Five Games into Knicks’ Season, Campaign Save Isiah’s Ass is Under Way

November 13, 2007 – 5:00 pm

And I’m not signing on for the remainder of the season. Too many excuses, too many scapegoats for this team recently. Kicking stephon off the team is like saying Larry Brown should have stayed head coach of the Knicks. Right or wrong, if Stephon gets bought out, I’m going to change my screen name to ewing4coach in support of Isiah’s removal from power. Isiah is making this team look circus-like, if not wacky.

Had to bump BARF up for getting a laugh out of me today.

here’s how the convo probably went?

Steph said “Ok. Nate is starting already?”

Isiah probably said: “No, its not Nate. Its Mardy.”

Steph: “So Nate’s not playing?”

Isiah: “Nate’s playing. He’s backing up Mardy”

Steph: “So when am I going to play?”

Isiah: “You’ll be backing up Jamal”

Steph: “But he’s averaging 40 minutes.”

Isiah: “Is he?”

Steph. “Oh, HELL NO!!! Who do you think I am?”

Isiah: “…Wally Pipp.”

(disclaimer: this is only a joke)

  2. good looking out sbfan.

don’t be so hard on isiah man. this move is kind of overdue.

and stephon’s reaction was exactly why it hadn’t happened. stephon’s contract is a dinosaur. all the gm’s are buying them out so that free agents of today don’t point at them and go: “But if Stephon is getting $19 million, I want at least $17″.

i still hope stephon finds his niche on this team. much like, as someone else mentioned, jason terry. he should be proud of himself for being the kind of pg he has been this long, but if he wants his career to continue to grow into legendary status, he needs to chill. he needs to find some shine in the background. not everyone is mj and able to leave while on top.
