Preseason game two has come and gone, and the Knicks are now 2-0. It was admittedly a tough game to watch, but I’m encouraged by some of what I saw and look forward to seeing this Knicks team again as they continue to learn how to play together.
Early on the Knicks looked nervous, Stephon and Quentin missed some easy buckets I’d like to think they’d make once they get into regular season rhythem.
Mardy’s got no hops yet coming off surgery, yet he did some great stuff including a spin move in the paint that dazzled. He had a few looks at the basket where it seemed he had no lift. I know from the Wheelchair Charity game last year that Mardy can throw it down, so I hope with more time he can redevelop his leaping ability. His defense was still very good, and he picked somebody’s pocket out there and pushed the ball on the break. That’s what I like to see from Mardy Collins.
Fred Jones played solid defense and challenged/altered some shots in the paint. I’d hate to think of what would happen if it were against a more athletic NBA player, Fred might get dunked on some times, but nobody said good defensive players don’t ever get dunked on–ask Mutumbo about that.
Nate looked like a real distributor out there. I’m liking what I’m seeing this year. His jumper looked good too–lookout AH7.
We’ve heard that Nate and Fred would be picking up their man at 3/4 court, yet I didn’t see much full court press tonight; I suppose we didn’t need it once New York took the lead.
Physically, Fizer looked like Boozer out there. He put on some weight while he’s been overseas.
I noticed they played Mardy at the Small Forward position some tonight, with Fred Jones and Nate Robinson in the back court. Very interesting lineup choice. There was some good chemistry between Nate and Fred, looks like that second unit is going to be a terror.
But what stood out most in my mind was Zach Randolph’s performance. He didn’t hit too many from the perimeter as he did in the first preseason game, but instead he showed great ability to score the ball with his lefty shot. Early on ZBO and Stephon played some promising two-man game, something to look forward to this season. All the rumors that ZBO doesn’t pass the ball once he gets it seem to be false, because I saw Zach passing to everybody out there, he just didn’t get any assists out of it.
Jared Jeffries had a nice dunk on the break, but he and Mardy still seem to be passing up open shots, I hope they develop the confidence and skill to take–and make–that shot this season.
The rookies: Chandler is very athletic, he has a shot too. Too bad Jared Jordan, Demetris Nichols and Randolph Morris played limited minutes, I’d like to see more from them in the next game.
Overall they looked rusty, but I like the team passing and I’m more than impressed that New York only had 11 turnovers for the game.
>>>
I’m a lefty myself so it is nice to see such great lefties on this team like ZBO and DLee.
>>>
I tried to get tickets to this game, the cheapest they had today at the Garden Box Office was $250. I couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a game that doesn’t matter, even if it is for chairty. Outside MSG they were selling Maccabi jerseys and everything was very pro Maccabi Elite, I did not see much Knicks stuff at the merchandise tables. Suffice to say the crowd wasn’t a knicks crowd, they were still cheering for Israel despite being down by 20 in the fourth quarter.

Those were some real fans. If you had bought the tickets, they would have been tax deductible as they could be considered “donations”.
Good job Star.

I also will like to see more of the rooks. This just preseason.
Most times when rooks want to make a mark, they play like crazy even if you give them 2 minutes. D-Nice didn’t look hungry and didn’t have any intensity on defense. Fred Jones on the other hand looked very hungry. He attacked the game like it mattered. If their attitude toward the game had any semblance to training camp, then I can understand why IT played Jones more. Even though this was a charity game, if the Knicks had lost, the media would have crucified IT. I think the idea was to win and win big.
I doubt that Kobe would be traded before the season starts. There will be a serious fan backlash and attendance will drop in LA. The more likely scenario will be for him to be traded at the end of the season. The trades that are more likely seem to be Artest, Bibby, and/or Marion.
On AH7, Clyde made an interesting comment which goes something like this “I can still shoot the ball pretty well if they let me play at my pace. But at the pace the game is being played today, there is no way I can make the team. That is the challenge Houston faces, at 36 years and 2 years out, does he have the legs and body to keep up with that pace?”
Interesting times for the Knicks. Who do they cut?
Hey guys, sorry I disappeared. I fell asleep in the middle of the game and a post that I was typing. No joke. Busy day.

Some Observations:
We had video issues with MSG at my house. My wife turned off the television. Just kidding. We lost visual contact for almost a quarter.
Marbury — He was cruisin’. Not playing too hard, even with that late dive for the ball, but he looked good and strong to me, like he can take a game over and will be to the line a lot. Marbury is the one who will suffer the most without Curry in the lineup because he is the one that has to make the adjustments regarding how to control the game and what decisions to make concerning where to put the ball. I like what I saw for a pre-season game.
Nate — He is what I thought he is. A Baller. I don’t see why there would be a conflict between Nate and Steph. Some competition, sure, but Nate will never replace Marbury. At least not this year. Point guards are made not born. It’s about decisionmaking and skills. Point guard decisionmaking skills develop with practice and repetition.
Speaking of decisionmaking, Isiah has one mandate to base his decisions on and that is to “Win Now Baby” for his job and his legacy. It would take a couple of years for Nate to be as good a point as Marbury. In fact, Nate can never be as good at point as Marbury, although he is probably using Starbury’s example and Zeke’s mandate to become more of a team general earlier in his career. What Nate can be, is what Zeke needs him to become. I maintain that this man is going to be a Knick legend, hopefully at least on the order of a John Starks.
Isiah — He was not happy about that early deficit which looked eerily familiar, but I gotta give this man credit for allowing his players to play it out — it’s a pre-season game for Christ’s sake. That is a sign that he is still more focused on building his team than responding to media pressure.
I imagine he is a pretty sad guy because he can’t be himself anymore and that’s gotta be getting to him. He’ll figure it out though. You just need to be a bit more discerning about who you share tour inner joy with. A handshake works. You don’t need to kiss everybody on the cheek to bring your joy into a relationship. I figured that one out as a youngster: a story for another day.
Anyway, I disagree with my friend Peaceman about whether Zeke is playing guys to showcase them. Not only did I read that argument much of the year last season (Peace was that you who kept saying that James, Balk and Francis were being showcased last season), but this is the pre-season. Zeke is trying to figure out how to win with what he has. His toughest immediate decision is probably what to do with AH7.
Randolph — I like that he plays hard. He tries to stay in front of his man on defense, but his feet did not appear to be that fast. He will have trouble with players better than and with faster first steps than Fizer. That body will be his best defensive tool. I’ll be looking to see how he matches up against Bosh. I dig that he is a lefty. Really tough to defend.
AH7 — I wish I knew the inside dynamics of this AH thing. All of a sudden after his contract is up (was it covered by insurance, if he stayed out because of an injury?), he decides to play again. His Dolan showing love or returning a favor? God can work miracles and faith is a wonderful thing, but if you want to keep it “Life on Earth” real, the odds are that AH is not capable of giving the Knicks what they need. Scoring will not be the Knicks problem — shooting yes, scoring no — and AH has given no indication that he has the legs for this game. Your legs don’t get better with age at his age. He couldn’t possibly be in game shape and it would be impossible to find out if he is capable without putting him in game situations.
I repeat that the roster spot he is likely to get does not belong to D-Nich. He is gone for this year, but he should have a nice career and will probably show up on a future team coached by Zeke — just like Jones. A basketball career is not a sprint, but a marathon and these professionals will continue to run into each other from time to time.
AH is working on the roster spots that belong to Rose and Jones. They are both more valuable to the team as Zeke sees it than AH7 at 36.
Finally, I like the defensive effort. Very, very different from last season. They were picking up at three-quarter and half-court. The Knicks were harassing and guarding above the tre instead of below the tre. I couldn’t understand why they weren’t doing that last year instead of allowing shooters to start their move from their comfort zone. Mardy, Jones, Nate and Balk are going to bring great excitement to the Garden.
Morning Defenders
I look forward to playing the Celtics on the 22nd!
We may be able to gage this team against real comp!
I’m glad poppin is back and will keep us updated on
all the rumors around the league! I will hope that
Zeke makes a trade rather than cut anyone, but we still have
plenty of time and preseason games before that decision happens!
Keep Bloggin Defenders!
Hey guys, especially Starburyfan!
Read Mitch Lawrence’s hate article today! Then
look at some of Mark’s recent enrtys at KK!
There is ZERO Doubt that Lawrence and MARK are the same!
Isola is not Mark, it is Lawrence! What a prick!
I’ll have some fun with this though, count on it!
Starburyfan,
It is also a fact that Mark showed up on KK right after we
Nicknamed him “THE GRILL”….you know I’m right on this!
Ha Ha. Mitch is pissed that Isiah didn’t get booed. He is trying o encourage the boo birds to come out on November 4th, 2007.
So Sharpton went away, huh. I checked out the National Action Network website again a couple of days ago and there was absolutely no mention or evidence of a mention of Isiah Thomas on the site.
I see that Newsday has not changed the “Wacky” yet.
Wow this site’s really coming around. Who’s brainchild is this again ?
Peace:
I figured Isola wasn’t Mark. Mark has a way with words that Isola doesn’t. What I do know is that that character is from Daily News. That’s why he couldn’t post at The Fix.
Alan Hahn is a prick. He also was trying to get Zeke booed. His piece today stated that Zeke was booed. I couldn’t hear it, but I wasn’t at the game. I told you guys, we had to keep an eye on Alan. He does do some work, but when you read his pieces for the paper, you can see he’s cut from the same cloth.
I also do believe that Everett was Isola.
Who was it that said Nate should be cut? Crazy! Nate may end up being the best player on the team. No one can guard this guy. He gets to the rim with ease. His problem is that he gets his shit blocked, but he’s aso figured he can get the defense in the air and hand it off for the dunk. He was by far, the bast player on the court last night.
Later!
When we’re talking about who should get cut…why doesn’t Mardy’s name ever come up? Let’s face it…the guy is really slow and a terrible shooter. Why not cut Mardy? Let Nate have the back PG spot. This way Jones can stay and Houston stays if his body holds up. Oh yea, we still have to cut Jerome…there’s no way around that.
Yes if Marbury goes down then Nate would be the only PG…but I’d rather have Nate than Mardy. Jones brings the same things Mardy does when it comes to defense.
Just a thought.
Mitch Lawrence all but admits the medias hatred of the Knicks !!!
“Stern doesn’t have the power to take the Knicks away from Dolan or to fire Thomas. He is not Charles Dolan. So whatever Stern comes up with, it will smack of kowtowing to the vast segment of the media that wants to see Dolan and Thomas fry. But it is also guaranteed to be well short of what needs to be done at the Penn Plaza executive suites.”
He clearly states that the media is out to get Zeke and Dolan. Gotta love the NY hack writers.
Newsday day ain’t gonna change nothin’ on that blog, in their eyes we are just little people, nobodies and should have no influence over their mindset. Right now, like every other newspaper in the NYC, they want to ‘disrespect’ our team and the New York Knicks Organization. Newsday don’t care about the players, and speaking frankly, players don’t read the Sports News, they may hear about something a particular writer says from friends and family but Players don’t rush out in the mornings to buy the newspapers, there is too much ‘garbageness’ in them and on their websites, our players must concentrate on basketball and leave everything else behind. So No, Newsday will not change squat. Who are we to think that we can influence the decisions of the suits at Newsday? But we NYK fans must stick to our guns.

Just read Mitch Lawrence. This guy is about to get a heart attack. He’s acting like a child that cannot get what he wants! He’s pissed Zeke wasn’t booed! He’s pissed Stern cannot fire Zeke and Dolan. Wow!
I sent him an e-mail, so he knows that folks are not buying his bullshit. I think we should flood his e-mail with objections to his opinion.
Lost last night, was the fact that there were two first found picks that are out of the league. Cummings was a first round pick of Indiana, and Fiser is a number four overall by the great Bulls! What if that was Zeke?!
“why doesn’t Mardy’s name ever come up? Let’s face it…the guy is really slow and a terrible shooter. Why not cut Mardy? Let Nate have the back PG spot. This way Jones can stay and Houston stays if his body holds up.”
Really slow? Terrible shooter?
Nah.
Houston is done. You’re assuming people prefer Houston to Mardy.
If Houston is so great then he should go to Phoenix and play alongside Grant Hill. Detroit should’ve never split those 2 up. Grant Hill collected 17 points along with 8 rebounds in 24 minutes last night in a win over the Kings.
Anyone see that driving spin move by Nate? He finger rolled it high off glass left-handed!!!
Clyde noted it but Breen…he acted like that was an everyday move. At least he called it “flashy”. So, although the move was more impressive than that, at least, he acknowledged it somehow. That was against a big man. A slow-footed big man but a big man nonetheless.
DZink has an interesting article at ultimateknicks. Very interesting how IT is the headlines today in all the papers. None of these guys care about the Knicks or the fact that they beat an elite team. Now it seems that elite is the name of team but if the information written is correct they have won several EUro championships so they are among the elite. And before folks start bashing the Euros remember that they dominated NBA players in a recent tournament. SO this blowout has to be viewed as a good showing for the Knicks as they handled a dominant International team easily. But the writers chose to headline booing (or lack of for IT).
Looking forward to the Celts and later the NETS. It’s time for Danny, Kidd, RJ to understand there is a new sheriff in town and his posse patrols the Atlantic Division and they are under orders to byatch slap first and ask questions later. Nobody Move Nobody get hurt
Yeah: been away for a bit and just starting to check this site. Top Class Brothers. First Class
St. G,
Don’t blow it out of proportion man. Its a win, but Maccabi was missing 2 starters including the best C in europe. a W is a W but don’t make it out like the Knicks are world beaters because of this win.
Yeah JohnQ, but don’t play it down either. They were out 2 players like we were out 2 players.
They were out a big man and a swing player, just like us.
Defenders,
I see that the community of thinking, adult NYK fans have convened here. Thanks again Starburyfan for your work in putting this blog up. We need to have Lives do one of those roll calls again. That was cool the way he did that (at the other place) and you all vowed your admiration for our side and respect for yourselves through your passion. I read it but could not post my own. Glad I didn’t.
African,
Everette was de-cloaked on KK when he posted his name and website to have people buy his books or visit his web site, so you’re wrong on that note. He was hawkin’ some bunk so he came out trying to look like some thoughtful/considerate humanist. A hypocrit revealed once again. I must say, however, that you were the lone blogger who read the fugazy that is Hahn and posted it. I recall being a DEFENDER for him on several occasions–trying to gauge his dilemma pleasing the suits and the readership. One of his sheeps at that place says that true NYers “accept the fact that the NY media hates the NYK and deal with it”. Now I know why that newspaper and the other NY rags write to a readership at the level of the 6th grade. What self-introspection, -analysis, -discernment, -worth can one expect from a 6th grade reader/poster? That comment and viewpoint is definitely bottom of the heap, bunker hill.
Harlem MD, Tman, Director, BARF, Trane, Ken Harewood, General–what’s good?
Defenders…Steady as IT goes. Don’t stress over the personnel moves. That script has aleready been written. Our time is now; we have claimed it.

Starburyfans blog is Kicking ASS! Hahn has only 11 posts! I didn’t even look at the News after reading
“THE GRILL”. I’m here to stay I don’t give a shit if Hahn does change that demeaning term! Thats what I respect most about African, His Caution and approach are a lesson we all should learn from! I 100% trust that Starburyfan would never let shit go to his head
as this blog is going to blow up! A Note to Starburyfan….if you post a picture looking like a PORN star, and diss us Defenders….we may have to meet @ 34th&7th and
See who’s size 13 sneaker gets put up who’s ass first! LOL

Toronto’s on the lookout for an ENFORCER
There you go again Peaceman–being that NYer I know and love (metro)
I still say don’t start none, won’t be none. The fugazy from soft island started some sh!t now he’s gotta eat sh!t. You’re right, I don’t think I can stomach another move. I thank you all and especially Lives for encouraging me to continue bloggin’ (by reading his intelligently passionate proses). I steadily believe that you tell on yourself by the company you keep. That’s why I could not stay in Hahn’s company. As Don say’s, “Let’s go Knicks!”
KFL
BARF,
I just don’t like to see us coming out of the gate in the last 2 games sluggish. Just like last year. We need good starts. I’m afraid if we continue to spot the other team 10 points in the 1st quarters of games we will be digging out of a hole all game, just like last year. Also the perimeter D still needs work. Cummings was 4 for 6 on 3s. That total would’ve been worse if Maccabi was better from deep. There were many more open shots that they missed.
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut……we won and I will continue to try and stay positive.
Who do I owe an apology to about Nate ??? He looks focussed and I loved how he mixed his game up last night w/ timely inside and outside shooting to go w/ 5 assists. He looked like a real PG ! Seriously, I’m glad he’s embracing his role.
Zach is a beast ! He showed his touch around the basket last night. I love that his game extends all the way out to 3 point line and can’t wait to SEE him on the floor w/ Curry.
I’m impressed w/ Chandler as well. Fred Jones may be a keeper.
most impressive – Nate
least impressive – Q
2-0 GO NY GO !!!!!
BARF,
In other words, they covet Ron Ron. But do they have the goods to get him. Here’s one time where they could reveal their hypocrisy and say that they would not welcome D-Lee or Taz.
KFL
HEre’s a comment from Hoopsworld by none other than vonteeego cummins. This is the cat that guaranteed a victory for Macabi (sp) Elite.
- Vonteego Cummings, who guaranteed a victory before the game, took a shot at the Knicks on the way out the door. When asked about the importance of following the game plan, Cummings responded: “We didn’t follow our game plan, we need to when we get back. We need to go over things because there are teams better than the Knicks in Europe right now.”
I can understand vonnies bitterness after starting the first quarter so hot and then when the Knicks decided to play was shut DOWN. Most of felt like Larry Homes after that Mike Tyson hook. Shaddup sucka
John Q.
Who do I owe an apology to about Nate ???
Your sins are now absolved. You can stop writing N8 is Gr8.
Also anyone have any questions about Ready Freddy?
I don’t like the sluggish starts either. But the fact that they came back to smash and never let up was a good sign. That means that when the starters come out for a breather the pressure stays up. That speaks to the depth of this years team. They go two or three teams deep on the bench.
Just think, when Balkman comes back, the lineup they used at the end of the game will look much different. I.T. used Jordan, Nichols, Chandler, Morris and Rose.
In the summer league that lineup was pretty balanced with Reynaldo on the wing and Nate at the 1. Jordan didn’t look terrible body-wise. He got smashed in the face once and tried to shake it off. I like to think that line up (minus Rose, plus Balkman) will be a great “garbage time line up”. Imagine the team up 15 points and closing out games with our young guns.
Think about it for a second.
I’d keep Nichols. Forget AH.
Houston won’t be a starter. He cant run with the second team. Can’t use a roster spot on the bench for someone who plays no d. We have shooters. Not “world class” shooter but then again with our low post presence, we dont need “world class”.
BARF..In defense of AH7 and in favour of at least giving the man a shot, this is a good thing for the Knicks. I don’t think a great shooter has to the most athletic guy on the team. If Craw’s statements are accurate about AH7mhitting 96 shots out of 100, this is amazing. If this translates to over 45% from the 3 point arc, imagine what that means to our championship chances. As many have stated before the bulls w/o kerr would not have been elite and kerr was not a great athlete and was slow but he made baskets. Big SHot Robert Horry also not a great athlete but at 47 (I think that’s his age
)is still an important part of the Spurs. SO if AH7 makes the team I for 1 will be a-ok with him being a part of the team. I like D-NIck but give me proven talent anytime over potential.
BARF,
) Finally, we can’t expect that Q-Rich and Taz will be statistical no-shows on the O side of the ball. How many points you got them down for–say, 20-spot? Cool. Now I know we’ve always said that O and scoring will not be our NYK problem–DEFENSE is problem ONE. But if we play close to this script, the fellas will average +/- 110 points per night. Hoping that the Nasty part of Nice-n-Nasty keeps teams at 85 points per clip, then we’re looking at worldbeaters here. Forgive me for the Fantasy League/PlayStation scenario. My point, however, is to show what can be seen before actually seeing the baller ball. Anything is possible from Houston. If he could not run up and down with fluidity, I doubt that IT would bring him in even on a mahke-good. IT know’s what’s good.
You ain’t gotta tell me twice–you’re not feelin’ AH redux at any level. Think about this though, what if AH comes back and contributes in a yeoman fashion with similar numbers posted by Grant Hill last night (posted above)? I admit during the first comeback, AH was gimpy–you could see it in his running. If he’s running smoothly and stoking his J’s for 20 minutes per night, you can just put him down for 20 and another 40 points from the the double-double (II) boys at the post. And you know JC, Steph and N8 are gonna get theirs–(for argument’s sake), let’s say another 30 points among the three (low considering the JC chuck factor
KFL
Woah, are you implying that Houston will average 20 points a game?!?! No way man…he’d be lucky to average 20 MINUTES a game…I say if he makes the team he’ll play max of 15 minutes, average about 8-10 points at most.
Steady are u forgetting that Houston is 36 ? 20 points a game after 2 years w/ no burn ? You must be feelin’ nostalgic today ?
Peace,
I can’t bring myself to read “the grill” yet, we know how he’s going to report stuff by now. Maybe tonight after a shot of whisky I can bring myself to read it…
It will be interesting to see more minutes for the cut/trade candidates, be it AH7, Jared Jordan or Malik. Too bad Jerome James doesn’t have to battle for his spot the way somebody like D-nice does. It’s do or die for D-nice right now while James is cruising to a spot because of his height…
Any blog is only as good as its contributors. If this blog is blowing up it is because of you Defenders, I know that much. I won’t let it get to my head because I know some of you have been Knicks fans for far longer than I’ve been one. It is good to have independent sites like MODI’s and DVJ’s so that we are not under anyone’s thumb if anything goes wrong.
As far as this blog goes, it’s all about the comments, so thank you to MODI, Steady, BARF, Peaceman, Jazz, bronxboy in Md, Orange and Blue, African, cooleyhigh, bumrush40, Davonn J, Robin, Post-up Prince, Anti-NY Sports News, John Q, boomann, STATESMAN, Syd, DLT Knicks, DNM, Poppin Scoski, HarlemBoy in MD, St_George, and all the recent visitors who have yet to comment. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and knicks love (no homo) with us.
JohnQ,
Nostalgic (meaning a recall of past glory) and uninformed (since we have yet to see him play or practice). I’m just bloggin’ here–not wacky
KFL
DNM,
.
OK, I give you the 15 minutes. If he’s featured like Kerr was in Chicago, how many 3′s can he stroke? With how many fouls from torched defender (as in a 4-pt. play)? How many shots could he take and make in that time span? JC reports the other day that he made 96 out of 100 shots during practices (may he was just bloggin’
If Grant Hill could do it, why can’t Allan. Could we at least agree that it is too soon to tell?
KFL
Sorry to learn the Wizards’ Etan Thomas out for season after heart surgery. Hope he bounces back in 2008.
How many total players does that make so far that are out for the season? Regular season hasn’t even started yet!
Steady,
I agree it is too soon to tell. And for the Knicks sake and Allan’s, I hope he is close to Grant’s condition. If he is, then definitely he can help us. Heck, if he is even in Cheap Shot Bob’s condition and can hang out at the three point line, I’ll take that as well.
He is supposed to show up at practice today, right?
Hey what about me man?! I want recognition for the things I’ve said that inspired the massess(joke). What I came here to say is that so far during the Knicks Redemption 2007 we have gone 7-0 since last off-season if you count the summer league games. The culture of the team is definetly changing for the better. We have old vets such as Allan Houston and Doug Christie who must have a genuine feeling we are on the verge of something great. Why would an old aging vets sign with a team if they feel like they have no chance at the championship? I think Zach was the final piece to Isiah’ puzzle unless he pulls off a 5 for 1 trade for Kobe Bryant I’m more then ready to cheer these guys to the playoffs and beyond. I like our chances and think the media and NY city are in for a surprise. Some might call me a homer but I see the light. Now everybody just sit back and imagine what the score would have been in last night’s game if Eddy Curry (DA Monster) and Renaldo Balkman (da Tazmanian Devil) would have played. Vonteego Cummings is lucky niether player suited up because they would of lost by 60.
This is the spot!
All the homies are here. No agenda from the host. We’re home baby!
Alan Hahn is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s no better than his idol Frank. They all have the same agenda. The village caught him in the act. A leopard cannot change it’s stripes.
He updates the blog, but the posters here are much more knowlegable than he is.
Even if he changes that line; Fuck him.
Exodus. Movement of the Knicks people.
Just another angle here! Crawfords no dummy! Selfpreservation is
one of the basic human elements we all possess! MAYBE Crawford’s angle was, Hell
with D-Nice gone, this 36 year old man ain’t gonna be breathing down my ass in practice
for Burn in real games! I’m not saying thats what Crawfords motive is, but I’m not dismissing it either!
D-NICE is more of a threat to Crawford’s Burn than Houston will ever be!
boomann, you’re in there homie–thanks for being a defender.
DNM, I agree it’s too soon to tell with AH7. hopefully we can see where he is during the preseason. I believe reggie could still play if he wanted to, so it is not about age so much as the knee condition. 82 games is a grind, compound that with practices (if he sits out of those it will have an effect on team chemistry). I can’t say he wouldn’t be effective because I don’t know how he’ll run the floor. time will tell.
was it me or did clyde or breen say last night that allan houston’s number should be retired so that jeffries and houston could switch jersey numbers?
Why all the Houston hate?
There must be a reason why 3 good teams were trying to sign him. His workout must’ve been great.
I say sign him so he can show Crawford when to take his shots.
Nichols is no threat to Crawford….if Houston is 95% he is a big threat to Crawford.
Crawford will still be in at the end of the game as will Houston eventually.
Good win last night…who cares what that ass Cummings thinks.
He’s bitter because he can’t play in the league LOL…
Ok, going to read today’s articles in the papers..be back soon.
This is the site for the season. Seems like all the knowledgable fans from KK and KF are here.
Great point African !!!
Let’s go Knicks !!!
Starburyfan,
Actually, it was Clyde that hinted at retiring #20. If I remember correctly, Breen said Jeffries would gladly give up the number, and the Knicks could petition the league to have the number returned to Houston if he made the team. Then Clyde slipped this comment in “or retire it”.
Isola is reporting that Isiah said that he has no intentions of cutting Jones.
@ African…
A leapard has spots, not stipes bruh……lol
Agreed, it is very nice to see all the “ole heads” at the Knicks’ watering hole.
Starburyfan, my man (no homo)…..thanks for the shout-out and for providing a forum (minus the hidden agendas)for which the true “Knick luvas” can post and share our love for our beloved Knicks.
Checked out the game last night….fell asleep in the second quarter, woke up the fourth. From what I saw, they did what they were supposed to do, how they were supposed to do it. Was a little concerned about the slow start however, but I never thought they were in any sort of danger.
I know they were missing a couple of key players, but so were we. I can only imagine how it would’ve been if ECity and Taz suited up. It wouldn’t have been a pretty.
Crawford looked great…..
Lee is a stud…..
N8 is truly becoming great. That dude is a freak!!!!
I believe Zach and Curry are gonna work nice off of each other. They compliment each other nicely.
Alan’s spot used to be hot, but it currently resembles a kiddie park full of retards.
Anybody know when the next televised game is?
I understand that we have been migrating from other blogs but lets stop short of roasting Alan Hahn at the stake guys. He was great all summer long when the other papers weren’t reporting at all. Doesn’t he deserve some credit for that ? Now he can’t remove a word from his headline that we disapprove of and he’s pure shit ? Sounds fickle to me. As NY’ers I would think we have thicker skin than that.
That said, I’m very pleased w/ this site and the posters here. Great job Star !
I will continue to post on both blogs, here for the Defenders and there for Alan.
GO NY GO
Bx Boy:
Not where I’m from. They have stripes. lol
JohnQ:
Alan got his just due from me, and others for regularly updating the blog. Coming from a lazy Frank, that was music to our ears. But I’ve always noticed just a slight hint of hatorade. That’s why I coined the phrase “The village is watching.”
It’s very easy for a woman to feel contented with a new lover, if the previous one abused her. She would not look for te tell-tale signs that he’s an axe murderer. That’s the KK crowd in relation to Alan.
In retrospect I think he got more credit than he deserved.
He can have the title changed. There were many changes made since that new format came out. The “Get over it.” response was a big “Fuck you” to the group.
You totally missed the point.
African, thanks for the vote of confidence my man. BX, I’m about to post a schedule of pre-season games, all the home games are televised. John Q, I hear you. Despite the “wacky” tag line, I’m not going to dis Alan Hahn. I started this a few months ago, as a place for me to put down my thoughts regarding the Knicks. I’m happy to have you proud Knicks fans here, it took us three blogs to meet up here. Syd, thanks for the facts. I knew somebody was talking about it last night. DVJ, the finals, homie?
Nate does look very different this year, I’m impressed with the poise and fundamentals. Hope he keeps it up. he and fred off the bench–lookout!
those of you that saw that Knicks promo commercial on MSG, you know with the guy in the recliner talking about Mr. King should be in the 50 greatest. When that guy says of David Lee, Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry, “a formidable front line. do you hear that Boston, formidable? do you know what that means?” Did that indicate to anybody that they are going to START D Lee this year? If the commercial is talking about it, and it is made by MSG, can we infer from this that Q is not starting but D lee is? I thought Isiah was still working out the lineup, but maybe it is already set… Maybe that’s why they played mardy at the three, because balk will play the four off the bench? Then what happens to Q? There are too many players on the team that deserve minutes.
