Going to the Fleet Center for Knicks-Celtics Game

by knicksdefense on October 17, 2007

Okay, I know it is now called TD Banknorth Garden, but it was once called the Fleet Center, just like the TD Waterhouse arena down in Orlando was once called the Orlando O-rena. My age is showing. I won’t bother to focus on any stats because you will have access to all that stuff online, but I will take some notes of the game and report back what I see for you. It is a four hour drive from here, and it is a meaningless pre-season game, this is crazy. But I look at it this way: this will be the first time “the big three” play on their home floor, and the first time we see E-Zbo. Unfortunately no Balkman, but we’ll have almost everybody else, including AH7–his first game in years! This is a new era for the Atlantic Division. I will represent you defenders. I’ll be back after the game with an update, by then the AP synopsis will be out, but at least you’ll have another perspective, from one defender to another.

LGK!

Down by 35….4 for 31 in the second half…guys I’m having flashbacks of last season…please save me.

2 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:42 pm

wait wait wait…..

Peaceman do you hear this?

One bad game?

We’ve had 4 losing seasons!!!!

Come on man….we don’t need a 30 point blow out to get us going.

We should be willing to compete.

What happened to the winning attitude from the 7 previous games?

The summer games and the first 2 preseason games?

So now we just sweep them under the rug?

No….we need wholesale changes immediately.

Last year I called it early in the season…Frye needed to go.

This year I’m calling it again…Jeffries is a Isiah mistake…he needs to go.

We need Kobe or Ron.

I’m going to keep saying it until either it happens or they both get traded to another team.

I’m sorry but it is what it is.

3 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:43 pm

@DNM
“DVJ, weren’t you the one defending Mr. 52 point Crawford last year?”

When it came to Kobe…hell no.

I always said Crawford should be let go in a heartbeat for Kobe.

I do like Crawford but he is to streaky.

Kobe to NY
Ron to NY

Thats it

4 Orange and Blue October 17, 2007 at 9:44 pm

PRETENDERS v. CONTENDERS

ISIAH’s REBUILDING FARCE REVEALED

ROSEY COLORED GLASSES SHATTERED AT THE FLEET CENTER

FIRE ISIAH TRADE THE KNICKS FOR ARTEST AND KOBE AND WE’LL HAVE ANUCHA AND LARRY BROWN FILL IN THE ROSTER!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 D L T Knicks October 17, 2007 at 9:44 pm

RonRon makes sense…….REALLY!!

We don’t have enough.

6 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:46 pm

This shit is horrible.

Isiah needs to be killed tomorrow in the papers.

I wish he would wipe that stupid smirk off his face all the time.

It’s so funny because none of his players play with the same kind of heart and soul he played with.

I just don’t get that.

Phil Jax will be umemployed next year.

Kobe Kobe Kobe Kobe Kobe

This is a pre-season game Defenders. Chin-up!

8 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:46 pm

Man if this shit happens at the Garden…I hope the peeps would walk out at half time…I’m ashamed to the core…
Crawford is AWFUL…I don’t care what it takes to get Kobe…do it. It can’t be much worse than this shit even if we have to gut the team.

9 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 9:47 pm

what the inside outside game is not working for them tonight….what the fuck, we need defenders bring in RON………………25% shooting thats pathetic!

10 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:47 pm

Peaceman…you are looking like a prophet.

11 bronxboy in Md October 17, 2007 at 9:47 pm

LMAO @ Orange and Blue……

12 St_George October 17, 2007 at 9:48 pm

These Leprechauns have been whupping the Kincks. every year lately they have our number. What I don’t like is the lack of emotion and fight from the team

13 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:48 pm

Wow…just checked out the boxscore…we don’t have a single player in double digits.

14 BARF October 17, 2007 at 9:48 pm

looks like an nbalive score.

ECurry played FOUR MINUTES.

I imagine that stat is a one game thing. When Jerome James can’t see any quality minutes to prove his worth to the team. He really could have made a difference :(

IMO Isiah would play more of the team.

IMO you want your starters to get their reps in and play more minutes but the bench needs to play. The style of play that the Knicks want to play -intense hustle defense- you got to take the starters out in spurts and bring the bench in.

15 Orange and Blue October 17, 2007 at 9:48 pm

The house is divided between those who think the team should be blown up right now and those who believe its just one game and that the Knicks needed to have the rosey colored glasses knocked off of them.

I’m staying the course but if this becomes the pattern throughout the rest of the preseason and especially tommorrow after having this happen then Davonn’s point has more validity.

Goodnight!

16 bumrush40 October 17, 2007 at 9:48 pm

WHOLESALE CHANGES FOR WHAT? WHAT TEAM SHOOTS THIS LOW OF A PERCENTAGE EVERY NIGHT. STOP TRIPPIN’ AND GET OVER THIS. THE NEXT TIME WE PLAY AND WIN, PLEASE DON’T BUG OUT LIKE THIS.

17 LGM October 17, 2007 at 9:49 pm

@DaVonn

“You can’t get used to losing like this?”

Whattya been a Knick fan for a month now?

If you want to root for Kobe…you should be a Laker fan.

This chicken little shit is just hilarious.

Hey!!! I know, after we land Kobe and Artest…we can pick up Lebron, Duncan and Bosh! Then we’d be almost a lock for that 8th playoff spot in the East!

…too funny…

18 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:49 pm

nothing but bricks tonight

19 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:50 pm

I can’t watch for the rematch…if we lay an egg again…then I’m willing to trade Anucha’s left nut for Kobe.

20 D L T Knicks October 17, 2007 at 9:51 pm

Crawford was NEVER in my starting line up

STEPH
Q
RonRON
Zach
EC

We have to give talent to get talent….Lee or Balk and Nate plus whatever.

I WANT TO WIN NOW!

21 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:51 pm

It’s the same shit every year…

be patient be patient…

I don’t want to hear that shit anymore…

You guys are just holding it in right now while I’m thinking out loud.

You know this makes no sense.

If we get blown out tomorrow what will you guys say then?

It’s just 2 games DaVonn.

22 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:52 pm

DVJ and I will head the “Bring Kobe to NY” campaign.

23 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 9:53 pm

I hope this will be a big wake up call for IT so he can make some drastic changes NOW! beofre its too late

24 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:53 pm

again @DNM

“I can’t watch for the rematch…if we lay an egg again…then I’m willing to trade Anucha’s left nut for Kobe.”

It’s comments like this that will turn this blog into Knicks Knation 2.0

Let’s try to be realistic here.

This was a domination tonight.

25 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:53 pm

Forget Ron…I want KOBE!!!

26 bumrush40 October 17, 2007 at 9:53 pm

DEFENDERS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL. DIVIDED OVER WHAT? BOSTON BEAT US DOWN, SO WHAT IT DOES NOT COUNT. WE WILL PROBRABLY LOSE LIKE THIS IN THE REGULAR SEASON TOO. BUT SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE!!!! GET A GRIP AND COME BACK TO REALITY. YOU GUYS ARE ACTING LIKE MITCH LAWRENCE AND LUPICA. REMEMBER THIS IS THE FIRST TIME OUR TEAM HAS PLAYED TOGETHER AGAINST NBA COMPETITION. THIS IS WORSE IT WILL GET. OPEN YOUR EYES AND RELAX. WE ARE GOING TO BE ALRIGHT.

27 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:54 pm

agree with DNM

whatever it takes to get Kobe….get him.

28 Peaceman October 17, 2007 at 9:54 pm

Davonn
We need A leader! Marbury has and never will be that leader!
With all the bullshit ZEKE has taken you would think that these knicks
would be half as united as “THE DEFENDERS!”……
Marbury has to go! That will be a statement on it’s own!
HE’S NOT A LEADER……ARTEST IS!
I would love KOBE being here, but the Gutting of this team for him
would be too much! WE HAVE THE TALENT! WE NEED SOMEONE TO LEAD THAT TALENT!
MARBURY HAS HAD TOO MANY CHANCES IN MY BOOK! I’M SICK AND TIRED OF HIS
SAME OLD SHIT! STEPH HAS TO GO! GET ARTEST TOMORROW, TRADE MARBURY,.LEE AND WHOEVER IT TAKES TO LAND ARTEST!
FUCK THIS LACK KNICK TUDE!

29 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:55 pm

I just turned my shit off.

I can’t watch Big Baby take us to the hole.

I can’t watch this no name back up PG Pruitt penetrate whenever he wants.

30 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:56 pm

Bumrush has a point, it really can’t get any worse than this. It’s not just about not having the talent. We have enough to win. But I don’t understand why these guys aren’t PUMPED to play. Why do they just not care? Is it a part of their personality? Or lack of coaching?

I am in no way giving credit for Celtic’s fire tonight to Doc Rivers…it’s all KG’s heart.

Something none of our players have.

31 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:56 pm

Exactly Peaceman..

I think me, you and DNM are the only ones here that see that we need changes not tomorrow…TONIGHT!!!

32 DNM October 17, 2007 at 9:57 pm

Did I just hear them correctly? Down by 38??? Man…those European teams played the Celtics better than we did.

33 Orange and Blue October 17, 2007 at 9:58 pm

I’m on Bumrush’s side of the equation!

My hope is that when we meet them at the Garden we rough em up and let them know that it will not happen again but that takes players with pride!

34 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 9:58 pm

100 to 61!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

35 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 9:58 pm

I guarantee you Isiah will make a deal before the season starts.

Oh yeah….I like to talk through the game…and I talk mad shit.

I protect our players when people attack them so when they play like shit…

I TREAT THEM LIKE SHIT.

36 D L T Knicks October 17, 2007 at 9:59 pm

I know it’s ONE game BUT WE MAY LOSE BY 40 POINTS IN PRESEASON!!!!

DO A TRADE PLEASE……..DON’T WANT TO WAIT!

37 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 10:00 pm

IT most difently will make a trade by the start of the season his job depends on it!

38 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 10:00 pm

How are we going to rough them up at the Garden.

We lost to a much worse Boston team last year like 4 times!!!

Face the facts…we lose, lose, lose, lose and lose some more.

What did you forget about last year how we lost to Boston all those times and to Philly all those times?

Come on…take the blinders off and smell the cocaine….

We need changes.

39 DNM October 17, 2007 at 10:00 pm

I don’t care if they get blow out by 25 as long as they tried!!
But when you’re just daydreaming through out the game…then something is wrong!

40 Orange and Blue October 17, 2007 at 10:01 pm

There are times when everything goes right for one team and not for the other. Kudos to KG for the fire, the Knicks need to learn how to play with what KG has if not then this will not be a one time incident.

41 D L T Knicks October 17, 2007 at 10:03 pm

Good Night Defenders

Pray for a better day……..or a trade!

42 DaVonn J October 17, 2007 at 10:04 pm

Orange and Blue….

How can you sit here and defend this?

This is a MAJOR step back.

43 DNM October 17, 2007 at 10:04 pm

Boston is going to be good this year…very good. Pierce torched Q…and of course everyone torched Crawford.
One positive: We got the Celt’s big men in foul trouble.

44 BARF October 17, 2007 at 10:04 pm

You guys need to SLOW DOWN

It really is…

ONE GAME

ONE GAME

ONE GAME

Yes kill them
Yes question their energy

Boston is no joke

if you thought so, you were nuts talking about the Knicks rolling Boston over

45 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 10:04 pm

I hope the NETS lose by a blow out too on oct 19

46 Orange and Blue October 17, 2007 at 10:05 pm

Agreed with the point that they were like zombies! Agree that the Knicks need a real alpha dawg! Agree that Isiah should and probrably will make a trade and hopefully sometime before the preseason ends. Agreed that the team should be berated and shitted on in the tabloids and sportsnews. Agreed that we should shit on the team when they play like crap!

But I just don’t think I need to loose my head about 1 game. Not this early not just yet. BUT YES THEY PLAYED LIKE SHIT THEY NEED TO BE KICKED IN THE NUTTS AND HAVE SOME PRIDE PIMPED SLAPPED INTO THEM!

47 BARF October 17, 2007 at 10:08 pm

you can call it a spanking

but don’t trade your best pieces

Lee, at this point, is as untouchable as it comes

KUCK FOBE

ARTEST OR BUST

But not Lee.
Knicks are playing Boston only 4 times. Curry played 4 minutes.

Ya’ll reading too much Grill

48 knicksome October 17, 2007 at 10:08 pm

Good night guys my girl needs the computer……I really dont want to buy the papers tommorow and read all the bashing

later defenders

49 DNM October 17, 2007 at 10:09 pm

Do you guys agree that if we fail to make the playoffs this year that IT should go? And maybe the new GM that comes in should blow up the team and start over?

50 bumrush40 October 17, 2007 at 10:09 pm

DAVONN, ORANGE & BLUE, DNM AND THE REST OF THE DEFENDERS LOOK, WHY PANIC. BOSTON WAS PLAYING THEIR 1ST GAME AT HOME AGAINST A TEAM THEY KNOW THEY WILL SEE DOWN THE ROAD. THEY PLAYED LIKE SOMETHING WAS ON THE LINE. WE DID NOT MATCH THEIR INTENSITY. TOMORROW WILL TELL A STORY. THEY DO NOT WANT TO EMBARRASS THEMSELVES BACK TO BACK. THE NETS ARE SALAVATING. WE MUST BE READY TO SHUT EVERYONE UP. HOLLA BACK.
