My last post looks so gay …..

I should’ve said no homo….

Marbury must go….

AF, visionary, I told you so.

I thought Stephon trusted Zeke. I thought he bought into him as a man even if he didn’t buy into all the coaching. Steph’s got a problem. He doesn’t turn the other cheek. Christianity isn’t a fit, maybe he should try Scientology. I hear its the all the latest rage. His sister’s going to be so pissed.

DVJ, lol

This is just a bad F- ing dream!

5 STATESMAN November 14, 2007 at 11:07 am

BARF,

You asked did I get my opinion from Kenny Smith? No, I watch the game and then I form an opinion. I asked where
did you get that Malik was a leader? From Isola, Hahn? Teams do not trade leaders. Malik was grumbling about
more playing time and Pop shipped his azz out. Before he traded him his minutes were cut significantly. Because he
provides inside scoop to the reporters, they tell you that he is a leader. Have you heard 1 Knick or 1 Spur say that
Rose was a leader, or a scholar. …. I don’t think so, stay out of the MSM soup. In the words of Peaceman-”San Antonio
sure miss his leadership”.

Barf games are not won and lost on one play. Mardy missing the foul shots did not help. Jamal’s weak entry pass to Curry that
was stolen contributed as well. J Will shot was not the culpprit, but lack of energy and execution was the problem.
That has to go at Zeke’s feet. If Steph is the headache that is being portrayed, (he could be), he did not just get this way.
This move is done in training camp, not 5 games into the season, so that it has the potential to blow up your season. This was
not only porly handled by Steph, Zeke handled this just at bad

Afican, where’s the proof that you called Steph, Pip? You also called N8 Calvin Murphy, and Curry..baby Shaq, and after Dwight Howard
Chamberlized Curry, (as in Wilt), you disappeared my brother,(LOL)

Peace & Blessing

Good AM Defenders

I am certain the events of the past three days has all of US scratching our heads a bit and comtemplating what else can go wrong or what can be done to get this TEAM back on the right track. Each of US in our own unique way is disappointed, even digusted by these recent events (Lack of team play offensely and defensely; coaching; injuries; selfish behavior on and off he court). In moments like these it is hard to see any LIGHT at the end of tunnel, BUT IT IS THERE, AS A MATTER OF FACT YOU KNOW IT IS THERE.

Will we ever kow what actually happen between IT and Steph? Probably not. We’ll get bits and pieces and plenty of sound bites regarding this DRAMA. At this juncture, regardless of what has transpired OUR BELOVED KNICKS will have to suit up and play the games scheduled and I am CONFIDENT each and every Defender will be cheering and supporting the cast of characters suited up with the KNICKS ENBLEM blazing across thier chests.

Lastly DEFENDERS, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON, and time will reveal to US ALL what is in store FOR OUR BELOVED KNCIKS. WHATEVER HAPPENS, BLOGZILLA has given US a forum to do it together in unity, decency, and in order. We certainly can be thankful and grateful for having this HOME.

Headed to the airport and headed home. In the interim DEFENDERS, stay committed and productive, and continue the carry the KNICK BANNER.

Peace, Love, Longevity, and Porsperity to all my fellow DEFENDERS!

Keep it POPPIN

Has there ever been a precedent where a team did not buy out a player, rather just sent him home until his contract expired?
I know 2 years is a long time…but why reward Marbury for this crap?

Random thoughts fromd da boomann

1. Stephon has lost my respect as a basketball player and a man. You don’t at no times run from your problems. If you have a fault it’s still your responsibily to come out and be a man. The most important thing I’ve learned about being a man is staying consistent. And his inconsitentcies are a major flaw in any man.

2. Eddy Curry is getting a bad rap. His effort has been a lot better but still gets held back by questionable ref calls.

3. Chicago will continue to stink up the joint like fresh manure

4. Boston looks like a Michael Meyers movie.

states, i’ve seen clips on various channels where malik displays his leadership abilities…be it talking to kids, walking with his teammates, sharing his thoughts on the game…during the games you can see his is one of the most vocal players on the court on defense. like I have said repeatedly, when you have a young team, you need vets with leadership abilities. don’t take my statement out of its context. if there were other vets who can lend their leadership to this team, i’d be all for it too. but you guys talk about malik like he should be the firs to go. like he’s a problem or something. and thats funny to me.

so while you’re busy heaping garbage on him for the sake of a scapegoat, i’ll heap praise on him for the things he does for the team.

having said that, if he’s the one who ratted steph out to the media…if malik’s the “source”…he should go. no ifs, ands or buts. you know the deal here with the msm, and the last thing the team needs is a leak.

and I didn’t say games are lost on one play. you must have me confused with someone else. i said steph gave up the gibson flurry against cleveland. he doubled lbj twice, and twice gibson got his shot off. jwill roasted most of the game, not just the last minute. nelson over powered him and out quicked him…looking like a young steph.

i’m not saying all is lost with steph, I’m saying he shouldnt be surprised he was benched. he should have looked at it as a challenge…not as an excuse to bail on the team.

isiah’s under pressure to win and needs to get out of his players whatever they have to give. steph ain’t bigger than anyone else on the team. but you seem to be defending him…why?

To me, Zeke’s managerial ways are explainable, if not, understandable.

I have other PG’s who can lead the way I want them to lead. There are PG’s on the roster I would like to see get more minutes. Steph’s had a hard time against Phoenix and Mardy finished the year off strong last year so I would like to see if he has something to offer. As for SG’s, why penalize Jamal because I want a longer look at Mardy? He didn’t say he was going to Italy in 2 years. Steph’s already said he’s gonna bail in 2 years and everyone else will be still be here. So I am supposed to bench the team’s leading scorer because of Steph’s ego?

If Steph could still be a dominant force on the floor every night out, there wouldn’t be a problem.

I can say Zeke should have seen Steph’s problem with being benched ahead of time. But you’re saying Zeke should have foreseen Steph bailing on the team?

Steph walking out on the team…is that explainable, understandable?

If so, I need help understanding why Steph left.

One NBA player close to the situation said punches were eventually thrown

DEATH OF THE NYC PG by SLAM

To look at so many NYC point guards these days is to look at a ball-player that seems to be unaware of the innate nature of the position. The subtle nuances — what used to be second nature to the Gotham products — have been eaten away by these other tendencies.

16 BARF November 14, 2007 at 11:58 am

Give me another point that possessed or possesses all the natural tools Steph does. Yet, at every stop, Steph has never really tapped into the transcendent talent that could have made some of his teams into perennial contenders. And it was often ego or misguided principals that built a frustratingly low ceiling for him and his squads. It’s what was reported to have fractured his relationship with KG and the Timberwolves (a tandem that could have been Shaq and Kobe-esque), it’s what submarined stints with the Suns, the Nets and now the Knicks. Given his talent, his pedigree, his opportunities and his brushes with brilliance; one wouldn’t be going to far to say that Steph’s career may be the greatest underachievement of his basketball generation.

States:
If you really need me to search the archives, I will. I saw in Steph a point that was not a good fit for the power game this team is built for. Steph broke the play consistently.
I was at the Garden at the NJ pre season game and made my observations here.
I do see Calvin in Nate. Not Eddy Murphy. Nate is probably the best player on the team. I said it before.
I do also see a baby Shack in Curry (offensively that is) if he has the right point to run the show.
If you need proof of my statements, that would be my assignment for the day.
Whenever I’m not on here, don’t take it as running away. I don’t run away from issues, you should know that by now.
I’m “Steady.”

18 Jazz November 14, 2007 at 12:02 pm

I still find it hard to believe that some people are actually blaming Zeke for this. What should he have done? Continue to play Marbury even though he didn’t seem to be keeping up? In the Denver game, we won only because Isiah put Jamal on AI and Balk on Melo. Prior to this AI was getting everything he wanted against Marbury and Nate was bothered by his hammy. Marbury seemed uninterested in guarding his man. He probably doesn’t like it that he is like the 4th scoring option on this team but with Curry and Zbo, that shouldn’t be his role. You think Jason Kidd or Nash would worry about how many points he scored or number of minutes? Such childish stuff.

How best to put all the players on your team on notice than to set your best friend as an example. We lost games to Orlando and Miami that we should easily have won all because Marbs could not setup players well and didn’t defend. I really didn’t miss him yesterday. Although Phoenix got a lot of open looks in the first half, by second half the Knicks played better ball. Had the refs not been too hard on Curry, the end would have been very close. The play with the same intensity and I don’t see why they would not win 2 games on this trip. When Zbo comes back, who will need Marbury?

Steph better be playing tonight. One game is bad enough…and he’d better have an apology ready too. after that off season he and zeke went through…and now this? c’mon man. you’re better than that.

Still no visual on Marbury
Stephon Marbury could be on his way to Los Angeles.

Whether that means he’ll rejoin the Knicks in time for tonight’s game against the Clippers remains to be seen. I would imagine there would have to be a number of heart-to-heart conversations before he gets back on the court.

22 BARF November 14, 2007 at 12:09 pm

24 African November 14, 2007 at 12:10 pm

States. This is for you. My observations after the Jersey game.
I did also have a post on Steph being Pipp. I’ll find it.

Lives:
What’s up? Observations from last game. Not from home, but in the stands.
You said Steph is ready. Sorry, he’s not and he’s the problem. Yes! I said it!
Stay with me. This team is built for the inside game.
This team has two genuine monsters. The balance is a point that can get the ball to them.
Steph got caught up with a personal duel with Kidd. You can’t do that with kidd, because he’s the ultiamte team player.
Steph abandoned the game plan, and what made it worse, is that he made a few early shots.
That threw everything out of synch. Zbo was noticibly upset.
Look for Zeke to bench him early and often this year. He’s not the point for this team.
Please don’t blame Curry. A potent big man is only as good as his point guards. Curry brings fear to every opposing coach, we need to capitalize on that advantage.
Isiah is doing a good job as coach, but we need a great job done with the talent we have. We need a coach! Yes! I said it!
This GM/coach thing is running Zeke ragged. Too much for a place like N.Y. Go back to the tunnels as the GM.
At this point Craw is useless. he’s not attacking, he’just standing in a corner hoping to get an open shot. When he gets the ball he’s not putting pressure on the opponents. And we all now his defensive shortcomings.
Nate is going to take over this city. You can’t help but love this guy. He has such a way with peolple. He was high fiving everyone in the first row. All eyes were on Nate since he got on the court. Look for him to take major minutes from Steph.
Whoever said Nate should be at the end of the bench? Think again.Nate is playing at least 15 mins per. He can get to the rim with the best of them.
Mardy is the palyer to start, but next to Q. Would never happen, but that would be our best team with Zbo, Jefferies and Curry.
Trane. It’s about time. Welcome.

Af, well played sir.

“Steph got caught up with a personal duel with Kidd. ”

That’s a pattern that I’m sure 90% of the players in the league know about. The remaining 10% may be the guys on the Knicks.

27 St_George November 14, 2007 at 1:09 pm

Defenders: What is going On? This saga is debilitating. after being away for a week to come back to this. Steph MArbury What’s up Kid?? We had your back all last summer What’s uppp?

African: Once again you had foresight into this situation. You called it, I read it a few times before I left. Didn’t believe but waited to see if what you wrote was merited. Nuff Respect.

Steph was the captain of the Knicks, this was his team. I’m flabergasted just to say the least

28 JohnQ November 14, 2007 at 1:18 pm

Stephon MEbury What a real professional. Azzhole that is.

I can’t take this crap. I don’t watch soap operas for a reason. What happened to NY bball ?

Someone needs to show him that “all will NOT be well” and suspend him indefinitely away from the club so he can be “all alone”

I read an article tday ( I forget where ) saying that if Marbury is welcomed back without penalty that IT’s credibility w/ his team will disappear. I’m inclined to agree.

I dunno if I can stomach tonights game. Thank god I was at a concert and didn’t have to watch last nights drubbing. If SM wants any sort of forgiveness, he should get his pouting azz on a plane and get out to LA.
