Allan Houston Basically a Knick Again
October 10, 2007 – 3:03 pm
It will either be the H20 of old, or old-ass H20.
Anway, espn says it is going to happen. Many of us were kind of expecting it to happen. What does this mean for the other pseudo-knicks, especially the young ones that Isiah recently hand-picked? They’re going with “the future is now,” I suppose.
I can see why Houston can add value to our Knicks team because there is such an emphasis on athleticism in the league now, skills like shooting really are a rare commodity. Even some of the recent US Olympic teams have had shooting deficiencies that are only now being corrected. Yet what have people like Damon Jones done in recent times? Then again, look at how Jason Kapono killed us during his tenure with the Heat.
Bottom line is we have Zach and Eddy and it can’t hurt to have a career sharp-shooter. Yes Demetris’ jumper looked damn good in Vegas Summer League but the one thing Demetris doesn’t have going for him is a good relationship with ol’ Jim Dolan, even if Demetris’ knees are more structurally sound.
Well at least I can wear my H20 jersey at the garden again without feeling antiquated.
Reminds me of the year of the “Amnesty Clause.” People were booing this cat at the Garden, I remember it. He’ll probably get a mixed ovation from the 90’s fans and those of us that believe the future of the knicks is in Isiah’s ability to draft new talent.
The thing I don’t like about his interview with ESPN is that he says it is mostly to prove to himself that he can do it. How about bringing home some post-season W’s for the Knicks? NY should have their goals set high this year, that way if they fall short, they still have achieved something.

DVJ–the finals, homie?

Like someone said in the previous blog. DNice better take it to Houston and exploit those creaky Knees. Then he can worry about making up the supposed chasm between him and Fred Jones.
I understand it’s win now but damnit if Nice ends up in the Eastern Conference poo on Isiah.
We’ll just wait and see.

you know, you talk about shooting, Nate is a pretty good shooter in his own right. 39.3% three point career shooter compared to allan houston’s 40.2%. Granted, Allan has made about 1,150 more threes than nate at this point, and he has a height advantage for getting his shot off, but still, nate is only in his third year and has yet to be a starter with starter minutes. I think right now, nate looks to be first off the bench in terms of scoring.
No disrespect to Stephon but I think LB saw more Iverson in Nate than in Marbury. Nate started more for LB than Isiah, despite the fact that there was nobody left in the back court last year except Mardy and Nate.

thats interesting sbfan. i havent looked at nate’s stats like that cuz my memory for the games lets me know he’s a star in the making. i would really like to him mature more this year. everytime i think about ahouston on this team i try to think about who he’d be taking minutes from…
crawford?
nate?
mardy?
chandler?
nichols?
Man, I’m not ready for that. I wish him luck as a human being. But knowing he’s rich and that he made a lot of his money watching from the bench in his suit…bothers me. Why would we do that again?
For the sake of his pride?
Nah, man. Hey Alan Houston!!! Suck it up baby. You played for one of the darkest periods of Knicks history.
Deal with it
