Articles like these are exactly the kind that motivated me to start knicksdefense.com. I don’t even have time right now to fully dissect this garbage, trying to make the post office downtown, but I will say that nosebleeds still cost $10, not $50 as this bozo implies.

“Will things go better this year? Thomas sent up-and-comer Channing Frye to the Portland Trailblazers (with Steve Francis) for Zach Randolph. He’s a perfect fit with the Knicks’ new mentality: anything goes, and nobody wins.”

HAHA! “Up and coming” Channing and franchise for Zbo is a bad deal according to this clown. Whatever.

>>>

It is worse than I initially thought. It is actually an entire issue devoted to Knicks bashing.

Starburyfan, thanks for the plug on you page! Your blog site is nice and the name is fitting for this year Knicks team: Knickdefense———-I LIKE!!!

We tru believers know good defense when we see it—the 90′s Knicks was full of it. But the Knicks team now have better offense, no doubt.

Now, I’m worried, because I like A Houston, always have. The purest jumper in the NBA back in the day. Houston could shoot the lights out with best of them back in the day. Do he have it now? I don’t know. And should Isiah cut DNice(nice BARF)? That better not happen!!! How old is DNice vs 36 years old, bad knees prone ,Houston?

U can’t give up talent like DNice talent to get a old talent—that can’t happen. I would be dissapointed if that happen. If Isiah get rid DNice for Houston—I would put Isiah in Anti’s doghouse for like a week. He and his faux pal, Lupica, can bark it up.

—————————————————————————————————————–
Updated list of those in Anti’s doghouse is forth coming on my blog—-so stay tuned guys.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Thanks Starburyfan for your new blog forum,I will plug on my blog site soon.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………
Lives in Jersey, look forward to your season preview of NBA teams!
————————————————————————————————————

BARF, I been away because my laptop went “wacky” and I had to get a new one. So I came back at the right time—KNicks pre-season, baby!

Anyway to the new guy here like Orange & Blue, Steady, WriteOn!

—————————————————————————————————————
Starburyfan, any writer that for a magazine that one can get for free—is not something we should take seriously.

And what’s this clown,Bobby Julian, agenda anyway, but to get nosedived right on Anti’s doghouse pavement with fellow dogs, like Lupica and Isola, and that other dog chow eating, Mitch Lawrence.

Where’s Micheal Vick when you need him?

2 BARF October 10, 2007 at 5:12 pm

sbfan,
you cant be serious?

“Brown couldn’t handle the one star Dolan had left in the lineup—Brooklyn’s own Stephon Marbury—after sending Latrell Sprewell to the Minnesota Timberwolves.”

This dude has no credibility. Latrell trade? What is he implying?

I think his mind is a garbled mess. He doesn’t remember who traded Latrell?

3 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 5:16 pm

Seems that according to sources I checked on ESPN Radio and also on Spermy Bermy’s Blog that AH20 has been signed by the Knicks!

OH NO! HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

4 BARF October 10, 2007 at 5:21 pm

Nah, they have to sign him so that he can show up to camp.
It means nothing.

It just means he’s getting paid to come to camp.
Jared Jordan is being paid to show up to camp. Doesn’t mean he’s making the team.

Isiah was asked is Houston has to compete for a spot on the roster to which he replied: “Oh, most definitely” followed by “Try my Chocolate Chunk flavored popcorn being promoted on knicksdefense.com where the real fans be at”

Haha.

Nah, he didn’t say that. He said “Toffee flavored”. :)

5 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 5:27 pm

THanks for clarifying that point. I should have made it clearer but it is what I meant.

Pluggin Zeke’s Popcorn in a post LMAO!

6 BARF October 10, 2007 at 5:48 pm

This is from Frankie Ice’s spot:

“Houston doesn’t have much time to prove he belongs on the roster considering that training camp began last Tuesday. There is a possibility that Houston may have been promised a position in the organization should he not make the club. Thomas, however, said he is not aware if such conversations have taken place.

Houston has maintained a close relationship with Garden chairman James Dolan and Garden president Steve Mills and there is a chance that he would have negotiated his deal with Dolan and Mills.”

So he’s thinking that even if Alan Houston doesn’t make the team as a player that he may have a job in the organization via a deal that is, of course, a secret.

Alan Hahn added the following:

“Allan Houston is a Knick again. He made his decision to attempt his comeback with the Knicks and Wednesday afternoon the sides came to a one-year contract agreement. There is no initial word if the contract is guaranteed, but it seems unlikely, especially if you consider that he will not be wearing his usual No. 20 when he does take the court.

Jared Jeffries, who said he would give up that number if Houston wanted it, is stuck with that number because of an NBA rule. A player can not change his number without prior notification. We’re told Houston chose No. 7 instead”

That’s an indirect way of saying that maybe Houston’s presence is not considered permanent. Common sense tells you that if a starred player is attempting a comeback and his number is occupied (by a player who injured him) that he would have his number made available. Maybe its a slight indication that his comeback is not really THAT serious. Perhaps. Perhaps no.

Of course Berman’s still a step slow and has no update. But as always, you expect the soap opera queen to have some extra bit of info tomorrow that no one else gets. Where Alan Hahn is the young’n hustling the streets getting the most info…Bermy’s the one willing to crawl through the sewer shirtless for extra grimey sliver of info/gossip.

There’s a role for everyone.

7 Starburyfan October 10, 2007 at 5:49 pm

I still like channing frye btw, I just think the Randolph Deal was definitely an upgrade at PF IMO. Only time will tell. When Zeke traded Channing, he did say that Channing will be an all-star in the future.

Thanks guys for posting.

10 BARF October 10, 2007 at 6:01 pm

Oh, I intend to try the popcorn sbfan. Without a doubt.

I’m going to get as much free as I can hustle. My girl loves popcorn too. Probably more than yours. haha

Not starting nothing, just saying.

She loves popcorn.
She loves free.
Put those things together…and I get some free points.

So thanks for that.

Channing’s good. But Zach is what we need. His rebounding helps a lot because Eddy’s not one to bully his way into the lane. Maybe now that Zach is here (and they’re friends), when Zach goes in for the rebounding…creating space…Eddy will find it easier to make his way into the paint for cheap ones.

I think Zach will make the game easier on the big man.

I can’t wait to see them together on the floor

Along the lines of Peaceman and his conspiracy theories…you might think Eddy Curry’s injury isn’t that serious AND Isiah does not want to show his hand too early. Meaning, if you put Curry and Zach on display from the first game in training camp, teams will have that much more of a chance to prepare a game plan.

This year, we need a quick start. And the less they know about Zach, the better.

Plus, with all of this over exposure from the media (imagine if the media actually watched ALL OF the practice sessions like they do in portland) the entire league would know what to expect. There’s so many extra things NY teams have to deal with, its no wonder why our teams spend so much more then everyone else.

Allan Houston is back. I’ll wait to see what he can do before I judge him too harshly, but if one of our young studs get cut for this golden oldie then I’ll be .38 hot. If he comes back and shines forget I posted this.

16 Starburyfan October 10, 2007 at 7:01 pm

I wonder how much AH7 signed that one year dear for, anyone know?

I still have some love for AH7. It was the contract that estranged him to knick fans, if he had a regular deal and got hurt like that we’d still all be fans. But of course the deal was so inflated it prevented us from bringing in new guys, that plus Layden couldn’t pick any good new guys.

Isiah has had to remake the roster several times over just to get what we are looking at right now. We have a lot of talent now, we should win more often this year, hopefully.

DEFENSE!

17 Starburyfan October 10, 2007 at 7:20 pm

Have to revisit the above article–yeah, I guess I shouldn’t be too pissed because they can’t even compete with Village Voice as a free paper; but still, the guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

For example, “All sorts of trades have left the Knicks missing many of its finest young players (remember Trevor Ariza) and pinning its hopes on on-again,off-again talent like David Lee…”

That’s just an unbelievable statement in about four different ways. First, David Lee is the epitome of a consistent player, despite producing starter’s number off the bench. Secondly, Isiah drafted Trevor, so give him credit where credit is due. Thirdly, Larry Brown forced the trade both to get rid of Trevor (because of statements Trevor made about hoping to get more minutes–LB then called him delusional) and to add Francis (because LB wanted to mess with stephon by showing Steph he could be replaced). Lastly, ever since Isiah has drafted MORE YOUNG TALENT like Renaldo Balkman and Wilson Chandler, I haven’t really missed Trevor Ariza too much. I wish him the best in Orlando, he was a crowd favorite here, but now we have Balk. I doubt this guy has even seen Balk or Chandler play.

18 BARF October 10, 2007 at 7:34 pm

Yeah I dont where you found that article sbfan. That was straight toilet paper.

On another note, Yi Jianlin flunked his NBA debut. I get the feeling he’s really not going to live up to his potential. Fouled out in 13 minutes. What’s that mean?

He can’t handle the game

19 Anti-NYSportsNews October 10, 2007 at 7:47 pm

TMZ says all the NY Press media against Isiah and his Knicks—Sucks.

It’s on YouTube or pick up the latest Daily News to see why they suck.

20 Starburyfan October 10, 2007 at 7:54 pm

turns out the article I referenced is actually an ENTIRE ISSUE of New York Press devoted to knicks sucking, attacking Isiah, Dolan and all things knicks.

I might have to go down to the corner and cop me an issue of that crap. You can find it sandwiched between the garbage can on the corner and the dispenser for Village Voice.

Here is more haterade from the issue, read at your own risk of course:

http://www.nypress.com/20/41/news&columns/feature.cfm

21 Starburyfan October 10, 2007 at 7:55 pm

I kind of expected the press to up the ante in an effort to oust James Dolan after the ABS trial. I’m trying not to take it personal but they’re talking about my squad.

What can I say, everyone is doing tabloids because tabloids sell papers. Except of course this particular paper is free, but that is besides the point…

22 Peaceman October 10, 2007 at 8:00 pm

Nothing would surprise me anymore with these Knicks!

I can’t read the knicks portion of that hollinger link you posted earlier because I’m not an ESPN paid subscriber. What did it basically say? Hollinger has hated on the Knicks in the past, but a recent article by him which stated that the knicks should play like Utah seemed almost positive to me.

A drunk Dr. Buss did not do it; a dead former promising NBA talent didn’t do it; the threat of Kobe sitting out the year? Nope! What about TEAM USA and which is the real DREAM TEAM. Uh-huh! Sorry for the link I didn’t check if it required that we be sucribers to ESPN insider. I wish I knew what their take on the Knicks is. I’m sure when ESPN the Magazine comes out I’ll be able to get my hands on their take on the East and I’ll convey that to you and the Defenders.

BARF and Peaceman:

I actually thought along the same lines with regard to the “injury” to Renaldo Balkman but thought that if the word got out too much it might get more play than necessary– my paranoid ass figured that I should keep a tight lip so it didn’t become all to common knowledge and eventually get out to the west coast and ruin that surprise. I can see what BARF is talking about with regard to Curry being out and that it serves two purposes, the obvious one was to not show the league any of the Nice and Nasty during preseason so that we can come in further under the radar and get off to a quick start. The other side is to give Zach more touches just so he gets use to the offense and becomes familiar with the team in real game situations prior to the start of the preseason.

Sbfn:

Heres another article calling for Stern to “step to the plate” and Suspend Isiah and Dolan.

29 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 9:43 pm

Steady:

Nice take! So are you suggesting that b/c the Knicks took alot of heat from the NBA commissioner for the whole NBA ref scandal that Stern is sort of secretly thankful and that’s why he most likely will not mess with Dolan or Thomas?

30 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 9:51 pm

Raissman is one of the most unreliable pricks out there. He’s worse than Berman. At one point I actually had to send him a personal email fleecing him and pointed out the holes in his story. My girlfriend read it over my shoulder and started laughing and said “You must really hate this guy. Why are you breaking him down like that?”.

He’s straight soap opera. I remember he had an article criticizing the halftime show at MSG. He threw it in as add in almost as corroboration of his criticism. He’s straight trash.

Read his archives. If you can stomach his writing, which is overly dramatic and elaborate for the sports pages, you deserve a bag of free Caramel Crusted Chocolate Chunk and Marshmallow bits popcorn.

Stern addresses issues that affect league

LONDON — “NBA commissioner David Stern stressed Wednesday that he has not ruled out the possibility of taking punitive action against the New York Knicks or coach Isiah Thomas in the wake of the civil action that reached its conclusion last week.”

This madness have got to stop!

35 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 10:02 pm

BARF:

Believe me I think these guys are ridiculous, and I didn’t post the article as my personal take on the matter. I at least think Isiah should play out this season to see if he gets the team to the playoffs. This is a playoff or bust year for Thomas and I’d love to see the team shine and get to the dance for him and themselves. Heck it be even sweeter if we have a nice playoff showing and make the second round or even the conferenc finals. I think it’s possible and actually considereing how much were being underestimated b/c writers are confusing the teams off the court exploits with its on the court talent versatility and depth we very well can be the surprise of the Eastern Conference.

By the way doesn’t wieselman/wiesman look like a bloated version of the mister clean dude?

36 Orange and Blue October 10, 2007 at 10:07 pm

Peaceman:

I don’t buy the lone rogue reff theory, I’m not that naive. Actually I think Stern is such an Image conscious control freak, read as meaning a guy playing to white preferences over those and to the detriment of the black players who make the league, that his dictator ass failed to see the referee scandal underneath his nose. But at worst Stern is not only a control freak but a guy who takes his Commissionership as a free pass to play god with the outcome of the league and its championship finals– e.g., how could such a one man show of a team like Lebron James Cavs make it to the finals.

Yo if any of you see any NBA player on the street, walk by him, bump into him and fall and claim that he discriminated against you because of your height, weight or skin color…or all of them. Punch yourself in the face and get your boys to kick you in the back for the sake of a good couple of fresh black and blues…

then get your favorite female with her best phone voice to call Stern’s office lobbying for them to take action. Hopefully, it won’t be a Knick and if you time it right, we could get that player suspended right before the Knicks play them

Whats the problem with Stern?

A civil trial? Are you serious?

He didn’t touch her. He didn’t grope her. He didn’t stick his tongue out at her. He didn’t take his clothes off. He didn’t flip her off. Didn’t spit at her.

He denied everything. And no one else testified to witnessing any of “bitch” and “ho” namecalling. Its incredible that she won. Its incredible how FrankieIce and Berm the Sperm even thought her case held no water.

Let me repeat that. Even Frankie Ice and Spermy Bermy didn’t believe her. And those two are known to take a word and stretch into a novel if its anything related to Isiah.

I’m still over here scratching my head. Are New Yorkers that cynical?

Haha. Look at me being stupid again. Of course, they are. Doy!

I Notice Modi stuck his head in for a minute…

Let’s look at it this way, in my heart of hearts, my gut tells me this TEAM is primed for a run at the Championship, and beleive you me, so do a lot of other people, or they would not being trying to convince everyone otherwise so perversely. The Stry Tellers will try to cause MSG and the Knicks to implode and hope this ships sink so the Great ? Hope comes along wins immediately and Saves the Day for the premier franchise. They see what we see! This is just what the NBA ordered because their dirt is no longer a news item or news worthy, and now Mr. Sterile can act sactimonious and play judge, and creat a whole new story the msasses to believe…

by the Phantom call Wade got in the final moments of a close

Flagerant that received only a one game suspension. Stern needs to go, and
I think Cuban amongst others would be on that band wagon! Thats too much power for one person to

News around the eastern conference has a geriatric Heat team recovering from injuries to many of its front line guys and a bit of tension between Shaq and Riley b/c Riles wants Shaq to put out effort during the preseason.

The game of Chicken between the Caveliers Verajoa and Pavlovic continues, which makes me scratch my head when ESPN insider John Hollinger predicted they’d finish 54-28 this season and third in the Atlantic.

Maybe BARF’s suggestion that the Knicks explore a trade scenario with the LA Lakers has some basis, and I think the addition of Jefferies fresh from his summer workmans beard workouts might have just what Kobe’s looking for in a teamate.

Politics and Marketing are very related 1) since both, for different ends, seek to captivate or gauge their ability to captivate a large audience; 2) both have a tendency towards selling something to the public, the NBA an Image and High Profile Superstar Players on Chapionship Levels Teams that the League pushes to Boost ratings, while in politics Candidates sell an agenda based on a core set of values or ideas; 3) both the NBA and Politicians or political parties have to cater to an audience who have a greater access to the messages pushed– in the NBA corporate and more affluent caucasian fans; in politics person who believe they have a stake in the issues decided by the vote.

Does that answer your question?

In addition I think the guy would be a hypocrite to come down on the Garden on the matter of the Sexual Harrasment claim 1) because it still in the legal process: 2) but more importantly b/c Stern would be more of a hypocrite especially when you consider the heavy hand he took against urban black and hip hop expression in the league with the sideline dress code he imposed. If that doesn’t stink of some racially tinged values then what does?

I liked that link about Kobe and Derek Fisher.

I have to ask myself is Jared Jeffries a warrior?

I dont know. He hasn’t been put in a position where he’s been able to show that off. Still, the year before he signed with the Knicks, Jeffries was a do-it-all type player for a newly-minted playoff team with the Wizards. He even started at SGfor a good spell and did it successfully. Is he a warrior? If by warrior you mean, a player who keeps his head down, stays out of trouble and does his job every game…then yes. Is he an Oakley type warrior? No. Not an enforcer. But Pippen wasn’t an enforcer but was undoubtedly a warrior.

Is Jerome James a warrior?

I dont think so. He played well in the playoffs once. He’s out of shape. But if Chris Mihm is still delicate after his ankle surgeries, James could step in and play 5-10 minutes. He’s barely making $6 a yr.

Would Kobe like to get Kwame out of there?

Probably. Kwame isn’t the hardest of working fellows. He’s been known to barely scratch the surface of his physical potential. This, I think, would frustrate an elite athlete and performer such as Kobe.

Does Kwame want to get away from Kobe?

Maybe. Its hard to play next to a world class athlete such as Kobe. He’s probably resenting the fact that he plays for a player who is already talked about in the same sentence as Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan drafted him, scolded and criticized him publicly and privately and ultimately gave up on him. Kobe probably does the same. I’m sure Kwame would like to leave. His contract probably keeps most teams away from the bargaining table.

If your the Lakers, you probably would never think you can get 2 players for Kwame. 2 players with relatively good contracts. I think our only competition would be Sacramento…being that they are rumored to be shopping both Artest and Bibby.

I wonder if anything can come of it.

I’m just blogging.

Nice insight. Your right about the take on Jerome James but I think an Isiah “Smiles” Thomas style sell job can be done with Jefferies. One point is that he is a player who keeps his nose to the grindstone and will perform as requested– to the best of his ability. The other point is he has worked hard in the summer to earn a spot on the Knicks– maybe not starter but of some prominence in the rotation. With the depth we have his efforts might go to waste and that’s not good for Jefferies. In La his efforts could greatly benefit the Black Mamba– here’s to DVJ– and as a bonus they get big Snaxx big body to lean down on Duncan and the other bigs.

Plus it would be really funny hearing about how Kobe would be berating Snaxx for being a fat lazy ass! Who knows he might get motivated to whip himself into shape. NOT! But at least we can laugh at Snaxx getting his just deserts for robbing our Knicks of the MLE.

I wrote a pretty interesting blog at the fix b/c alot of heads over there are confusing or stance as a personall attack on Alan Hahn. I had to do it to forth my side of the argument. I also contacted MODI to get his take on my blog at the fix and what he thinks of the WACKY on the fix subtitle

If you say you are afflicted, that’s it, you are afflicted. If you can’t be made whole then you make your call as to what will make you whole. For folks to take an ignorant or arrogant stance on this issue discounts the tumbleweed blog we found and built up from this summer. Though Alan had to d his part, we walked him through it. So be it. What’s the big fuckin’ deal with being a damn sports writer? A guy gets a press pass to go watch games and write about what he sees. BFD. Lucky for him he played a lick-a-ball so he knows the lingo. That idiot on KK called him a scrub the few times he came by in the early days of the first migration. You can just tell Hahn’s the one giving people the finger about that damn issue. I’m not buying their paper so they’re not missing my $$ any more. If they can’t respect me then I don’t have to be a statistic for their suits by posting online either. Fuck them. I could imagine the feeling of seeing some of the juvies/young heads going along to get along. Someone needs to show them “A Soldier’s Story–you know kids today only relate to videos, TV and pop culture.
I’ve tried to look at it from all angles and it stills smells like shit and then that arrogance with get over it just sent me through convulsions. I read where he thinks it’s like the boycott of the pizzeria from Spike Lee’s movie. He’s a young pup living a dream job. The Knicks men will set him straight.
