Okay, I know it is now called TD Banknorth Garden, but it was once called the Fleet Center, just like the TD Waterhouse arena down in Orlando was once called the Orlando O-rena. My age is showing. I won’t bother to focus on any stats because you will have access to all that stuff online, but I will take some notes of the game and report back what I see for you. It is a four hour drive from here, and it is a meaningless pre-season game, this is crazy. But I look at it this way: this will be the first time “the big three” play on their home floor, and the first time we see E-Zbo. Unfortunately no Balkman, but we’ll have almost everybody else, including AH7–his first game in years! This is a new era for the Atlantic Division. I will represent you defenders. I’ll be back after the game with an update, by then the AP synopsis will be out, but at least you’ll have another perspective, from one defender to another.

Preseason is not the season. Away games are always tough no matter
who the opponent is. There will be ups and downs along the way. Curry is not 100% healthy; Balkman is not there. Collins is still recovering from knee surgery; Z-Bo and Curry will take some time get in synch. Boston was pumped up for the 1st home game. Craw had a terrible off-night. The intensity, however, should have been stronger. Zeke will expect more energy against N.Jersey on Friday; and there is a return game against Boston at MSG. on the 22nd. Pride will assert itself and Zeke will insist on a much better effort. Let’s see what happens then.
One thing is clear: AH7 will not lead us to heaven. I believe he will opt for the front office job Dolan is likely to offer. Zeke will
explore all trade possibilities, but don’t hold your breath for either Kobe or Artest. I am confident that the pieces are in place and court time will bring the pieces together. An NBA season is not a sprint; its

Nobody here is panicking. There are some major problems with our team. KG played with a bunch of bums last year. He has a team this year. He has a real SG, SF, servicable C.
Crawford, Curry, Zach all was quoted as saying this is a big game. We had slow starts all last year. There are flaws on this team and we are just pointing them out.
But we are still one star away from competing. The competition has improved greatly and we have to catch up.

Where did all the bravado go ? You guys sound like your ready to fold up the tents from a preseason game ! Do you really think this was a statement game ? You can make your statements in the preseason, I’d rather make ours in the post season.
Don’t panic.
Eddy got 4 minutes. He had 7 points. Randolph had an off night. Garnett out scored him by 3. lol. Having them on the floor together for 4 minutes doesn’t really say much to me.
Having Q at the 3 exposes the hell out of the defense as I said on the Fix months ago. Somebody said he’s a 3. He’s a 2. The elite 3s in the east are Rashard, Pierce, and VC. All of which are as tall or taller than Q. Why not stick him at the 2 and Balkman play the 3 ? If Artest is not on the horizon, I believe Zeke will see this is his only option. He is a 6’8″ defensive presence who slashes to the hoop if given a hole and moves well without the ball. Sounds like a good starting 3 for this group. Crawford has to come off the bench and run w/ the 2nd unit. He can not stop anybody. If IT wants to run 3 guards, its Nate, Jones and Crawford w/ Lee and Morris off the bench. Steph never has shown me much in preseason. When the games mean something I believe he’ll bring it.
So calm down Knick faithful. Its the preseason. Zeke will get it right before the real season begins.
I must apologize for my tantrums…I was just extremely disappointed in our guys. While I would welcome Kobe on the team, I realize that this was only one preseason game. But if we start the season 2-12…then all bets are off. I’ll be okay with gutting the team for Kobe.
And if we don’t make the playoffs this year…then I’m sorry, but IT has to go. Obviously as much as those guys supposedly love playing for him…they certainly don’t show it by zoning out during games. Hell, even Herb can coach a losing team.
