleader . . . who can call every win a good win . . . when we all know every win is not a good win.
Also, the next time I read that the so-called MSM is out of touch with Knicks fans . . . I’ll think of today’s Newsday pole. However unscientific it may be . . . those are staggering numbers. Apparently 83 percent of THOSE Knicks fans think Isiah should be fired. And only 17 percent think he should keep his job. I guess those 83% have been brainwashed by the big bad MSM.
I’ve always tried to argue that these are complicated matters. I’ve written both praise of Isiah, where warranted, and criticism. But, for many, the minute you criticize, you’re a “hater.” At least for people who see the world divided up into guys with white hats and guys with black hats? Would that life was so simple . . .
……………………………………………………………………………………………………..
African,
I give props to you for detecting a Hater in Trane from way back.
And Trane, have some nerve to come on KnicksDefender, then reports on Hahn’s site that we are: …”threatened they are by any criticism of the Knicks or their management team. And by this naïve notion of a monolithic mass media.”
We know Trane’s dead wrong on this point because we are not threatened by any criticism, but that the MSM’s criticism of the NY Knicks are often times unjustified, and when justified, are mostly full of objectionable hyperbole and sarcastic remarks, and encouragement to boo the knicks and fire the coach/gm is plentiful. They (the hating- Knicks’ MSM) have an ever ready urge to spread discord and disharmony in the Knicks locker room to try to disrupt team chemistry. Thus, this then gives them ammunition to spew their hatred in their writing, about the NY Knicks.
——————————————————-
If you guys recall, Trane posing as Marquette07, was the poster that African rightfully criticize for trying to get Mark (yuck) to leave KnickKnation and KnicksFix to play resident “troll” on Knicks Defender.com. Just that, African, on duty at the time, before that kidnapping incident in the basement, where Barf and he are sworn to secrecy, called him out on that sneaky and hateful behavior.
Yes, like African, have been saying all along, Trane is mostdef a hater in a Knicks’ fan clothing. Therefore to wrap this up: Trane is not a Knicks Defender as African, would tell you, but Jay Bee is a Knicks Defender…and with that I tell Jay Bee again, “Welcome, and WriteOn.
And Trane, WriteOff.

We are relevant again Blogzilla. We are relevant to them, that is.
Defenders,
Who is Reggie Miller anyway? I know he used to play in the NBA and would make those dagger treys during the Ewing years but who is Reggie Miller? Many former players go On Air and take on this personae of hyper-critic so that the network and MSM don’t balem them for being homers or “soft” on their friends. These NBA newbies are just getting their moments in the sun but they have much to learn from the likes of Marino, Minnifield, and Bradshaw. Still, I remember an ET-lookin’-bad- toothses-buck-fiddy soakin’-wet-Knick-Wannabe; is it that same Reggie Miller? You mean to tell me that he’s still not over the fact that H20 stealthly left Detroit to come here when he thought he was going to be the one to play with Ewing? Look in the mirror Reggie Miller and take take Veil of Hypocrates out yo’ BLANK.

Glad to see your guys on duty as Knicks Defenders this AM. Keeping a sharp eye of the hating by the MSM when writing about the Knicks—but all we are doing here is calling a spade a spade.
JohnQ,
I’m glad to read that you posted your voice on that article you mentioned above. I looking forward to go over there at Knicks Fix to set some “haters” straight, like Trane and LGM(yes, king bozo, wannabe Mark or is Mark is at Knicks fix).
Trane and LGM are playing kissy kissy with each other over there, saying just because the Knicks won the last two games—they wasn’t nothing to be proud of. Trane wrote this asinine statement:”"every win is a good win” is simply ludicrous”".
He’s he spinning filth just like the Knicks hating MSM!!!

I certainly did read your entry on the SI story as suggested by the Post-up-King. He is humble and prefers to be called a Prince though his posts are royal. You too are humble and see your cup as being half-full though your posts read as if it runneth over. I’m definitely diggin’ your DNA. In fact, it has so much of the make-up of my own genome; and I am Steady. We’ve had this happen before where two-like DNAs appeared in the community. Our resident Poet Laureate Lives (who encouraged Steady to keep bloggin’) was matched by Modi (the new and now undisputed Professor–Cooleyhigh, what’s his name again?). But of course, the crafty old Poet Laureate was not going to let himself be outdone. He has pulled some tricks (old and new) out-his &&& when African suggested that he was losing it to the youngin’ Modi. Now, they are both settled in the rightful place here in the community. I will definitely find my way to “Lives” on with your DNA likeness. As you already know by now, I’m Steady, an African.

I read the article in the Observer and one question which I would like to ask these media guys is “What did Isiah do to you?” So FI misses the boat-ride and access he has and he decides to stick it to everyone? What about AHahn?
I also read the article yesterday about Steph’s reaction to the fans and I said ” Good for you Steph, when you had a problem with being benched, you decided to hook up with these snakes against your coach and mentor. Now these same guys are coming after you.” I think the media policy should be intensified till these guys show some journalistic discipline and stop the rumor-mongering.
Back to the game, I feel the X-factor will the how Curry plays Perkins. KG is going to be all over ZBo. Q can handle Pierce, with help from Jefferies and Taz. Marbs will probably be on Allen which means Craw will probably play the point tonight. All the same it promises to be a good game.

I agree with most of your statement except I think you will see Jeffries and Taz on the floor at the same time. One will be guarding Pierce the other Allen.
Marbury may be on Ray a few times but I don’t think that will be his main assisgment.
Let’s see what Isiah does in the beginning of the game with Ray. Will he keep Jamal on him? If so for how long?
Tonight will tell alot about Isiah as a coach and how far he’s come.
I can see him pulling Crawford early for either Balkman or Jeffries.
WE NEED DEFENSE TONIGHT!!!!

Folly:
Your read is so boring and girlish. Please leave it alone. You keep trying to justify a non-point, and you’re just not making much sense. Just let it go.
There are many here that feel sorry for you.(I’m not uncluded) Rest your hat on that.
Take a break, take a leave, go on vacation to mend your aching heart.
I really do believe you’re a girl.(Not a diss) Men are not usually that sensitive.
Since you won’t post here anymore, I guess that would be the end of this community, since “We need you.”
Your best bet would be Hahn’s site. Your DNA is more suited for the “Burbs.”
This is man country. The Hood. The jungle. You’ll get eaten up. You’re weak.
Anti:
Trane’s head is so far up Hahn’s ass he can tell what he had for dinner.
I’ve dealt with him way back at Bermy’s under a different cloak, so his DNA is very familiar to me.
He’s a wolf is sheep’s clothing. I’m not suprised in the least bit.
You say this new buck is a Defender, so I’ll take your word, but I really don’t sleep on the job. Right Lives! Job!
Defenders:
I’m worried about tonight’s game. We can get it, but I see Pierce going off on Q.
Pierce is going to take him to the post and use his size. We need Jefferies and Balk guarding Pierce.
We had the same problem in the Denver game. Q was playing good D, but Carmelo was just to big. Once Balk came in, that neutralized Melo.
That’s the same scenario we’re faced with. My problem is that we should have that to start the game.
I know reality. Zeke will start the same team, but we need better defense at that position.
This is going to be a very good game. We know Boston would be all hyped over this one.
The funny thing is; Everyone claims that this team is so bad, but why does everyone bring their A-game against us?
They know why. The Defenders are not fooled. I still see a 50 win team.

Wuz up my Defender fam. The Resurrection of the Knick franchise should continue tonight. I’m hoping to see my Knicks come out victorious against the little leprchauns from Boston but if a victory is not in the stars then I would at least like the world to see them fight their tails off tonight against the paper champions. Eddy needs to play good tonight for us to win actually everybody needs to do thier thug thizzle but Eddy has the clear advantage over Perkins and it needs to be exploited. Has anybody noticed Jamal is not chucking up shots at a insane pace these past few games? I’m becoming impressed with his maturity and I think he’s shooting like 45% from 2 point range while shooting 30% from three point range which would give him about a 40% fg average. If he can get those three’s to start dropping at a more frequent clip then I’ll be truly happy with his play.

from about 1 month ago Knicks: (49-33) Shocker alert: Isiah Thomas is a good coach and a good person. Find a former player of his other than Austin Croshere’s stiff butt who wouldn’t love to be playing for Isiah. It’s odd how people try to throw him out of town when he gets a team together that’s ready to contend. The guys on this team are loyal to him, only. He treats them with respect and has created a truly competitive environment. It is bringing out the best in the players. Don’t believe it? He’s got N8 playing like a man. I actually believe that 52 wins is not out of the question for this team. But I knew that would set you guys off for WWIII. Just know that I’m not drinking your kool-aid and you don’t have to drink mine. But I will save a slice of that pie for you at the end of the season. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see who said what and have a good laugh about it. You can’t run Isiah out of the league with your poison pens, he’s too good. This is the year he proves it. Good for Dolan being thick skinned enough to let him give it a go in spite of the media, the commish and the entire league spitting on him. Still paying for that “If Bird was black…” comment almost 20 years later. Sports writers don’t forget. Let it go people. It wasn’t even his statement. It was Rodman’s. He just cosigned. Bird was great but deep down you know it was true, that’s why it hurt. Work through the pain and grow from it.
Celtics: (44-38) I may be a homer, but I’m not sold on the “Big Three”. I’m looking at another three; as in the one in front of all of their ages. They will win more this season, but father time is a real sum beach. He will come for us all at some point. Ray Allen goes down for his midseason nap around January and the “big two” begin taking “stabs” at each other (Sorry about that Pierce). However, the press has anointed these guys to take the East and win the ring. One problem though, o.k. several problems: First, in the East, we play defense. Teeeeeeeam Defense. The transplants will have to get used to the pounding they’re going to have to take. And who is not going to stick their foot under Ray Allen to try to get them ankles or make him think about the shot? Second, their bench is D-League material. They are probably waiting on teams to release players so they can fill out their bench. That’s what Cleveland did so why not.
Nets: (41-41) Byron Scott’s team with a weaker coach. Funny how the media gives Lawrence Frank a pass when Scott took essentially the same team to the finals twice. Karma’s a beeeeyatch though and they haven’t been back since. Kidd’s back is worse off than they’re letting on. He had an epidural to alleviate the pain. Have a baby and see what an epidural can do to you. Kidd is going to miss a significant amount of games because the grind will grind his old azz up. He needs rest and they can’t afford to give it to him. If he does go down, deduct seven games from that total. Someone has a little Jason Kidd voodoo doll and he’s beatin’ that little mutha in the back, that someone is Byron Scott. Without Kidd to make him look smart, Frank is exposed as a hard working fraud. He won’t get fired though, because he’s a “good guy”. Well that and he’s so little and cuddly with that swoop dog hairstyle. I’m sure Thorn doesn’t go to bed without his little Frankie.
Raptors: (33-49) These furriners are going to be cussin’ each other out in 5 languages by the all-star break. This year teams will get physical with Toronto and they will back down like the Euro panzies they appear to be. Barnanny will get that #1 shoved up his chocolate hwy. nightly. Two Spaniards, an Eye-talian and Black guy walk into a bar… Raptors regress, East is better, they practically stood pat, bottom line. I like the move to get Candace Parker’s older brother though. She can really play. Maybe they can convince her to do a reverse Juwanna Mann for them. Maybe they already have…?? Anyway “Raptors lose” will become a recurring theme and Sam Mitchell will be fired for CWB.
76ers: (23-59) Someone called the Knicks the laughing stock of the league. This team just cut Derrick Byars who gave defensive specialist Jeff Green and the whole SEC fits. You mean to tell me Derrick Byars isn’t good enough to be on the 76ers? I predict the 76ers will be accused of tanking games and won’t be offended by the accusation. Downside: Greg Oden is already gone. Without Dalembert, teams will collapse on AIjr forcing him into career highs in turnovers and assists.

This game will likely be won by the bench. Our starters should just make sure they don’t go down by a wide margin. The reason Boston lost the Cleveland game was because the 3 top guns were exhausted. We have to do the same to them tonight. Keep up the intensity till KG and company decide to rest, then blow them into Boston harbor.
One more win tonight.

JohnQ:
You’re right that everyone brings it at the Garden, but there is an extra effort put out by every coach in this league to beat the Knicks. The Knicks have always been the franchise to hate. It’s a big city thing, then you sprinkle a little dash of zeke; it’s war. Every team brings their A-game to the Knicks on any court. No doubt.
By African on Nov 29, 2007
National stage, plus rivalry game, plus first-game-of-series, plus fake-return-of-America’s-team = big game tonight. If it weren’t for the Knicks’s national witchhunt, I would have expected a couple of technicals.
I’ve been on the SF soapbox for some time, but I think tonight will be different. That gangsta named Q knows what’s up. He knows what he said. He knows it’s LA versus Chi-town. Pierce is going to try to take it to him early because of those statements. KG and Allen will naturally step aside for the 1st quarter and let the fight go down. Pierce knows he can shoot easily over Q. But my gut tells me Q is gonna be ready for this. I’m riding with the man who called them punks before they got to the stage. Q will be ready.
I’m watching this one in a local Irish pub. Yeah, it’s on and poppin tonight!

Pre-game Analysis
This season I’ve noticed that most teams are sending a guard to swat at the ball once Eddy or Zbo gets it in the post. In the games they’ve won, they swung the ball around and got a better shot. We don’t want our offense being limited to dunks and threes, although I’ll take that if it’s falling. Eddy is going to have to get hairy wit’ these dudes and stop being so friendly on the court. He’s such a likable guy, but dammmmmit man!!! DUNK THE BALL and make these fools foul you or get out of your way. As if he can hear me. Curry has to have better recognition of where he is when he gets the ball. If your man is in the circle, DUNK THE BALL!! If your arm is being held while you’re dunking the ball take him up with you and then DUNK THE BALL!! If Kevin Garnett is going up for one of his high-flying dunks, challenge the shot. Ludden is actually right when he gets pissed off that Eddy is going into the fourth quarter with one foul. Eddy has got to start getting physical. Crawford had the right idea with the hard foul in Boston. There are no layups. None! That fact that the league did nothing when Pierce grabbed him is insane given how crazy Stern normally is about that kind of stuff. Not even a fine. All the more reason to have the elbows and hard picks going tonight. Inside-out ball works best if you have a team that goes to the hoop strong, plays stingy team defense, and can execute in the half court sets. Possessions will be limited and it will be imperative that Crawford remains in control and doesn’t go Stawrford on us. I agree with the earlier poster that Crawford was out of control earlier in the season. The past few games though, (Utah 7-16, Chi 2-7) he’s not forcing it so much. If anyone on this team takes 27 shots again he better have 50 or more points to show for it. (I’ll take that too.) To loosen up the defense we’re going to have to rehearse the pick and roll to perfection. Okay, I’m rambling now. I’m going to stop here and pick up my dribble at game time.

By African on Nov 29, 2007
Who watched the Cav’s beat the Celtics? I did and I saw something in KGs and Pierce’s
face! They were tired! As a matter of fact, the game should have never went to overtime.
James missed a 12 foot jumper! The Celtics realize that the “Edge” they once held is
not going to work all season! The Knicks are one of the 3 teams that beat them starting in
preseason! The Vegas line is the Celtic -13! Take the Knicks and the points!
Bet your lungs! There will be no slow start for the Knicks tonight! Q has stated this teams tude,
with him saying, we are not in Awe of the Celtics! I believe the Knicks are more up for this game
than anyother so far, includeing our preseason rematch!
Time for a Crawford break out! We will be pounding it inside, but when Crawford and Marbury
get the Kick out…..PURE! I have that feeling! The Knicks Know that a win tonight will send the MSM to
cutting their wrists! Marbury on Allen, gloved! Pierce will be shown the roster of Balk, Jefferies, Q,
suffocate him early and the Celtics will fold! If you are impressed with there winning streak…
remember, it’s fools gold, an old light blub burns brightest before it burns out! Watch their losing streak, that began in Cleveland continue! The Knicks will win not by 2 not by 3 but by 14! Call me out after the game,
But I can feel it in the AIR again Tonight! Hold on!
By Peaceman on Nov 29, 2007
Boy don’t start talking shyte. You know I’m sensitive about the Sistics coming out the block like World Champs. But I ain’t scared becuase Peaceman has identified that they are starting to regress to what I know they are. Chumps. Garnett is ‘fraid of Randolph — much respect. Stop Pierce’s ass from driving the lane and you’ve got Vince Carter — a jumpshooter. Does he rebound? Who is going to foul Eddie Curry. Don’t get me upset Af, burning my books ain’t cool. Remember I’m the one who sent the Dirty Dozen to get your behind out of that basement.
By Lives In New Jersey. Loves New York on Nov 29, 2007
Lives:
I hereby retract that statement.
Anyone that would send the posse out to get me commands respect in my book.
I’m really worried about Pierce though. He’s the assassin of the bunch. He’ll tear your heart out.
I hope Balk ate his spinach.
By African on Nov 29, 2007
Yeah, Pierce is tough. But don’t gove him a lane. Stay in front of him and make him force his shots. Deny Allen the ball and make him play D. If we have the ‘tude of the second preseason game this could turn into a 4 game winning streak. I remain skeptical about our ability to handle Phoenix.
Note that Zeke needs to play two games tonight. This is the first end of a back-to-back. I would not sacrifice tonights game for tomorrow’s easier win. In other words open up that rotation and wear ride the big threes’ ass like jockeys. I’m telling you, they play like every game is a playoff game and the bench is always up and cheering like it’s high school. Really cool vibe, but it can’t last. The only one who might be able to handle it is KG who I do wish luck in the MVP voting.
I hear you guys talking about Q. If he has that 3 going he is a weapon in the starting line-up that we don’t have otherwise. This offense was designed with him in mind. Agreed though that Jeffries and Balk should ride Pierce. I don’t care who starts but you guys give Balk too much credit as good as he is. He is still learning to play disciplined defense. He has a lot of trouble with players with handles. Watch how far back he plays them in an effort to “guess” where they’re going to dribble. He needs to be up on his man to take advantage of his length. I understand that he doesn’t want to get beat, but he still does.
Watch Curry block some shots. He said it was addictive. That would be the sign of the beginning of a new era. But don’t get too happy, because it took Ewing a couple of years to not get faked out or faked into fouls when he was trying to block shots. But that last block in the Utah game was beautiful.
Opps, got carried away. Gotta go.

Got the list from the yesterday’s post, interesting players in that crop. Let’s not get Statesman upset with the OTP thing. We will have to wait till the end of the season OR,if our Knicks really start stinkin’.
Defenders,
I have no prediction on the game, I just want us to win by 1……..or 100. I’ll just take the win.
I think we have enough good defenders (JJ,Balk,FJones) to stop their big 3. I think the key could be Marbury outworking Rondo. Steph is too strong for him to cover. He should be able to get into the paint all night.Crawford must fight though the screens,Q will d-up. Zach’s “O” could get KG in foul trouble. And EC has to be a beast. That’s how we will win.

DEE-FENDERS,
Tonight is one game on the journey. A WIN would be a Statement, while a tough loss is just a loss.
Too early to to evaluate the Celts. The Celts’ schedule has been WEAK. They have not played any of
the Top teams out West. Denver @home, after we took Denver’s legs, has been their highest rated Western
opponent. No West Coast Trips, and Toronto has been their best road Win. It’s all hype!!
@Steady, Q, would have hard time guarding 2s out on floor, and negate his effectiveness. Doesn not have lateral
quickness to chase Wade,Gordon,RIP, & others for 30 minutes(maybe 5-6 min./game).
@UnSteady–What do you think of this trade? Eddy Curry, Randolph Morriss % Malik, for DWIGHT HOWARD.
Orlando would get 2 Centers and a Scholar. Also because the backcourt is young, Malik could provide
Leadership. Will you and the Resident GM put this in the Trade-Machine and tell me what you think?
Peace & Blessings

if you had the strength of a real man you’d be more like MODI who can weild real evidence. MODI is a deadly myth-killer but does not deal with ghosts. he doesn’t fire blindly at imaginary targets, flinching at every couldbe and maybewhat. he shoots plain an straight at plain-as-day targets. here’s a thought: have the cojones to be charitable in the face of Great Doubt. how bout that.
now even a deaf, blind and dumb man will hit a target now and then if you give him an unlimited supply of bullets. basically, every last person is a target and you’re never wrong, you just go back to “watching.” feh. you are a waste of my time and spirit (never again).
back to basketball…
the celts have some good stuff goin for em, a trio of can’t miss vets backed by…well, they ain’t got much backup. but the starters are meshing well and that means trouble while they’re all upright. no tales outta skool there. however, no need for freakishly superb games from the whole knicks squad. i’m thinkin even if most of the guys have only good (i.e. not awesome) games, we should def do alright against the celtics. this is too close to *predict* a win (yeah, i’m chickening out ;-)) but play hard/smart for 48 mins and you never know what might happen.

3)Statesman as Charles Bronson playing Waldsilaw
4)Post-Up Prince as Donald Sutherland
5)Cooleyhigh as Jim Brown playing Jefferson
6)Folleymacher replacing Busby and playing himself
7)Orange and Blue as Clint Walker playing Posey

As for tonight’s game…Yes Steady, I am now in the right time zone, I wonder if there is a way to tune out the sound on TNT, and tune in another radio or internet broadcaset? If anyone knows, pass that along. The TNT crew is bound to crow over Boston’s big three and bring up all the anti-Knick news (ABS, Marbury’s absence, etc.) we have heard for weeks. This game sets the stage for what promises to be a resumption of the old Knick-Celtic rivalry; it would great to give Boston their first loss on their home court. As I said before, containing Pierce is the key. LGK.

There you bring up a good point that me and the bros were speaking on last week.
ECity is being handled mostly by Mark Aquirre, teaching him lop-post moves.
QUESTION: Who is teaching him how to play like a big man/center…..a la Ewing with Howard?
Who is showing him how to block/change shot, defend the painted area?
We must remember this kid came out of high school and did not have the formal college training like Ewing,Morning,Shaq.
Shouldn’t he have a big man school coach…..please don’t mention HERB,he never was defensive player.

No full blown analysis. Sneakin’ some words while the kids are in front of the telee. Forgive all errors. No time for even spellcheck.
Celtics’ Best Five Man Units
1. Rondo-R. Allen- Pierce-Garnett-Perkins
2. Rondo-R.Allen-Pierce-Posey-Garnett
3. House -R. Allen - Pierce -Garnett-Perkins
4. House-R.Allen-Pierce-Posey-Garnett
5. Rondo-R. Allen-Pierce-Scalabrine-Garnett
The first line-up is their best and most productive and has a 9-1 record and a +70 differential. The squad is at its weakest with Rondo and Posey on the floor or Rondo and Scalabrine or Rondo and House.
When Garnett is not on the floor expect the following unit: T. Allen-House-Pierce-Posey-Pollard
When Pierce is not on the floor expect the following unit: T.Allen-House-R. Allen-Scalabrine-Garnett
When R. Allen is not on the floor, expect the following unit: T. Allen-House-Pierce-Posey-Pollard or T.Allen-House-Posey-Scalabrine-Garnett
With House on the floor, the team is more turnover prone.
Garnett has played in 78% of the teams minutes while Pierce has played in 80% and Allen 82%.

Then off course they’ll add that the Celtics are undefeated at home and the Knicks haven’t won a game on the road.
And to try to diminish the Knicks even further they’ll go as far as saying that the two game winning streak is simply even a dog having its day.
Well although I have my reservations about whether we’ll take a w in beantown, I do look foward to seeing the Knicks showing some heart and intensity.
This is a game in which the Knicks must not let their lesser demons bury them. Their strenghts and resolution and hustle must carry them. A victory will be icing on the cake. A competitive game well that’s cake but I prefer my cake with Sweet Icing.

Correct me if I’m wrong Defenders but did we just get added on TNT for this game. Seems like we were black-out for the season. If so, it must mean that the pundits now realize we gotta thang’ goin’ on in da NYC.

He can talk about someones grammar?????

O&B, Barkley could not care less about being wrong. He’s getting paid to continue being the knucklehead the MSM trashed before his schtick became marketable enough to grow a show around him.

16-7 C’s 4:52 left in the first.
The Knicks are staying competitive. They’ve withstood an offensive barrage by the C’s.
QRich has 5 boards, KG has 7.
Curry has not been credited with a block as of yet.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
We will warm up! with the easy misses we are lucky it’s not a bigger lead!
By Peaceman on Nov 29, 2007
KG has also had a block omitted from his statline.

why does every Boston mistake have a rational explanation attached to it but Knicks possessions come with a prerequisite criticism.

perkins with 2 fouls in the first. BOUNCE!!!
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007

Marbury with 2 fouls in the first. UNBOUNCE!!!

Rondo’s killing it so far. We may have to put Nate in a bit earlier than expected.

Scalab’s for 3. 23-8 C’s.
QRich tips in a ZBo miss for the Knicks’ 10th pt.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
There’s no tempo for the Knicks yet. Kind of a slow start. The bench is just starting to get some burn with 2 minutes left in the 1st.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
Rondo’s coming off curl plays and hitting jumpers?
Since when.
25-12 C’s 52.6 seconds left in the 1st.

for the 4th! We shot like shit and are still in this game! Time for a run!!!!!!

I would say a lil bit of both going on Boston’s side
By Knicksome on Nov 29, 2007

Will Marv Albert shut up? He is laying it on thick. His attacks tonight are venomous. He truly despises our heroes.
By Vic Corbit on Nov 29, 2007
The Knicks are playing tough on defense tonight. Like the effort.
They aren’t hitting their shots and neither is Boston.
Whats wrong with the Knicks?
So far, Curry hasn’t found his rhythm. Perkins is playing him well on the defensive end. The refs seems to want to let them play and are swallowing their whistles early on. ZBo is doing well off the dribble when he isn’t settling for jumpshots too early in the shot clock.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
@ Knicksdefense…
“marv is rippin’ isiah and dolan a new one right now. sour grapes? i can hear him smiling as he revisits all the dirt.”..
Why doesn’t he make mention of his fetish for “biting” ladies in hotel rooms while he’s at it…

By knicksdefense on Nov 29, 2007
32-16 C’s with 8 minutes left as Ray Allen lins up a free throw to complete a three pt play.
And its in for 33 pts. Stephon comes back with a midrange j to make it 18 pts for the Knicks.
On the other end, Eddie House throws a perfect lead pass to Perkins for an easy layup.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
balk couldn’t catch it under the hoop. these guys are nervous. get into the game.
By knicksdefense on Nov 29, 2007
This is the same type of performance we had in the preseason. We cannot score. Boston is doing nothing to stop us. We are missing from every angle. We just need to make shots, period.
By Vic Corbit on Nov 29, 2007
JCraw should go to the bench for not fouling Allen.
Its not looking good right now.
Oh, oh.
Plenty of time. But its not looking good, right now.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
Why not get Crawford involved in the offense—there’s no ball movement—and Boston lead is getting larger.
By Anti-NYSportsNews on Nov 29, 2007
They got burnt on that same pick and roll twice.
Other teams picks keep working effectively against the Knicks.
Very frustrating.
The Knicks usually shoot better than this.
You think their too tense thinking they got to prove something?
By Orange and Blue on Nov 29, 2007
Curry and ZBo were both huge in the preseason victory.
Who was out for the Celtics? Perkins.
Does he have that much impact for the C’s?
Curry and ZBo have to get something if we have a shot to win.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
Unfortunately, Stephon thinks its time to get shooting from deep.
By BARF on Nov 29, 2007
Unbelievable
By Vic Corbit on Nov 29, 2007
5 minutes left, all we are doing is taking outside jumpshots.
42-18 Celts.
