Let me say I have great empathy for what you are going through!
Trust me, persoal losses in my life in the last two years are enough to make
people question…what’s this all about! My solution? I try to stay off the Cross cause you guys could use the Wood!
Heres some inspiration that has helped me! Listen to the song from the Group “Pockets.” The title is
“EVERYBODY, COME GO WITH ME.” believe it or not it was a disco tune that was actually Gospel!
It has such a great beat it’s almost impossible not to dance to, but the words???? LISTEN TO THEM!
    LETS GO KNICKS!

  15. Defenders,
I had a “thought” the other day. The fact that we’re NYK and a chartered franchise that plays in the city where the Lil General 5* sits, every team comes in here to make their statement. Even the teams tankin’ it and playin’ for da Megamillion’ come in here to play their best game lest be found out with prima facia evidence (as Cooleyhigh loves to say) that they’re not putting a competitive product out there for the fans a la the Lepras 2006. That Minnesota game the other day was just too damn blatant and too damn early in the season to be playing out like that. And what about Charlotte’s Spencer rebound with 4 secs. left given up for Ray to send them home vexed. Wonder how much the co-owner lost on that game? Just bloggin’.

kirilenko comes back with a back down move off glass…on qrich

zbo outmaneuvers boozer in the lane with a lefty hook to tie it up at 8…

By Peaceman on Nov 26, 2007 at 7:53 pm

  37. True. but this is a good matchup for him. And he is active.

By HarleminMD on Nov 26, 2007 at 7:53 pm

  38. bxboy, skiles had it all in chicago but got greedy wanting more. now he has less to show for it.

Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry complemented each other in their youth. One was a scorer and a big body (curry) and Tyson was a defensive minded rebounder.

Skiles thought Ben Wallace was an upgrade??

He got both older and less skills by giving up on the two youngsters. I’m hoping he gets “Rick Carlisle”-d at the end of this year.

  43. Are you watching Charles?

By HarleminMD on Nov 26, 2007 at 7:57 pm

  44. You know Deron has arrived in the league when Stephon “gets up” to play you. The dude is all ego.

    Its good for us though.

Curry may have to come out after watching Oku jay him up for 3 from the corner.

ZBo is looking good from the start. Another hook in the lane.

    Boozer looks unsurprisingly unstoppable.

Breen’s up to his usual garbageness after Boozer hits a leaning - fade away hook in the lane. Trying to call a great shot “Bad D”.

  45. Who’s DLee covering?

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 7:59 pm

  46. ZBo’s cooking. 6-6 from the field. 29-25 Knicks.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 7:59 pm

  47. Zach is feelin’ it 2 nite. Maybe Jamal will be featured in the 3rd or 4thQ

By Steady on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:00 pm

  48. Commercial break.

Our Knicks looks active on D. Even though, so far, its been largely ineffective. Utah is as good as advertised and Boozer is showing no signs of wear after playing a huge game last night.

The Knicks look well rested and definitely came out the gates with some “pop”.

Curry’s got the short end of the matchups tonight. Looks a little slow. Steph is hot. ZBo’s hotter. Let’s see how our second team runs against the Jazz.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:02 pm

    Happy gamenight to you.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:03 pm

  54. @ Steady…

Love his skillz, but Curry usually is the weak link….at least defensively.

And had he went up and piped it instead of tryna lay it over the rim (as Clyde mentioned, too much english)..he would’ve had a bucket.

    Goin’ up soft as usual.

By bronxboy in Md on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:04 pm

  55. great save by n8

By Vic Corbit on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:07 pm

  60. Don’t know what Zeke told these dudes, but I hear sneakers squeakin’ and very active hands.

I also see less burn for Curry if he doesn’t get with the program defensively.

By bronxboy in Md on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:08 pm

  61. Iceman Eddie.

By HarleminMD on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:08 pm

    Ha!!!….

    LMAOOOOOOO

By bronxboy in Md on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:09 pm

  63. The second team is holding their own. A little rushed on offense and a little sloppy in execution, but holding their own nonetheless.

Second team, headed by DLee, Balk and ZBo, matches up well. DLee guards Okur who likes to float on the perimeter. Balkman on the strong but slow Harpring and ZBo on the Milsap.

The ZBo acquisition really shines on a night like tonight. Channing Frye was definitely a weak link against Milsap. He overwhelmed Frye last year.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:09 pm

  64. We look like a different team tonight. Utah is loaded. Uptempo is their forte. They can look awesome at times but slow them down and make them play discipline, we have a chance.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:11 pm

  68. who just got dunked on by DLee on a nice pass from Balkman.

    34-29 Knicks 2nd quarter

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:11 pm

  69. Harpring’s garbage and over paid. A bad anchor for them and their payroll.

#31, is the “other” twin, Jarrod (?) Collins. He looks so much slimmer than Jason Collins on the Nets.

He’s a good matchup against DLee though. Forgot about him.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:13 pm

  70. Samurai Sworded Dross?

    Was African violated too?

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:13 pm

    He is YOUNG

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:15 pm

  72. It is soooooooooo nice to see Balkman hitting that mid range jumper with regularity…

If he develops that shot, we have something truly special!

    Marcus Williams who!!!!!!

By Peaceman on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:17 pm

  75. BALKMAN with a Jumper

Jared Jeffries hit one last game. Now Balkman hits one!!

DLEE where’s the jumper you were talking about?

The team looks better when its not depending on JCraw to create most of its shots. It looks like they are finally buying into the motion offense Isiah has put in place. When they dump the ball and just stand around, it’s really a different team. When their backs to the basket, Curry and ZBo DO look to pass out. Not all the time…not yet. But lets remember that ZBo and Curry are a BRAND NEW THING!

Given time, given experience, it could be a dangerous duo.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:17 pm

  78. @ Steady, post #65…

I was thinkin’ the same, just didn’t want to make a statement like that considering the issue with his ticker…..

    But I agree.

By bronxboy in Md on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:19 pm

  79. Jason Collin’s lips are HUGE!!!!

Anyone else remember when he got elbowed in his mouth and continued to play? I swore dude was going to float away.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:19 pm

  80. Nah, I won’t give up on Curry. He has real skills. People pretend like every big man has his skills around the basket and wanna write him off as a player.

yes, he has deficiencies. No, he’s not the player now that he will ultimately be. I do not expect him to become Ben Wallace. On the right team, running the right system, with the right backup, Curry has a role on a team.

    Is he Ewing? Uh, no.

    Completely different player.

I’m not being led astray by the same dude who doesn’t know what Nate contributes.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:22 pm

    It’s mind-bogglin…

By bronxboy in Md on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:27 pm

  88. Have the fire, I understand and agree. He’s not a franchise type player. He’s not the best player on the team either. If Isiah continued to build the team with Curry as the head, I’d have a bigger problem with Curry. But I.T. controls Curry’s minutes and he doesn’t over extend him either.

I’m patient. I’ll reserve my ultimate judgment of Curry in about a year.

In the meantime, the Knicks have really slopped it up in the last few minutes.

By BARF on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:29 pm

  89. BARF JOHNSON!
    It’s a pleasure!

By Peaceman on Nov 26, 2007 at 8:30 pm

  90. Bronx, because he has not figured it out. We need him to be this way. Not the robot he tends to become. Thomas ought to bottle this effort and use it as a motivational tool. Marbury is still one of the best guards in the NBA when he asserts himself.

Utah’s outassisting us by 9 (18-9) (Steph- 4, Nate and Balkman- 2 each)

  124. States, by patience I mean, I will continue looking at the big picture. I’m in no rush to develop Curry into the most un-flawed Center in the league. You make it seem like every center has his size, skills in the post.

If Curry had no redeeming qualities, I would unyieldingly shit on him. I haven’t seen you be more critical than I on Curry…just less patient.

I’ve had tons to say on Curry and have shared it here amongst us. I just choose to hold on to the good that Curry contributes…because I know his skills at the Center position aren’t “a dime a dozen”.

As for my “Rose Colored Glasses”…so be it. I’m on record as liking a 4th string player because of his personality and character. If that ends up blowing up in my face, I can live with myself.

Lives, you have been holding it down like none other. I appreciate you good sir.

  146. BARF,

I am a fan of Curry. Zeke babied him and the team last year, because the HOF destroyed the
fun of basketball. Now is time for TOUGH LOVE. Curry has been in the league 6 years,
time to STEP UP. Keep his hands up and board. No excuse for not rebounding, at
this point in his career. I love his low post offense, but he needs to also rebound
or play D. I not saying both but just 1.

    Peace & Blessings

By Charles Follymacher on Nov 26, 2007 at 9:23 pm

  183. Yeah, DLee has problems with pure power players, be it forwards or centers. He needs to add some core power in the offseason. I don’t worry about the kid though, he’s a hard worker.

Boozer’s back in the fourth. Utah can score in bunches.

If the Knicks come out the gate for the fourth quarter, we got the game in hand. But if they come out like they have it hand without playing a full quarter, we’re in trouble.

  194. Balkman and Jeffries is very interesting.

Thats why Zeke is paid to coach and GM and Be A Real Fan sits at home admiring the game.

The longer Curry is out of the game at this point the better. If he could finish the game with a lead, it could only help his confidence.

Curry should play garbage time to work on his defense.
